00:00In a televised address to the nation, French President Emmanuel Macron now resisted calls
00:16for him to resign and said he hoped to name a new Prime Minister that soon.
00:27The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Qatar, where he will participate
00:31in the Doha Forum to be held on December 7th and 8th.
00:40Violent demonstrations continued for eight consecutive days in Georgia, aimed to seer
00:44a political crisis and hundreds of arrests.
00:54Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Televisa headquarters
00:58in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:59We'll be with the news to stay with us.
01:13In a televised address to the nation, French President Emmanuel Macron now resisted calls
01:17for him to resign and said he hoped to name a new Prime Minister that soon.
01:21The day after Prime Minister Michel Barrett was ousted by lawmakers in a no-confidence
01:27vote, the President resisted calls for him to stand down, seeking instead to shift the
01:33blame onto the left-wing and far-right factions.
01:37In his address to the nation, the French head of state has harsh words for the far-right
01:42National Rally, whose leaders Marine Le Pen has orchestrated opposition against him and
01:47has avowed to frustrate his agenda.
01:54Nobody can afford to wait to act, to be useful.
01:57The world and Europe are moving forward, and we need a government that can make decisions.
02:03And finally, the mandate that you have democratically entrusted to me is for five years, and I will
02:08exercise it to the full.
02:11My responsibility is to ensure the continuity of the state, the proper functioning of our
02:16institutions, the independence of our country and the protection of all of you.
02:25We can't afford to be divided, and we can't afford to stand still.
02:29This is why I will be appointing a Prime Minister in the next few days.
02:32I will give him the task of forming a government in the common interest, representing all the
02:37political forces of an arc of government that can participate in it or at the very least
02:42undertake not to censure it.
02:44The Prime Minister will have to carry out his consultations and form a tight government
02:48at your service.
02:49His priority will be the budget.
02:51A special law will have to be tabled in Parliament before mid-December.
02:55This temporary law will ensure the continuity of public services and the life of the country,
03:00as provided for in our Constitution.
03:02It will apply for 2025 the choices made in 2024.
03:08Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov points out on Thursday at the ministerial meeting
03:13on the Organizations for Security and Cooperation in Europe which took place in Malta, the need
03:19to build security promotion into international organizations such as OSCE.
03:29It would appear that in the current circumstances of the changing balance of world powers, the
03:33OSCE could become one of the meeting points for interests of all members of the European
03:38space.
03:40But it would not cross anyone's mind in this room to use the OSCE for this purpose.
03:45To members of NATO and the European Union, because by their actions they have pushed
03:50the OSCE to the sidelines of political processes and to us and everyone else.
04:00This kind of OSCE is meaningless.
04:03In real politics within the framework of OSCE, there is no room for cooperation or security.
04:15And after participating in the OSCE's ministerial meeting in Malta, the Russian Foreign Minister
04:20Sergei Lavrov arrived in Qatar, where he will participate in the Doha Forum to be held on
04:25December the 7th and the 8th.
04:28The Doha Forum is held annually since 2003 in Doha, Qatar's capital.
04:33The forum aims to promote dialogue, brings together leaders for policy formulation and
04:38debate on critical challenges that the world is facing nowadays, and build innovative actions
04:45and networks.
04:46The Doha Forum is sponsored by the state of Qatar under the slogan Diplomacy, Dialogue
04:52and Diversity.
04:53Since its beginning, it has been attended by several representatives from countries
04:57around the world.
05:03In South Korea, the police opened an inquiry on President Jung Suk-kyi in response to the
05:11accusations of the LH3 Center for declaring martial law in the country.
05:16The investigation was initiated after two complaints against the president.
05:20One was filed by the minority opposition Rebuilding Korea Party, while the other was a request
05:24by 59 activists.
05:26The lawsuit charged not only Jung, but also the now former Defense Minister, the Army
05:32Chief of Staff, and the Interior Minister with treason and other offenses for their
05:37role in the declaration of subsequent lifting of the martial law.
05:41Lawmakers, 191 opposition parliamentarians, presented to the National Assembly a motion
05:46to impeach the president, which could be voted on next Saturday.
05:51In this context, after massive protests on Wednesday, a group of former South Korean
06:00Marines rallied on Thursday in front of the presidential office for demanding the president's
06:05dismissal.
06:06These veterans described the fact that the government declares martial law as unacceptable.
