01:27 - Moving forward on the agenda
01:51 that our president set requires active diplomacy.
01:55 And there's no substitute in our judgment
01:56 for face-to-face diplomacy in order to try to move forward,
02:01 but also to make sure that we're as clear as possible
02:04 about the areas where we have differences,
02:06 at the very least to avoid misunderstandings,
02:10 to avoid miscalculations.
02:11 That really is a shared responsibility that we have,
02:14 not only for our own people,
02:16 but for people around the world,
02:18 given the impact that the relationship
02:19 between our countries has around the world.
02:22 I look forward in these discussions
02:24 to being very clear, very direct,
02:27 about the areas where we have differences
02:29 and where the United States stands.
02:31 And I have no doubt you will do the same on behalf of China.
02:34 But I underscore again, it's important that we do that,
02:38 important to demonstrate that we're managing responsibly
02:41 the most consequential relationship,
02:43 I think, for both of us in the world.
02:45 I hope we can make some progress
02:48 on the issues that our presidents agreed
02:50 we should cooperate on,
02:51 but also clarify our differences, our intent,
02:56 and make very clear to each other where we stand.
02:59 So again, thank you for having us here today.
03:01 I look forward to a very good discussion, as always.
03:04 Thank you.
