00:00For our fellow countrymen out there, the journey to Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will now open.

00:07Details in the words of Isaiah Mirapuentes.

00:12After more than 6 years of waiting,

00:15Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will now open this month.

00:19There will be 5 additional stations under Phase 1.

00:24These are the Redemptory Station,

00:26Mia Road Station,

00:28Asia World Station,

00:29Ninoy Aquino Avenue Station,

00:31and Dr. Santos Avenue Station.

00:34It is expected that Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will open this month of November.

00:41This is what DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista said.

00:45We are here to announce the partial opening of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 Extension.

00:54This is the Cavite Extension.

00:57This will be a big achievement for commuters,

01:00just like Michael from Bacoora.

01:03He is happy because he will save a lot of time and money.

01:08It is better for us, Filipinos,

01:12the people of Mananacay,

01:13to reach Metro Manila faster.

01:17Especially for the people of Cavite.

01:21The transaction will be faster, especially for the workers.

01:25The LRT-1 will open a new 6-kilometer-long line.

01:29So, our current trip from Fernandepo, Jr. to Baclaran,

01:36that's a total of, I think, 35 pesos total.

01:39Now, because of this additional 6 kilometers and additional 5 stations,

01:44then there is a corresponding increment in terms of distance.

01:49So, we're looking at around, I think it's going to be 45 pesos.

01:53The LRT-1 is expected to serve up to 80,000 passengers a day

02:00because of these additional stations.

02:02This will add up to more than 320,000 daily rideships of the LRT-1.

02:08The commuters will save up to 30 minutes

02:13once the LRT-1 extension is opened.

02:16Maybe, traveling will be easier.

02:19It will be easier for the commuters.

02:22From the 20-kilometer-long LRT-1,

02:25now, it will reach 26 kilometers.

02:29According to DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista,

02:32this is an early Christmas gift for residents living in areas

02:38near the new train line.

02:40The government is also hoping that this will be a big gift

02:43to reduce the heavy traffic.

02:47This is the very first railway project

02:51that will be opened under the administration of Marcos.

02:55They will also discuss how to implement free rides.

03:00We don't have any discussion yet

03:02to provide free rides at this point in time.

03:06So, we're focusing on making sure that

03:09the travel would be safe for the moment.

03:11So, we're concentrating more operational and safety matters.

03:15Meanwhile,

03:16those who are waiting for the opening of Phase 2 and 3

03:20of the LRT-1 Kavita Extension,

03:22according to DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista,

03:26this is still in the planning stage

03:28because the right-of-way issues are still being resolved.

03:32But the government's target is to complete this

03:35under the current administration.
