One thing worse than not being equally yoked in a relationship is to be equally yoked in the wrong direction. In other words, we both believe the same lies, so we have extra strength, extra power, extra momentum—all pulling us in the wrong direction.

It’s important to be equally yoked, but it is so important we are pulling in the right direction.

A lot of times, we want to be yoked so much--we want to be in a relationship so much--we are willing to go any direction just to be in one. When we do that, we can cheer each other on straight in to the pit of hell—not just hell, but hell in this life. And then when all the wheels finally come off and everything goes to pieces, we are mad at each other for cheering each other in the wrong direction.

So, be equally yoked—but you need to be equally yoked and going in the right direction. You both need to be following the truth. If you don’t know what the truth is—His name is Jesus.

Trust God’s Word no matter what, because His word is truth.

Keep your eyes on the horizon.
