00:00The Supreme Court ordered the petitioner to stop the transfer to the National Treasury of the remaining funds of PhilHealth.
00:11The next question is, if this is in accordance with the law.

00:20Under the visa of the Initial Temporary Restraining Order or TRO, the Supreme Court first stopped the transfer of government funds that were not yet used by PhilHealth to various government projects.
00:33The unused funds amounted to almost Php90 million.
00:36But the TRO's only remaining funds were not yet transferred.
00:49PhilHealth first stated that they were able to transfer Php60 billion to the National Treasury since May.
00:57The TRO did not yet include the return of the transferred funds, even though it was in accordance with the petitioner's request.
01:04They included the group of Isang Bayan, Bayan Muna, the group of Medical Professionals and Concerned Citizens, and Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel.
01:13The Supreme Court has consolidated the petitions of the groups that questioned the constitutionality or in accordance with the law of transferring unused PhilHealth funds.
01:26The oral arguments for this were filed on January 14, 2025.
01:31According to PhilHealth, this will follow the decision of the Supreme Court.
01:36They were still able to provide health protection through better benefit package and availment policy.
01:44The court gave 10 days for the respondents to comment, including the leaders of the Finance Department, Congress, and PhilHealth.
01:52The Office of the Solicitor General respects the fact that the TRO of the Supreme Court is in accordance with the respondents.
01:59The Department of Finance also respects this decision.
02:03According to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, they will be here in five days.
02:08They are already preparing for the oral arguments in January to clarify the issues.
