A former cook pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Dec 4) to a charge of stealing a luxury Rolex Oyster watch worth RM67,000 from a shop selling branded goods last month.

Safaruddin Bacho, 44, was charged with committing the offence at the shop in Jalan SS 16/1, Subang Jaya at 10.40 am on Nov 23.

00:45According to news reports, the thief had posed as a customer at the shop.
00:50He claimed to have made an appointment and asked several questions about the items in
00:54the store.
00:56The man then said that he needed to fetch his employer who was waiting downstairs but
01:00did not return.
01:02The staff realised the watch was missing several hours later and lodged a police report.
01:08Police arrested the alleged thief at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur on November 29.
01:14It was revealed that he had sold the stolen watch for R25,000 to a branded goods buy and
01:21sell outlet in the city.
