00:00We have obviously the NBA and the NHL playoffs.
00:07And this is the part that gets kind of tough, right, Cam?
00:09It's starting to wind down.
00:11It's really winding down now.
00:12You know, you're down to four teams in the hockey.
00:16Thankfully, those series look like they're going to have some distance.
00:19NBA's down to three teams.
00:21You had one sweep in the East.
00:22You might have a sweep tonight in the West.
00:24And can you believe they're going to go, what is it, nine days if Dallas wins tonight?
00:30Without playing game one of the NBA finals, because they're locked in.
00:33It's next Thursday, June the 6th.
00:36But this is the part, Cam, where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel for the winter sports.
00:43I guess the good thing is, Cam, that means we're just a little bit closer to football, right?
00:47Yep, that's so good.
00:48Yeah, you know, I'm going to hate it when hockey's over and basketball's over.
00:51We'll still have some golf, a couple majors at the end of the summer, Carver.
00:55But the happiest guy at SportsGrid, Dave Cheripan.
00:58He lives for women's softball and baseball.
01:00We love the sport, but I like when the whole board's busy.
01:03I'm even a WNBA guy.
01:04We got that.
01:05So, Carver, we're going to have to dip our beaks into many different summer sports, whatever.
01:10Green, money's green, and candidates, many different colors.
01:13Let's make some.
01:14It's funny, Cam, you say that, because later on on Coast to Coast, I actually have some interesting WNBA numbers for you heading into tonight's action.
01:24I come prepared with everything, Cam, especially, as I said, when we get to this time of the year, you come prepared for everything.
01:30As far as the hoops goes, we'll talk about last night.
01:33The Celtics, they smashed the pace.
01:35You know, you can't even say smashed, Cam.
01:37The weird thing is, is that the Pacers had a, and this is for the charts and graphs crowd, a 90 plus percent win probability in the fourth quarter of three out of the four games in this series.
01:52And yet they got swept in four games.
01:53I got to tell you, Cam, that's pretty hard to do, to have a 90 plus percent win probability in the fourth quarter and still get swept in the series.
02:01But somehow the Pacers managed to do it.
02:05You'll talk to Gabe about it in the next segment when he joins us.
02:07But we talked about it with you too, Carver, when we said the Pacers screwed up game one, you screwed up everything.
02:14It's one of those situations where Boston, you let them off the hook, you had them, you let them beat you.
02:19And then after that, you're like, oh, we knew Boston was going to win the series.
02:22But I got to be honest with you, you think the Pacers are going to get a couple?
02:25That's what I, that's what I was thinking, you know?
02:27But anyway, that first game, heartbreaking.
02:30You got to take care of business when a better team lets you, you know, you got the lead.
02:34You got to finish the job in Indiana.
02:36Horrible in crunch time.
02:38Horrible in crunch time, that's for sure.
02:40And now we send them away.
02:42Boston will wait until next Thursday for game one of the NBA finals, where they're probably going to play the Dallas Mavericks.
02:49Now, this has been thrown around so much the last few days, Cam.
02:52Everyone's been hit over the head with this.
02:54The NBA is obviously the one sport where no one's ever come back from 3-0 in the playoffs to win a series.
03:02You had one come close, right?
03:03Boston forced the seventh game with Miami a year ago, but they weren't able to finish the job in that seventh game.
03:10I was, I'm not totally surprised that the Pacers got swept, Cam.
03:14I'm very surprised that as we come back from this long weekend, that this series is 3-0 with a chance for it to end tonight in Dallas.
03:23I thought that Minnesota, and these games haven't been blowouts by any stretch, but Luka and Kyrie have been so good in crunch time in the last five minutes of these games.
03:33That's the difference, Cam, of why they're sitting here on the doorstep tonight, ready to advance.
03:37Great call, Carver.
03:37Also, too, Anthony Edwards, you know, at the end of games, you know, I know he wants to have it,
03:42but he's passing the ball to other guys on the team.
03:44You got to be the man.
03:45I know you're young, but that's the whole thing.
03:47You got to want the ball in your hands.
03:48Kyrie Irving has been absolutely fantastic.
03:51No BS talk, just delivering great layups from all different angles.
03:54Luka just laughs at people one-on-one with the step back.
