Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has called for vigilance against Chinese infiltration after reports of a suspected spy, H6, meeting former PMs Theresa May and David Cameron. Philp dismissed claims of a substantive relationship but warned of China's efforts to infiltrate universities, businesses, and government. 00:09there was no substantive relationship. What I think we do need is to be vigilant in public
00:14life about Chinese influence. That includes actually universities where we know China
00:19is seeking to steal intellectual property. The same applies to business and of course
00:23in government and public life as well. We need to be vigilant to the threat of Chinese
00:27infiltration. We saw a Chinese agent giving a lot of money to a Labour MP not long ago.
00:33And if anyone in universities, in business or in government is at all concerned about
00:38possible Chinese influence, they should contact the security services immediately.
