00:00The League of the Golden Thread has always been on the side of the deaf and blind and affected by sensory pluridisability,
00:09has celebrated in Rome its 60 years of activity, also presenting the new campaign with the title
00:1660 years we don't celebrate, we do it together. Rossano Bartoli, who presides over it, commented on this achievement.
00:24The 60 years of the League of the Golden Thread represent an important event at the national level
00:31for the life and the future of people who live in the condition of deafness.
00:37The first years were pioneering years, like all organizations,
00:42where an activity was given life, starting from organizing summer homes
00:47until the first center was built in Le Marche and so on in 11 Italian regions.
00:53This means that thanks to the commitment and passion of many, but also to the solidarity of our supporters,
01:03we were able to grow and develop the services.
01:07The League of the Golden Thread carries out its activities thanks to the work of volunteers and collaborators
01:11and to the support provided by the donations of its supporters.
01:15The mission of the League has been shared and promoted for years by public figures such as Neri Marcoretti.
01:20I am a witness to the thanks to my friend Renzo Arbore, who has been for many years and who wanted to double.
01:29We are a kind of guarantors for the people who donate to the League of the Golden Thread,
01:40telling them that everything you donate ends up helping the deaf.
01:46We realize the condition of these people and then it becomes easier and more natural to try to do something to help them.
01:58Getting in touch with the League can change the fate of a deaf person.
02:02This is the case of Francesco, a boy born with a rare pathology of genetic origin,
02:08the Norri syndrome.
02:10Francesco, as Anna Maria's mother tells us, has achieved important achievements
02:14after being welcomed and followed by the Center of the League of the Golden Thread in Osimo in Marche.
02:19The meeting with the League of the Golden Thread was important because it taught us,
02:23our parents, first of all, to be able to have a channel of communication with him.
02:28They introduced a communication called objective communication
02:32and he, with these objects, manages to give us the opportunity to understand what he wants at that moment.
02:40For Francesco, therefore, it was also very important for us to meet the League of the Golden Thread
02:45precisely because it put us in communication and put Francesco in communication with the world.
02:52The League of the Golden Thread Foundation is a philanthropic entity
02:55present in 11 Italian regions with services, territorial headquarters, residential centers and urns.
03:01through which it provides diagnostic, educational, rehabilitative and socio-educational support.
03:07Last year it reached the record of followed users, which are currently over 1,200.
