A calm and largely dry night with only the odd patch of drizzle along the coast and up on the hills in Scotland. The sky will remain overcast for most throughout the night but there will be some clear spells along the southern coast in England and the west of Wales where mist and fog may form. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 04/11/24. 00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office, dry and cloudy, sums
00:05up the weather, not just through Monday night and Tuesday, but indeed for most of the rest
00:09of this week.
00:10It's not completely dry.
00:11That cloud is thick enough for a little drizzle here and there, particularly around some coast
00:14and hills across parts of Scotland.
00:16But for most, I say, we'll just keep a blanket of cloud, which will help to keep the temperatures
00:21up.
00:22Now, we have seen some breaks in the cloud across the southeast where they persist.
00:25It could turn a little foggy as we go through the night.
00:27And with some clearer skies, we could see those temperatures dipping down to four or
00:31five degrees, maybe a little lower across parts of Scotland.
00:34But as you can see, most towns and cities staying up at eight or nine Celsius.
00:39So quite a mild start to Tuesday, a pretty drab start to Tuesday, still some light rain
00:44and drizzle here and there over the hills, over the Pennines, perhaps the east coast
00:47of Scotland.
00:48And through the day, we could see that cloud thickening further west to provide a little
00:52bit of drizzle, particularly again over high ground and around coast, parts of Pembrokeshire
00:55and maybe come the afternoon into the east of Northern Ireland, a few spots of drizzle.
01:00But the vast majority will stay dry.
01:03Most will also stay pretty cloudy, but it should get a little brighter through the day.
01:07Some breaks in the cloud across the southeast and especially northern Scotland could do
01:11all right for sunshine here come the afternoon.
01:13If we see any fog across the southeast, that could take quite a while to clear and that
01:17will suppress the temperatures.
01:18But where we see a bit of sunshine poking through North Wales, northern Scotland, 14,
01:2315 degrees is possible.
01:24For most, though, it's just going to stay cloudy, which means temperatures will be close
01:28to the average 11 or 12 degrees Celsius.
01:31Now, Tuesday evening, if you're heading out to see some fireworks, well, good news is
01:37that most places will be dry, will keep a lot of cloud, which will also help to keep
01:40the temperatures up.
01:41So not especially cold either.
01:43Again, some light rain and drizzle is possible here and then.
01:46The breeze will be picking up in the far northwest and we'll like to see a little bit more in
01:50the way of showery rain drifting in here as we go through the early hours of Wednesday
01:55morning.
01:56But for most, again, we'll keep a lot of cloud and that'll keep those temperatures up.
02:00And that's how we're looking for Wednesday.
02:02Some patchy rain maybe across the Western Isles early on.
02:05That should scoot away.
02:06Again, some light rain and drizzle here and there around coasts and hills, particularly
02:09in the west.
02:10But most will be dry and cloudy.
02:13Maybe a bit more fog around on Wednesday mornings.
02:15In the case after the bonfires of the 5th of November, the 6th of November morning is
02:22often fairly murky.
02:23So there could be some more mist and fog around.
02:25But once that's cleared away, temperatures in the afternoon with a bit of brightness
02:30again climbing into the teens where it stays cloudy, 12 or 13 at the top temperature.
02:35Not a great deal of change through the rest of this week.
02:37High pressure continues to dominate, sitting to the east, weather fronts trying to push
02:42in from the west and maybe making a bit more progress.
02:45The ice is about squidging together as well.
02:47So the winds will be picking up in western areas and this weather front may bring a little
02:50bit of rain into parts of the west come Friday.
02:54But for much of the country, most of the week stays dry and cloud.
