00:00College football playoff rankings, Joe, were released yesterday in order, Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, SMU, Indiana, Boise State, and Clemson, if the season ended today. Now, granted, the Big 12 is going to find its way into that and bounce around. There will be major changes between this weekend and next week in these rankings. If we are looking at the rankings as a whole now, any disagreements in the top 12 will still be there.
00:30Let's start there first, Joe.
00:31Yeah, I would put Notre Dame the way they're playing ahead of Penn State. I'm just not sold on Penn State. Got pushed to the limit again by an average or just slightly above average Minnesota team.
00:43They didn't win. They won, but didn't cover. I think Notre Dame should be definitely the number four ranked team in the country ahead of the Nittany Lions. The love for Penn State is absolutely ridiculous.
00:56I understand why they put SMU and Indiana right there. I do understand that because of the losses and what transpired with the upsets. I do feel like SMU is deserving, maybe slightly ahead of Tennessee just because of the body of work.
01:12Their one loss was only to BYU. They've hammered teams as well. So, again, don't have that much of a problem with it. The biggest issue I do have is having Penn State ranked ahead of the likes of Notre Dame and some of the other teams, even Miami for that matter. Penn State's body of work to me is ridiculous.
01:31Let's get outside the top 12 because it's fascinating this game this weekend, Joe. Clemson and South Carolina. I have to be honest. I see South Carolina and haven't really talked about them much in making the playoff. There's a legitimate chance they go out and knock off Clemson. They find their way into the college football playoff. Beamer ball. Outstanding. Give me some options on South Carolina, Joe, sneaking into this top 12.
01:58Well, they would have had an easier slate, Donnie. I'm with you. I think for them. Whoa. I don't know.
02:05Yeah. Oh, Joe, where did you go? I mean, it's too much. The Bitcoin. Did they just surge your house? Are you mining Bitcoin right now? What happened?
02:14I was searched. Have no idea what happened. Wow. Yes. In regards to South Carolina money that they would have an easier path if they would have won one of those games against LSU or Alabama. They lost Alabama by basically two points. They were in striking distance of LSU.
02:32Had a 17 to nothing first half lead allowed it to slip. If they were only a two loss football team and go out this weekend and hammer Clemson, they would have no argument being in the college football playoff. They win this weekend. They're going to need help. They're going to need maybe Tennessee to drop that game on the road in Nashville.
02:51They're going to need maybe Indiana to lose to Purdue in terms of a rivalry game. So that that's what you need to happen. I mean, it's unfortunate, but South Carolina does have a shot, but they're going to need the likes of some of those other teams, even Miami to potentially drop drop a game to Syracuse this weekend. If that happens, that opens the door.
