00:00who I wanted to briefly discuss the Joel Embiid news that came out.
00:07Oh, yeah.
00:09We we know that he got into an altercation with a reporter
00:12where he allegedly assaults him.
00:16But I mean, rightfully so, based off of the news
00:18that's coming out, that this reporter was mentioning,
00:22you know, his late brother, his child, things that are completely unnecessary
00:27in regards to covering sports.
00:29But they have made their decision.
00:33The following was released by the NBA
00:36in regards to the situation, the 76ers center.
00:40Joel Embiid has been suspended three games without pay
00:43for shoving a member of the media.
00:45It was announced today by Joe Dumas.
00:48Embiid's actions took place in the 76ers locker room
00:50following the team's 124 to 107 loss to the Grizzlies.
00:56It goes on to say mutual respect is paramount
00:59to the relationship between players and media.
01:01And the NBA, Joe Dumas said, Oh, we understand.
01:04Joel Joel was offended by the personal nature
01:07of the original version of the reporter's column.
01:11Interactions must remain professional on both sides and never turn physical.
01:16So is that that?
01:22Here's what I would say.
01:24Yes. And here's why you got to be careful.
01:28My biggest complaint about being.
01:30An athlete was it neutered you.
01:35So you have people that can do or say anything.
01:40And you're not and no, you're not going to respond to them as men.
01:46And for a person.
01:50Who is writing about sports?
01:53The other stuff that he's writing about has no place.
01:59In the article, no place.
02:02So, well, I agree with the stance to lead to.
02:09I think the writer knew where he was going with that.
02:13You see what I mean?
02:14Yeah, for sure. You got to know better, man.
02:16Yeah. And so these are people I've never.
02:20Although I don't condone condone violence.
02:24Or that type of aggression.
02:28I'm not going to get on him.
02:31For being a man.
02:34Right for, you know, thinking, hey, man, you got no right.
02:40To go after me personally, if you want to say I suck at basketball, that's fine.
02:44Leave my personal stuff out of it.
02:47And I'm more than sure the guy had a smart ass comment coming back.
02:52And that's why Joel and B went after.
02:54It didn't just end like that, because if it meant no harm. Right.
03:01And. All you had to do.
03:06Was. Say, no, no, no, hey, Joel, Joel.
03:13I don't know, like I wasn't trying to go there.
03:16I was just trying to, you know, because then he got snippy at the end with
03:19and Joel's not playing.
03:21So the whole tone of the article.
03:24Right. If you bring some personal into it,
03:26it's not going to come across very positive.
03:29Yeah, and I will say that prior to me
03:32even finding out the details of who it was and what happened,
03:38a lot of people were commenting underneath, speculating
03:40that it was a certain reporter that I can imagine is someone
03:44who gets under the skin of players or like is known.
03:48Again, right.
03:49Like so. So my question is.
03:54You know what you were doing?
03:56See, when people do things.
04:01To get a reaction.
04:04You can't then be surprised at the reaction you get.
04:07Because we're all different.
04:10You know, it's like when people come at you
04:13and you all come and collect and that's not good enough.
04:16And then they want to get you until you get riled up.
04:20And then you react the way they want you to react.
04:23And I'm just saying it ain't going to be in your,
04:27you know, confines of what you accept.
04:30You see what I mean?
04:31So I just think we need to leave the personal stuff out of it.
04:36You can talk about Joel and being in the basketball
04:38and the fact that he's not playing.
04:41But at no point in time, like even down here.
04:44Right. We had an issue.
04:48We didn't know what the issue was.
04:50Did he do an excellent job of keeping personal stuff out of it?
04:54Yeah. Then we found out with the
04:57with the Netflix thing with Jimmy.
05:00But nobody went at him like that.
05:03Right. For sure.
05:05And so you keep it professional.
05:09And so the fact that.
05:14You will look at a reporter who's been doing it
05:16for 20 plus years or older guy.
05:19And then look at a 20, 30 year old
05:22and say the 30 year old is supposed to be more professional than him.
05:27Is a joke in itself.
05:29We can all be professional, but if you want professionalism,
05:33how about giving it?
05:35Nobody ever thinks about that.
05:37So what, Joel, probably shouldn't have been that way.
05:41But at the same time underneath, I'm doing a fist pump because, yeah,
05:45you asked for the beast and you got it. Yeah.
05:49Sometimes people try to be tough.
05:51So, hey, everybody get tough till they get punched in the face.
05:55Then they ain't so tough.
05:57Then they why? Why?
05:59Oh, too late now, buddy. Too late.
06:02How would you think that I did it to you?
06:04Right. Exactly.
