00:00And Kev, on this desk exactly a week ago, you basically predicted this, saying that
00:08if Texas, as expected, as nearly a two-touchdown favorite, did beat Clemson, the odds were
00:14telling you they were only 10 cents behind Oregon entering the opening round to win a
00:18national championship.
00:20If Texas won at home, they would be the national title favorites.
00:24And what do we see entering the quarterfinal round?
00:26Texas as the national championship favorites.
00:29Which again, it's great to read the market, and I know I'm singing the same song, but
00:34I'm going to keep singing it.
00:36The format is abysmal.
00:38It is inarguable that Oregon would have been better off losing to Penn State than winning
00:42that game.
00:43They would have been slated fifth.
00:46They would have played Clemson.
00:47They would have advanced the play hours.
00:49They would have had this path.
00:50This is what would have been theirs had they won that game.
00:56They are an underdog, and look, I'm not going to act like they're catching seven, but look
01:01at the gap in the national title price between them and Ohio State.
01:05Not just between them and Texas.
01:07They have Ohio State poked well in front of the Ducks, which I think is fascinating.
01:14As much as I could easily sit here and go, told you Oregon's not that good, which there's
01:19an air of, don't get it wrong, but this is about a completely broken format.
01:26I am someone that wanted expansion, I'm happy I got expansion, but I said on day one when
01:32that format came out, woof, they got that wrong.
01:35I fully believe this format does not last beyond this year.
01:40Because Lacey, I know back the Ducks, and I know you'll say that this is disrespectful,
01:45but this also should not be the case.
01:48This is not the game Oregon should be playing here in round number two.
01:53No, but they have to take care of business, so I understand they're up against it, right?
01:59You never want to face a team that potentially you're equally matched with or in a revenge
02:04type of situation, but it's unfortunate, but I'll just say this.
02:08It did happen last year the reverse way, with Oregon laying both times to Washington.
02:13And Washington in the Pac-12 championship was a seven point dog to Bo Nix, and they
02:18stepped up, right?
02:19The disrespect that was given to Washington Huskies and Michael Pinnocks, nobody thought
02:23they could do it, right?
02:24We thought Oregon was the much better team, they were priced, they lost that game in the
02:28fourth quarter.
02:29Oh, it was Lanning, it was a poor choice, it was the decisions going for it on fourth
02:35and two.
02:36If they just did this and that, they would have won the game.
02:38And then in the Pac-12 championship game, they take care of business and win the ball
02:43game outright.
02:44I still feel that Oregon's one of the best teams in the country.
02:47You want to give me now from plus 350 to plus 480, I think it's great value.
02:51I think they match up very well against Ohio State.
02:54I'll just say this, the one team that I maybe changed my approach on, I'm starting to like
03:00Notre Dame more and more.
03:01At seven to one, that, it goes beyond the victory from Indiana.
03:07It's just, you see what they're built in, in terms of the interior line, and think about
03:13Georgia, and think about Georgia's struggles this year.
03:17Mobile quarterbacks have given them a problem, you know, they have struggled with Haynes
03:20King and Jalen Milrow, and again, you still lose a veteran quarterback, whether you believe
03:26a Gunner Stockton is legit, he's got to now prove that in the national stage, biggest
03:33game of his career.
03:34That's a huge cause of concern for me.
03:36That game working closer to a pick, and we'll take a look at the early lines for our quarter
03:41final matchups in our next segment.
03:43Now just a point and a half in favor of Georgia.
03:46Is there a bet that you think you have to make right now for a team to win a national
03:50championship?
03:51So that is actually the key thing, right?
03:53So let's just say if we get chalk, right, no upsets, and I know there are short lines.
03:57Yeah.
03:58Texas, Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, I think it's on the board that Georgia actually
04:03goes to title favorites, because I think they will be a bigger favorite than whoever's favorite
04:10in Texas, Ohio State, which I'm not even sure.
04:13I think it would be Ohio State, but yes, very small.
04:17I think Georgia, it all depends how the games looks.
04:20I do believe Georgia would lay to Penn State.
04:22Would lay against Penn State.
04:23I would agree.
04:24I wonder how the odds makers see Penn State.
04:26They have been an underdog against Oregon and Ohio State, but often booked as a favorite.
