00:02 So Donnie, as a lot of people say when it comes to the college football playoff rankings,
00:06 why should I care about the second set of rankings in early November?
00:10 Wake me up in December on that final Saturday of the year and then when the final rankings
00:16 are revealed on Sunday to determine the four teams that will play in the college football
00:20 playoff, those people Donnie might actually know what they're saying this year because
00:25 a lot will be ironed out and a lot is yet to be determined. These second set of rankings
00:31 really don't matter all that much.
00:33 No, they really don't matter all that much because things will be settled on the field.
00:36 This was just a debate team going back and forth and the season was already over. And
00:40 yeah, things might change week to week because nothing is happening on the football field.
00:44 And also some of the old adages still are built in here, even though we're in the BCS
00:48 era slash even pre BCS era. It's when you lose sometimes that football game is what
00:54 matters most here. And sometimes you take a look and say, well, what happens if Washington
00:57 and Oregon both finished the season with one loss beating each other? I got news for you
01:01 here. Oregon's going to go over Washington because you have to drop them behind them
01:05 in the polls at that point, which means the committee is going to take that under value.
01:09 And also it's what have you done for me lately? Yes, Oregon did get beat by Washington in
01:14 Washington. But if they return the favor, you're going to estimate that. Oh, look at
01:17 that. Looks like the better team at this moment is going to be Oregon over Washington. I don't
01:22 want to hear anything. Oh, well, you got to wait on the same. And when you play, it doesn't
01:25 matter. That's ridiculous here. It's why back in the day, college football teams would take
01:29 on that really good opponent and maybe a kickoff classic, lose that football game to go. Guys,
01:34 the season isn't over. We'll drop from number three to number 13. We have 10 more games
01:38 here to make up that ground to make it back up into the national championship picture.
01:42 There's a reason why most of them say, hey, let's go to our toughest game for the last
01:45 game of the season. Why, if we lose it, we have no shot at playing for a national championship
01:50 here. So that factors in here. But again, the point of the premise is this will be played
01:54 out on the field.
01:55 Yeah.
