00:00Despite all the advances from a therapeutic point of view, there is an increase in the incidence of oncological pathologies, but above all of lymphomas.
00:13In the last five decades, the incidence of lymphomas has doubled, perhaps also because we are able to make a diagnosis earlier, because we are more careful, because the medicine has changed, but this incidence is real.
00:27The incidence also accompanies an increase in mortality, even if compared to the increase in incidence, mortality is at least stable or decreases in some subsets of lymphomas, because there are many lymphomas, there is heterogeneous pathology, there are lymphomas that it is possible to continue to control with new therapies and survive for a long time.
00:49Other lymphomas that are much more aggressive, instead, have a chance of survival between 5 and 7 years, roughly on average.
00:59So this increase in incidence, what is due, it is not possible to establish exactly, but certainly environmental pollution, the disproportionate use of chemical substances that can end up in the subsurface, in the sea, the pollution of seawalls, of the sea, clearly leads to plastics, microplastics.
01:19There are so many chemical products that can end up on our table, or that we breathe, that lead to a possible increase in the development of neoplastic diseases in general, but above all hematological, especially if accompanied by alterations and mutations that we have, that we do not know, that can be altered precisely by the use of chemical substances.
01:42I am more or less aware of some data that concern the lifestyle, and therefore smoking, obesity, the use of hair dyes, food with fish, but beware of salmon, which has smoked with nitrites, so it is a whole sector that is still in great development, but we do not know yet the precise impact on the increase in incidence of this disease.
02:12It is a warning about what our lifestyle should be, also for example using plastic containers that develop phtalates, and I warm them in the microwave oven and they develop even more phtalates, which are chemical substances that enter our body, but the list could go on forever.
