00:00Data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council or NDRRMC showed the
00:06country's air assets with the help of those from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam
00:12have already completed 60 disaster response operations. This got the attention of President
00:18Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who expressed appreciation for the help given by the international community
00:24in bringing aid to areas that are submerged in floodwaters. Meanwhile, Department of National
00:30Defense or DND Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. urged local government units or LGUs to implement
00:36forced evacuation in areas that will be hard to reach once disaster strikes. He explained it is
00:43based to err on the side of caution to prevent loss of lives. For their part, the Department
00:48of Environment and Natural Resources or DENR has identified the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley and
00:55Cordillera as areas of concern with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau monitoring pag-asas forecast
01:02to warn residents in areas that are flood and landslide prone. The Department of Social Welfare
01:07and Development or DSWD, on the other hand, underscored the need for LGUs to designate
01:12centralized drop-off points for relief and non-food items while the armed forces of the
01:18Philippines or AFP says around 300 search and rescue teams are on standby as well as
01:24Black Hawk helicopters for the expected onslaught of Marci.
