00:00So let's start with the big story today in the National Football League, where we have
00:07another coach in the NFL that has been fired.
00:09Not a huge surprise, as the New Orleans Saints lose to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
00:14That cost Dennis Allen his job.
00:16A big favorite, of course, yesterday going in to Carolina, they end up taking the loss.
00:22Allen went 18-25 in two-plus seasons in New Orleans, taking over for Sean Payton, failing
00:27to make the playoffs twice.
00:29Certainly, the Saints got off to a great start, 2-0 to start the season, but it has gone downhill
00:36ever since.
00:37Darren Rizzi will take over as interim head coach of the Saints.
00:41They play the Atlanta Falcons coming up this Sunday.
00:44Meanwhile, some news from the National Basketball Association, as future Hall of Fame coach
00:49Greg Popovich is taking a leave of absence due to health issues.
00:53He'll be away from the Spurs, from the team indefinitely.
00:57As just reported by ESPN, about 30 minutes ago, Greg Popovich not on the sidelines for
01:02the Spurs moving forward.
01:05Last night in the National Football League, the Colts made a change at quarterback, and
01:09it looked just about how it has all season long, unfortunately, for them, as Joe Flacco
01:14couldn't get anything going on offense, and the Vikings' defense has just been fantastic.
01:17They end up beating the Indianapolis Colts and riding the ship, so to speak, with a 21-13
01:25for the Vikings.
01:26And Sam Darnold, as I mentioned, their defense dominated.
01:28The only touchdown for the Colts, by the way, was a defensive touchdown in this game.
01:34So really good news for the Vikings getting back on track.
01:36Bad news for the Colts.
01:37Seems like they have a major quarterback problem, but let's hear from Kevin O'Connell on the
01:41big win for his team at home.
01:43All right, proud of our team.
01:45You know, adversity, absolutely something that I was proud the way we responded.
01:52There was a lot of things that we really wanted to emphasize, starting with our defense.
01:56I thought they were really the backbone tonight for us, not only forcing two turnovers with
02:03Murph and Harry, but just the way they were able to answer the bell, even on a short field
02:08there in the second half.
02:10Credit to Flo, his staff, and all of our players for that effort.
02:16Thought our team, limited penalties.
02:18I don't think we had any pre-snap things offensively.
02:22Really tried to obviously emphasize that.
02:23I know it's been talked about at length, but a good example, if we at least start there,
02:30I think we averaged almost six yards of play, moved it all night.
02:34Some critical turnovers, and then we've got a, even against a good front with a new left
02:39tackle, still the expectation is just to protect Sam a little bit more, give him an opportunity
02:46to keep getting the ball out of his hands.
02:49Thought there was some huge performances from Jets.
02:51Loved the way Cam Akers popped a little bit, coming in there, really showing what he's
02:57capable of.
02:59And then Jordan Addison's catch was one of the better catches over there in a pretty
03:03critical moment.
03:06It was a great day for the Vikings, and a bad day again for the Dallas Cowboys.
03:11They lost the game to the Falcons, and may end up losing their quarterback, Dak Prescott,
03:16who left the game with an injured hamstring.
03:19He's going to undergo an MRI, but naturally the Cowboys went to Cooper Rush in this game
03:24late.
03:25They did not pick up a win, and their season's certainly on the brink ahead of the trade
03:28deadline.
03:29Maybe they'll trade for a quarterback.
03:31That deadline, by the way, is tomorrow.
03:32Meanwhile, as we mentioned, Cowboys end up losing in Atlanta.
03:36Falcons cover the spread.
03:37The score was 51-and-a-half, 27-to-21 was the final.
03:40Falcons are now 6-and-3 on the season.
03:43The Bills and Dolphins slugged it out on offense yesterday.
03:47Back and forth they went in the second half of this game, 30-to-27 the final.
03:51As Tyler Bass kicks a 61-yard field goal to pick up the win, Josh Allen also had a nice
03:59game.
04:00In fact, had a rush for a touchdown callback with a very skeptical holding penalty, I would
04:04say.
04:05That's something that his team gets the division with.
04:07I'm so proud of him.
04:09So happy for him.
04:10I got emotional in my little post-game speech out there.
04:14Just the trials and tribulations that he's been throughout this year, obviously missing
04:18one early in the day, hitting the pole on another, you know, he could have easily put
04:23it in the tank.
04:24And 61-yard field goal to win a game against a division rival, that's what stories are
04:30made of.
04:31And I love him.
04:32I respect him so much.
04:34Everybody in that locker room is so happy for him, and he's our guy.
