00:00DND chief and NDRRMC chair Gilberto Teodoro Jr. vows pre-emptive evacuation at a moment's notice
00:08in the northwestern Luzon region while the DENR is in close touch with PAGASA for pinpoint weather
00:14forecasting to alert villages or communities in the path of landslides or flood-prone locations.
00:21PTV's Patrick de Jesus has more on this multi-agency initiative
00:26and disaster response in preparation for Marseille.
00:31Local governments in the areas potentially thought to be affected by Typhoon Marseille
00:36have been tasked to implement forced evacuation in areas difficult to reach with aid
00:42and rescuers when calamity strikes. Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, who also serves
00:48as the chairperson of the NDRRMC, said it's better to be proactive to save more lives
00:55from a disaster. Judgment call yan ng local disaster risk reduction and management councils
01:04but the thing is the earlier the better for for us. I mean it's no problem to err on the
01:12side of caution. Kahit hindi umulan, nandun lahat at least ligtas. According to the DNR,
01:18the areas of concern are the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera.
01:25The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the DNR is also monitoring PAGASA's forecast
01:31to alert barangays located or situated in landslide and flood-prone areas.
01:49LGUs are also required to set up centralized drop-off points for relief goods and non-food
02:17items. The DSWD has prepared 300,000 family food packs for those to be affected by Typhoon Marse.
02:26These are part of the over a million stockpile of family food packs while the repacking station
02:32in Central Luzon will also be activated to speed up aid delivery to Northern Luzon.
02:48DSWD is constantly monitoring the different evacuation centers.
02:53Around 300 AFP search and rescue teams are on standby for Typhoon Marse with airlift capabilities
03:01including blackhawk helicopters that are prepared for the delivery of food and non-food items.
03:08Security operations of the armed forces will not be interrupted despite providing aid during the
03:15typhoon. The inter-agency coordinating cell has been reactivated to ensure faster coordination
03:32among government agencies now that another typhoon is being monitored.