03:57He hits it every time, and I'm not going to lie.
03:59We tell the truth on Sports Grid.
04:00When we hit winners, when we hit losers, I thought Minnesota would win the series in seven.
04:04Hell was I wrong, man.
04:06I thought they could actually, after beating Denver, could hang with these guys.
04:09They might get one, Carver, but I don't know, man.
04:12Down the stretch, they're having a lot of problems late in the fourth quarter when games are tight.
04:16I'm very surprised Edwards didn't shoot more in the fourth quarter the other night in game three.
04:20He had such a great third quarter.
04:22He got them back in the game, and for him to really, you know, distribute, I mean,
04:27it doesn't help that some of the guys in the Timberwolves, as soon as they get it in their hands,
04:31I mean, they just fire away.
04:32They don't look to move the ball around at all.
04:34But I thought Edwards would have took over a little bit more in that fourth quarter.
04:37We'll see if he's got to do that tonight to try to get to that fifth game.
04:40Then we have the hockey cam, which, you know, me and Gabe talk about this a lot,
04:45and I'm sure you guys do at night as well, because me and Gabe love stuff like this.
04:48You know, hockey really does themselves a disservice a lot with how they schedule things,
04:52how they take advantage of certain positions that they get put in.
04:56With the NBA potentially being overnight for over a week until next Thursday,
05:01hockey has two series that are both 2-1.
05:04Chance for both of them the next couple nights to get to 2-2,
05:07with no NBA games potentially in their way.
05:11Hockey actually has a chance to take a little center stage here for the next week plus
05:16with some really good conference finals.
05:18And the games have been fantastic, too.
05:20My brother's in town, we're like, that Rangers-Florida game going to overtime.
05:24I'm like, how the hell the Rangers win in this game with Shesterk, and he's on fire.
05:28They don't lose in overtime, this team.
05:30They just, the game goes to overtime, you hit live Rangers.
05:32It's just, I'm basically a robot now.
05:34You're not screwing around with these guys.
05:36And as for Edmonton, they look like they have that game.
05:39That's the whole thing about the Dallas Stars.
05:41They lose the first game, then they come back.
05:43You gotta put a team away.
05:44Two goal leads mean nothing.
05:45And the minute Dallas scored that first goal, and then second,
05:48I told Moretti, I go, Edmonton's done, bro.
05:51They're gonna lose this game.
05:52And then Stu Skinner led in a week one.
05:54Great series, Carver.
05:56I'm on the Stars in this one.
05:57I actually have a Stars-Rangers parlay at 24-1 to meet in the Stanley Cup finals.
06:01I told you about my loser one with the Leafs and the Stars,
06:04but anyway, the Rangers still alive.
06:06And I hedged on Florida because I thought Florida was a better team.
06:08The problem is, the Rangers have a better goaltender.
06:11I actually have, Cam, since we wanna talk about futures
06:14that we have in the till.
06:16I have a Dallas Mavericks-Dallas Stars.
06:19The Dallas-Dallas belt to win both championships.
06:24And hopefully we can get the ball at least into the final here.
06:28I love it!
06:29The Dallas two-step I have for both of them.
06:31So me and Leecey actually both have that.
06:34We put that together a while ago.
06:36So we're rooting hard for that.
06:37Rangers in Florida, game number four tonight in sunrise.
06:41Panthers looking to even that series of two games apiece.
06:44Dallas and Edmonton will play game four tomorrow night in Edmonton.
06:48We'll, of course, go through that later on as well.
06:50We have a full slate of baseball tonight.
06:52Everybody plays on a Tuesday.
06:54We've got Taters coming up later on.
06:56In fact, we do have one doubleheader, Cam,
06:59which we'll give you the numbers for here in the first hour at some point.
07:01The Mets and the Dodgers, who got washed away yesterday,
07:04will play two at Citi Field.
07:07I've already lined them up, Cam.
07:09Otani and Teoscar Hernandez against Tyler Miguel
07:12here in the first game with a doubleheader.
07:14So let's go.
07:15He's pissed at his Dodgers right now.
07:17He's gonna have smoke coming out his ears in the next segment, this team.
07:20How's that win total doing?
07:22They better get on their horse pretty quick.
07:24They got a win total like a 17-game win streak.
