00:00There are no big news from the pharmacological point of view, but what is important is a
00:09systematization of the existing one, fundamentally. What is important today is to understand how
00:19the anticoagulant treatments, both in primary and secondary profiles, must be applied.
00:26That is, the patients must go to a treatment at an undetermined time, how they must be
00:33selected, what their hemorrhagic risks are. In the presidential symposium, for example,
00:38an important point has been made on the issues related to the hemorrhagic risk of oral anticoagulation
00:46of the elderly, that is, with a shift of the balance between risk and benefit in these subjects.
00:56Another important point, we had an American researcher, Prof. Stephen Moll, from the
01:03University of North Carolina in the United States, who made an overview on the problems of the
01:10research of congenital thrombophilia, following an event of a venous embolism, with a whole
01:17systematization of the problems related to the research, both in the subjects affected
01:25by thrombosis and in their blood relatives in the case of congenital thrombophilia.
01:34We are born as a transversal scientific society, in which there are, and multidisciplinary
01:42by definition, biologists, doctors, and among the doctors we have internal hematologists,
01:50cardiologists, anesthetists, obstetricians. So, to meet all together is fundamental for
01:58a circulation of ideas. I must say that the National Congress is an important meeting
02:08point, after years of the pandemic, to confront each other in an informal way during the
02:15moments of break between sessions.
