00:00It is a center that looks to the future and for this reason our ministry is on the field
00:09with all the support tools in the enabling technologies.
00:13Think that we have decided with the other giants of the G7, in the recent ministerial summit
00:19of the G7 of the industry and technologies that took place last week here in Rome,
00:24to establish in Italy, here in Rome, in the next year, in 2025,
00:30the hub for the development of artificial intelligence in the south of the world
00:36and therefore mainly in Africa.
00:38The fact that it is established here with the concurrence of the United Nations
00:43and the other greats of the G7 puts our city, our capital, our country
00:50on what is the great challenge, that of transferring artificial intelligence to others,
00:56to those who need it the most, in this case to the African continent.
01:00Much of what I have seen is realized by the Italian enterprise.
01:05Just as yesterday in Milan, inaugurating with the President of the Republic
01:10the international meeting on space with thousands of participants,
01:17astronauts, technicians, researchers, made us aware today as yesterday
01:23of how Italy can face as a protagonist, in some cases as a leader, the challenge of the future.
01:29On the other hand, if we go back in time, we, more than others,
01:35have faced and won these challenges in our history.
01:40The vortex that grows the most among our exports is the pharmaceutical industry,
01:47the science of life, and the investments of many multinationals
01:54made in recent months in Italy, in the field of the science of life,
01:59of biotechnology, of pharmaceuticals, make us understand how we can be at the forefront
02:04and we have an ecosystem that is extremely favourable to the development of what man really needs
02:10to improve his quality of life.
02:13In the first nine months of this year, we have also made over 9 billion investments
02:19on microelectronics, on what is then the chip, the semiconductor,
02:24what is at the centre of green technology and digital technology.
02:28And in this field there is no North and South,
02:31because we have marked 5 billion and 100 million in Catania, Etna Valley, with microelectronics
02:37and 3.2 billion instead in Novara, in Piedmont, with a multinational and foreign company, Silicon Box.
02:44Here, the future belongs to the whole country and the ability to develop it,
02:50both in the North and in the South.
02:53We are about to present in the Council of Ministers the link to the economic maneuver
02:58on enabling technologies, which we will dedicate specifically to the development of quantum mechanics
03:04and you will find that it is developing at its best both in the CINECA of Bologna
03:09and in the Universities of Naples, because we know how to think about the future, perhaps more than others.
