00:00Back with news at home the Senate resumed session today with several key legislation areas in mind

00:05to help the Marcos administration achieve its goals. Among them is a bill that seeks to move

00:10the holding of parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro region to a later date.

00:14Daniel Manalastas has the details.

00:19As the Senate resumes its session, Senate President Francis Escudero said the 2025 national

00:25budget is tops on their list. Earlier as they resumed session, they held a caucus to discuss

00:32the upcoming schedule regarding the budget. Aside from the budget, Escudero earlier said

00:37in an interview they are all set to tackle priority and local bills as well. The Senate

00:43President also filed a bill seeking to move the parliamentary elections for the Bangsamoro region,

00:50citing the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding Sulu as one of the reasons.

01:14Escudero also expressed optimism the President will certify this proposal as urgent.

01:20He also assured there is no hidden agenda or ulterior motive in the bill,

01:25only and absolutely to move the date of the election. But according to Senator Juan Miguel

01:31Zubiri, they need to know the justification and believes the proposal should be studied carefully.
