00:17Senate President Francis Escudero passed a bill to postpone the parliamentary elections

00:24in the Morro Autonomous Region and Muslim Mindanao or BARMM.

00:29It should have been passed by next year.

00:31But in the bill passed by Escudero, the elections will be held on May 11, 2026.

00:39It was based on the Supreme Court's decision that BARMM is no longer included in the Sulu.

00:44The bill has no other content.

00:46It does not change anything in the BARMM law.

00:48It is just a petition to change the elections for the coming year.

00:52But Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri expressed some concerns.

00:59Escudero believes that the bill will be certified as urgent.

01:04The schedule of the Senate and House of Representatives is tight for the upcoming 19th Congress.

01:11It will be debated in the plenary if they were not consulted.
