00:00There is no welfare without full accessibility to cultural heritage.
00:09It is from this reflection that the Art and Culture project of the National Institute of Social Prevention is born,
00:14which takes place in Palazzo Piacentini in Milan, the headquarters of the IMS in the Lombard capital,
00:19with the Contemporary Exhibition for Responsible Art, which sees the sponsorship,
00:24in addition to the Municipality of Milan and the Region of Lombardy, also of the Ministry of Culture,
00:28an endorsement that highlights the institutional value of the initiative.
00:32Our project has two main goals today.
00:37The first goal is to enhance the architectural and artistic heritage of the IMS.
00:43We have buildings and architecture that we want to make known to everyone.
00:48At the same time, we want to improve the quality of life of the citizens,
00:53and we will do this also through culture,
00:57because culture is one of the most powerful tools to achieve these goals.
01:01Within the exhibition, which is part of the Milan Art Week,
01:05there is a space for works by artists referring to different styles,
01:09a metaphor for the variety of public to which the new IMS, designed by President Fava, aims to address.
01:15Culture creates inclusion, goes towards the improvement of quality of life,
01:20and active inclusion in the world of work and social life.
01:24This is why, with this spirit, we are starting today
01:28with the inauguration of the Contemporary Exhibition for Responsible Art in this building.
01:33The Piacentini Building is one of the most beautiful architectures of the first century.
01:38It is the first stage of a series of structural events,
01:42aimed at making culture accessible to everyone.
01:49Free of charge.
01:51Eliminating economic and social barriers.
01:54Today, more than ever, there is no future,
01:57especially for the new generations, without culture.
02:01And this, you see, is well understood by our founding fathers,
02:05when, with Article 9, they committed the State
02:10to promote culture and art, also in favor of the interests of future generations.
02:15Today, more than ever, young people must approach us
02:21and we want to address them.
02:25We will do this today, for example, also through culture,
02:29because we will speak with their language.