06:12President Jung Suk-kyi had announced the measure, accusing the opposition of sympathizing with
06:19North Korea and paralyzing the government with unnecessary activities.
06:49Welcome back to From the South.
07:05The Israeli regime continues its attacks on hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically
07:09in the Al-Baghdadiya camp area as well as the Medellin area.
07:14From the Gaza Strip, our correspondent Judeh Ghazi has more details.
07:19Today, the Israeli regime has once again attacked hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically
07:31in the Jabalia camp area, as well as in the Beit Lahiya area.
07:35First of all, it is worth mentioning the sixth consecutive attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital,
07:41the only remaining active hospital in the area, where at 6 o'clock in the evening, local
07:45time in the Gaza Strip, the army bombarded the hospital with missiles and shrapnel bombs,
07:51causing not only damage to the buildings, but also causing injury to the patients, but
07:55also causing the injury of at least 12 people, several of them even medical staff, as well
08:01as the death of two hazardous, one of them a 16-year-old minor who was just in the emergency
08:05section, in a wheelchair who had come for medical assistance.
08:22The second victim of this attack was a man of about 34 years of age who was just outside
08:26the door of the hospital and therefore today, due to the repeated attacks on this medical
08:31center, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Dr. Hassam Abassafia, has condemned these
08:36repeated attacks on the medical facility, and has even stressed that the Israeli army
08:41already has as a routine and normal act to bomb these hospitals and especially due to
08:46the silence of the international community, as well as the silence of the World Health
08:51Organization.
09:04And therefore, Dr. Hassam has called for the quick movement of the international organizations
09:09to put an end to the attack towards this particular medical center.
09:13However, the Kamal Adwan Hospital was not the only hospital to be attacked, but also
09:18the Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip was also bombed by the Israeli army,
09:23causing a large fire on the third floor of the building and the injury of about three
09:27people who were inside the hospital.
09:41Also in relation to the health system in the Gaza Strip, I would like to highlight the
09:45statement issued by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, specifically the hospital where I am right
09:49now, where the director of this medical center has warned and sent a message especially to
09:54the World Health Organization, informing them of the difficult situation that the chronically
09:59ill children are going through.
10:12The director assured that children with chronic diseases unfortunately do not have access
10:16to treatment, several of them even have very serious symptoms and could unfortunately lose
10:21their lives at any moment.
10:24He has also assured that approximately 80% of the children in the Gaza Strip show symptoms
10:28of malnutrition due to lack of quality food, and therefore this hospital has sent a message
10:33that the situation of the children in the Gaza Strip, especially the chronically ill
10:37minors, is very serious.
10:43Also, it's important to note that today the civil defense and fire departments have sent
10:53another communique stating that approximately 13 fire engines are currently out of service
10:58due to lack of fuel.
11:00This has come in light of the restrictions imposed by the occupation army to prevent
11:04the entry of fuel, to prevent even the entry of any basic necessities, whether it is food,
11:10whether it is humanitarian aid, whether it is medical supplies.
11:25And therefore at this moment we are talking about 13 ambulance cars that are in the center
11:30and south of the Gaza Strip, which have stopped working and this may impact in quite a negative
11:35way, especially by increasing these attacks to these areas of the Gaza Strip and that
11:39would mean that in any attack if there is a fire it would not be possible to stop it,
11:44nor anyone could help to transfer the victims and the wounded, and therefore this stoppage
11:48of fire engines is quite directly harmful to the Gazans and the message that we wanted
11:52to send, especially today, is that the Israeli regime must reopen the borders with the Gaza
11:57Strip to at least allow the entry of these basic necessities.
12:05Fallen demonstrations continue for eight consecutive days in Georgia amid a serious political crisis
12:11and hundreds of arrests.
12:12According to the local media, the protesters mostly rally in sympathizers gathered in front
12:17of the country's parliament and confront the police, leaving at least 150 officers and
12:24thousands of journalists wounded.
12:26Despite the arrests, the elected president of the Georgian Dream Party, Iraq's leader
12:31Qari Wajib Ali, declared that the state institutions continue to function properly.
12:38On the other hand, the prime minister, Iraq's leader Khoidice, accused outgoing president
12:44Salem of calling the violent protests a call he described as fascist.
12:56In the U.S., the government announced that it is preparing additional sanctions for those
13:00authorities who seek to suppress the demonstrations in Tbilisi and other cities in Georgia.
