00:32According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, it was only 5.1% in November compared to 9.6% in October.

00:40But because of the weight of these three other commodity groups, the meat, the fish, and the vegetables,

00:49that's why there was an increase in inflation in the month of November.

00:55MAPA explained that they saw a decrease in the inflation rate for rice.

00:59From January to November, this trend is decreasing.

01:03The retail price, this is what we're getting, the unit price per kilo in regular, well-mealed, and special, is also decreasing.

01:15So our expectation for December, for example, the inflation rate for rice is really decreasing.

01:23Meanwhile, according to the PSA, the increase in the inflation rate of rice in November

01:27is due to the increase in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages.

01:31The next typhoon that hit the country also contributed to the increase in the price of vegetables,

01:36particularly in Cagayan Valley, which was affected by the typhoon.

01:39Cagayan Valley has the highest rate of inflation outside the National Capital Region.

01:44The prices of our vegetables were affected.

01:49It's always like that when there are floods and strong typhoons.

01:54And that created a spike on the prices.

02:00As I said, our vegetable commodity group really increased the prices.

02:09Tomatoes were also affected.

02:11The price of tomatoes in October decreased, but the price of tomatoes in the past month increased.

02:15On the part of Canada, it was said that the actions of the government were helpful,

02:19including the productivity enhancing and trade measures to maintain the inflation rate within the government's target.

02:26According to Canada Secretary Arsenio Balisacan,

02:28they continue to monitor the prices of the main products, especially food, because of the next typhoons.
