After record-breaking warmth on Halloween, cooler air is set to arrive in much of the Northeast. But don't expect enough rain to make a dent in drought conditions.

00:00for several cities. It's actually been more than a month since the last
00:03measurable rain and let's take a look at the latest drought monitor because it
00:07shows there are several areas seeing severe, even extreme drought,
00:10especially as we look towards Washington D. C. Down into Delaware and
00:14unfortunately things are not really going to be improving as we look ahead
00:17to the next couple of days. We do have kind of a roller coaster pattern with
00:20some fronts moving through, but let's take a look at this on future radar
00:24because they were not looking at significant rain with this early Friday
00:27morning. We are going to see some rain start to move through western
00:30Pennsylvania, western New York. Now, these areas have seen rain will
00:33continue to see some rain, but this is not significant rain and there's even a
00:37chance that some of this won't even hit the ground, especially as we move closer
00:41to the east, closer to the coast there. So fire risk still an issue as we head
00:47into Friday, especially with the gusty winds associated with that cold front
00:51and think about it. It's fall. I'm sure you're seeing a lot of leaves on the
00:54ground and all of that other dry vegetation along with that perfect fuel
00:58for a wildfire there. So make sure you are taking those precautions, watching
01:02out for any local burn bands to avoid accidentally sparking a wildfire. We
01:08talk about temperatures Friday, things start to change. We see some cooler
01:11temperatures behind that cold front, but there is kind of a split there. So
01:15there are some areas that are still going to see record challenging highs
01:18for your Friday, but these are in the seventies, not in the eighties like
01:21we've been talking about for today. So we're moving in the right direction
01:24when we talk about getting back towards feeling like fall by the weekend, a lot
01:28of areas back to feeling more like fall just after Halloween. Charleston, West
01:33Virginia, though, seeing temperatures in the mid seventies for Sunday. That's
01:36kind of the outlier there. Let's take a look at your exclusive Accuweather
01:40seven day forecast for Philadelphia, though, because this is the perfect
01:42example of the roller coaster. I was talking about 79 for Friday down to the
01:46sixties back up to the mid to even upper seventies by the time we get to
01:50next week.
