00:00In the face of the challenges we have, of a world that is fragmented more and more,
00:08the university, in my opinion, is a world exposed to a very rapid technological innovation,
00:13the university does not play a double role.
00:15First of all, a meeting point between cultures and between people with a different background.
00:21Tor Vergata has a strong presence of students who come from other realities, not Italian.
00:26This obviously increases the cultural thickness of an antenna.
00:31The second important element, in a world that has many innovations,
00:35the university must increasingly become the subject that promotes technological innovation.
00:41In the world, in the United States, universities are strongly connected
00:45with the concept of technological transfer and then the birth of new businesses.
00:49So the university as an incubator of new products, new ideas, new projects
00:54that can then have a development on the market.
00:56The biggest challenges are those of making sure that,
00:59despite the fact that the world is fragmenting into blocks, dialogue continues.
01:03This is very important and it is what is needed.
01:08Closing means, let's say, going back in history.
01:12Instead, we must never forget that we have lived,
01:15from the Second World War to today, a very long period of peace.
01:20And this was due, thanks in particular, to dialogue.
01:23So to continue to remain interconnected with our neighbors,
01:26with those who are further away, with the countries furthest away,
01:29and to continue to develop culture and common ideas.