04:39He was a great kicker, at least for a day, was Tyler Bass.
04:42Now meanwhile, the most exciting game of the day came in overtime in Seattle.
04:46As the Rams end up beating the Seahawks by a final of 26-to-20, Matthew Stafford threw
04:51a touchdown pass to Demarcus Robinson, that was the game winner.
04:55And 48-and-a-half was the total, so this just went under that.
04:57Also Jared Goff and the Lions, unstoppable.
04:59They go to Green Bay, it was rainy, the weather was horrible, and Goff won a bad weather game.
05:05I don't want to hear about that anymore.
05:0624-to-14, the Lions pick up the win.
05:07All right, Derek Henry making his case maybe to be the offensive player of the year in
05:12the National Football League.
05:13Another big game.
05:14He cracks a top-10 all-time in rushing touchdowns.
05:16The Ravens annihilated the Broncos by a final of 41-to-10.
05:21Ravens were eight-and-a-half point favorites in this game.
05:23The total was 46-and-a-half.
05:25Bo Nix finally met a match that he could not overcome in the Ravens, but the Broncos, according
05:31to Nix, still in a decent spot.
05:33Well, they were obviously really important plays in the game, and if you hit them, you
05:37never know what happens at the end of the drive.
05:40We came away with no points on several of those four downs, and we just, you never know.
05:46So obviously, if you hit those, the game, I guess, could change, but a lot of what-ifs
05:53in this game, and the fact of the matter is, we got our butts kicked.
05:57We definitely would have liked to change some of those plays.
06:04Definitely wish a few of them went in our favor, but, I mean, I guess, like I said,
06:11we just gotta, you know, hit some of those plays, and you never know what happens in
06:15the game, but, you know, we just gotta execute better.
06:20Impressive game, I thought, for the Baltimore Ravens in that one in particular.
06:24Meanwhile, the good season for the Chargers in the first year of Jim Harbaugh coaching
06:27continues.
06:29They crush the Browns 27-10.
06:31Jameis Winston on the other side threw three interceptions, and meanwhile, the Washington
06:34Commanders just keep on winning.
06:36They go to New York, they win again.
06:38Final score, 27-22.
06:41Washington was playing without Brian Robinson in this game, but Austin Eckler subbed in,
06:45and he scored a touchdown pass.
06:47By the way, Washington covers the number.
06:50The Giants went for a late two-point conversion, didn't get it.
06:53The Cardinals win their third straight.
06:55They are charging toward first place in the NFC West.
06:58I know, sounds crazy, but it's true.
07:0029-9 over the Bears.
07:01Joe Burrow gets things going for the Cincinnati Bengals.
07:04They pick up an easy win over the Raiders, 41-24.
07:07Raiders also fired some coaches after the game.
07:09We'll talk about that in a minute.
07:10We mentioned the Saints, of course, losing to Carolina.
07:13Titans beat the Patriots late 20-17.
07:15Tony Pollard, big game.
07:16Wasn't even supposed to play in this one, and he did.
07:1720-17, and the Eagles beat the Jaguars 28-23.
07:21Saquon Barkley, huge game, over 100 yards rushing.
07:24Also scoring a touchdown.
07:25All right, now let's get to the top 25 poll in college football.
07:29We're getting ready for the official announcement for the college football playoff,
07:32which is coming up later today.
07:33Oregon, number one.
07:34Georgia, number two.
07:35Ohio State, three.
07:36Miami moves up to four.
07:37And Texas, number five.
07:38Indiana undefeated there at eight.
07:40Ohio State, of course, beat Penn State on Saturday, 20-13.
07:44The head coach of Penn State arguing with the fans after that game.
07:47How about the Gamecocks?
07:48The upset SEC rival, Texas A&M, 44-20.
07:52As I mentioned, Indiana picks up another win.
07:54And Louisville upsets Clemson on the road.
07:56The Tigers now have two losses on the season.
08:00Very quickly, we go to the National Basketball Association.
08:03They're reopening an investigation into a 2021 incident
08:07involving Los Angeles Lakers center Jackson Hayes
08:10after TMZ posted a video Saturday of the altercation
08:13between him and his then-girlfriend.
08:15Stay tuned.
08:15De'Aaron Fox of the Kings playing through injury to his shooting hand.
08:19They visit Miami tonight.
08:21Paul George will make his season debut against the Suns,
08:23where the Suns are seven-and-a-half-point favorites over Philly tonight.
08:27And Victor Wimbayama and the Spurs are four-and-a-half-point underdogs
08:31in Los Angeles tonight against the Clippers.