13:08In a statement, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Washington is prepared to retaliate
13:13against those who suppress the right of Georgian citizens to free speech.
13:17In this regard, Washington called on Georgia's ruling party to mitigate any repressive tactics,
13:24including the use of arbitrary arrests and physical violence, in an attempt to silence
13:29its detractors.

13:57Welcome back.
13:58The Venezuelan Vice President, Delsi Rodriguez, held a meeting with her Chinese counterpart,
14:02Aung San Suu Kyi, in Beijing, reviewing the world road set by President Nicolás Maduro
14:07during his 2023 visit to the Asian nation.
14:11In this regard, Rodriguez shared that since the Venezuelan head of state's visits, bilateral
14:15exchanges among the countries have increased considerably with energy and financial cooperation
14:21as the central axis from which other strategic sectors are diverted.
14:26In addition, the South American Vice President emphasized China and Venezuela's alliance
14:30is in the rejection of the hegemonism and illiteratism that threatens the sovereignty
14:36of countries.
14:37And in both nations recognized in the BRICS, I have political blocs that seeks an inclusive
14:42economy accessible to the global South.
14:49China introduced new sanctions against 13 U.S. companies and six senior executives for
14:54supplying and selling arms to Taiwan.
14:57When a statement the Chinese Ministry of Internal Affairs condemned the U.S. sale of arms to
15:02Taiwan, arguing that the arm deal violated the one-China principle and goes against Chinese
15:08sovereignty and territorial integrity.
15:10On November 30th, the U.S. defense ministry reportedly approved the sale to Taiwan of
15:14its first parts of F-16 fighters, electronic scanning radars and other military equipment
15:21valued at 385 U.S. billion dollars.
15:30The Taiwan issue is at the core of China's main interests.
15:33The United States has repeatedly announced emergency sales of weapons to Taiwan, seriously
15:38violating the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, interfering
15:43in China's internal affairs and severely damaging China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
15:48In accordance with the relevant provisions of the anti-foreign sanctions law of the People's
15:52Republic of China, the government has decided to take countermeasures against U.S. military
15:57industrial enterprises and senior executives.
16:18We are working on it.
16:19We will inform you.
16:20I repeat, there is a part that has to do with the consulates.
16:25Another part has to do with the work we will have to do in Mexico.
16:29We hope this does not happen, but if it does, we must be prepared to welcome them.
16:35There is a current agreement with the administration of President Biden where for many of the nationalities,
16:45they send them directly by air to their countries of origin.
16:49Where they do not have a direct relationship, there is also an agreement for them to contribute
16:54from Mexico to send people to their countries of origin.
16:57Likewise, the Mexican head of state announced the meeting of the National Security Council,
17:05which is constituted by several members of her cabinet.
17:15We are going to hold the National Security Council.
17:19This council has to be held by law.
17:22So there will be a previous meeting with the coordinator of the council, the Secretary
17:26of Security and the Secretary of Government regarding next year's resources that are going
17:31to be distributed from the different funds that are allocated for security, both to the
17:35states and to the municipalities.
17:42And later we are going to have the meeting, which has a protocol aspect and at the same
17:46time we are going to explain once again the strengthening of the security strategy we
17:51are implementing and how it is necessary to coordinate with all the governors.
18:02In Peru, the new Jorge Chavez International Airport will begin operations on January 29,
18:082025.
18:09More than 13,000 workers are currently working to complete airport infrastructure.
18:14The new single-passenger terminal, which is 98 percent complete, is distinguished by
18:20its modern technology, which promises to provide travelers with an advanced and safe experience.
18:26A few weeks before the inauguration of the new Jorge Chavez International Airport, which
18:31is in its final phase of construction, it looks totally modernized in accordance with
18:37passenger demands.
18:38This expansion of the airport city project is intended to promote economic development
18:45and real-estate growth in the surrounding areas.
18:53We aim to handle 30 million passengers annually, and next year we will focus on further improvements
18:58to reach 40 million.
19:01This includes the rehabilitation of the existing runway, as well as upgrades to the old runway.
19:07Our goal is to ensure we can operate both runways simultaneously, supported by the new
19:11terminal and control tower.
19:19The airport design is inspired by the Nazca culture.
19:22From above, it takes the shape of a hummingbird, a symbol of the Nazca civilization, while
19:27the commercial areas will reflect the essence of Peruvian culture.
