00:00A senator assured that the national budget for the next year will be available for calamities and quick relief, especially for the next typhoons that will pass through the country.

00:11This is Daniel Manalastas' report.

00:14As the typhoons pass by, a senator assured that the passing of the 2025 national budget will help with the fund of calamities.

00:24Based on the committee report of the Senate Committee on Finance, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund received P21 billion.

00:33This is higher than the current budget for this year.

00:36Senator Grace Poe said that this increase is for the immediate needs of our countrymen during calamities.

00:43If the communities have the right to live, they will be able to respond quickly and will be able to save lives.

00:51Poe also said that this will help in the revival and restarting of our countrymen in need.

00:58Earlier, the Department of Agrarian Reform participated in the budget deliberations.

01:02A senator mentioned the land in Porak, Pampanga.

01:06Not only did Pogo Hub have land there, but the land that Pogo Hub built in Porak was awarded by DAR to the farmers.

01:17There was a conversion, the DAR revoked the conversion, but they went on appeal.

01:23Senator Riza Honteveros also asked how the land acquisition and distribution is going.

01:28How many hectares of land is still left to distribute?

01:31161,000 hectares.

01:34In 2024, they distributed 61,000 hectares.

01:38The administration still has four years.

01:40So before, the DAR should have distributed everything before the administration closed.

01:48The Senate deliberations for the 2025 proposed national budget will continue this Sunday.
