The morning starts off dry in most places, with clear skies and fog patches in England and outbreaks of rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland. As the day progresses a band of rain moves eastwards towards the UK which brings heavy rain and mild temperatures along the western coastlines, while it remains drier but cooler and calmer further inland. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 29/11/24. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Honor Criswick.

00:00Hello, good morning, it's Friday, we've made it to the end of the week and we are actually
00:05ending the week on a bit of a split with some mild wet and windy weather in the west but
00:09generally drier but a bit chillier in the east.
00:12So it will brighten up across central and southeastern areas, perhaps a bit of fog to
00:16start but this clearing quite quickly as the breeze starts to pick up.
00:19Also turning rather blustery in western areas as we see clouds spill in, also some outbreaks
00:24of rain, this heavy at times as we can see from the brighter colours here.
00:28But it is also bringing in some milder air so temperatures generally in the low teens
00:33but still quite a chilly day on offer in parts of the east, south east of the country where
00:37temperatures aren't really going to exceed around 7 to 8 degrees.
00:42Then through into the evening we'll continue to see that cloud and those outbreaks of rain
00:46move their way eastwards across the country, most of that rain generally fizzling out but
00:50leaving behind some clouds and spots of rain and drizzle though this is mainly going to
00:54be across hilly areas, perhaps some longer spells of rain for parts of Northern Ireland,
00:58northern parts of England for a time too.
01:00But with all that cloud around and fairly blustery weather too that's generally keeping
01:04those temperatures up but still slightly chillier in those eastern areas, lows of around 5 to
01:096 degrees here.
01:12So to start off the weekend we can see there's still a fair amount of cloud across the country
01:16and it's going to remain quite cloudy through the course of the day, the best of any sunshine
01:20is going to be to the lee of high ground, perhaps north east Scotland, north eastern
01:24parts of England and once again there is going to be some spells of rain and drizzle at times
01:28too, mainly across Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland, northern England and later on
01:32across parts of south west England.
01:35But once again that milder air spreading more and more across the country so some slightly
01:39milder temperatures particularly if you compare it to what we've seen in the week, highs of
01:43generally around 13 to 14 degrees.
01:47Now what's next for the rest of the weekend?
01:50Well there is going to be some rain at times, pushing in later on Saturday through into
01:55Sunday this could be heavy at times too and notice the squeeze in the isobars so it is
01:59going to be quite blustery at times particularly across north west Scotland where we may even
02:03see some gales by the time we reach Sunday.
02:06But for more details on this weekend's weather don't forget you can always subscribe to our
