00:00The Office of the Civil Defense is on alert regarding the preparations for the Christine earthquake.
00:08Let's get an update.
00:09That's the national news of Ryan Lasigues live. Ryan?
00:15You know Sheila, the Christine earthquake is just around the country.
00:20But just now, residents from different regions of the country have been evacuated.
00:26The government is on top of the situation and is ready to help those affected by the Christine earthquake.
00:43Thousands of people have been affected in some parts of the country since the Christine earthquake.
00:49In Bicol Region, more than 4,000 people have been affected.
00:53This is equivalent to more than 3,000 families.
00:56There are also reports of landslides and floods in the area.
00:59In Eastern Visayas, more than 700 people have been evacuated.
01:02Because of the floods in some parts of Summer Province,
01:06the Office of the Civil Defense reported that more than 33 million people have been affected by the earthquake.
01:13Because of the magnitude of the earthquake,
01:16there are more areas that are experiencing landslides and floods.
01:21It has now reached more than 21,000 barangays, according to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
01:28The OCD is now working with transport agencies to issue travel advisories,
01:33particularly in areas that are expected to be hit by the earthquake.
01:37More than 2 million DSWD Family Food Packs have been pre-positioned in different parts of the country.
01:46We are talking to our citizens, especially those who are potentially to be affected by the earthquake,
01:54to be more vigilant.
01:57We are listening to the advice of our local government officials,
02:01and we will continue to monitor the events.
02:06The Philippine Army is also alert to the impact of the earthquake.
02:10According to the Army Public Affairs, Colonel Louie Dimaala,
02:14almost 1,000 men of the Philippine Army have been displaced,
02:17even their rescue equipment for possible search and rescue operations.
02:22For the 5th Infantry Division, they have raided 180 HADR teams composed of 801 personnel
02:32with 3 rubber boats and 142 land assets.
02:38While for the 7th Infantry Division, 2nd Infantry Division,
02:43based in Southern Luzon and Central Luzon,
02:46as well as 8th Infantry Division and 9th Infantry Division,
02:50are also being placed on standby alert for the possible impact of the typhoon Christina.
03:00The Charlie Protocol has been activated in 7 regions of the country.
03:05This is the highest level of emergency preparedness of the OCD.
03:09The regions that are being targeted are the Cordillera Administrative Region,
03:14Region 2, 3, 5, 8 Calabarzon, and Mimaropa,
03:18which are considered high risk due to the Christina earthquake.
03:21Under the Bravo Protocol are the BARMM and Region 1,
03:25while the National Capital Region, Region 6, 7, 12, 9, 10, and Caraga Region
03:32are under the Alpha Protocol.

03:57Aside from the DSWD mentioned earlier,
04:012 million family food packs have been distributed in the areas affected by the typhoon.
04:06The DSWD also has 194 million standby fans
04:10that are ready to be distributed or used to respond to those affected by the typhoon.
04:16The NDRRMC has raised their alert from the blue alert status yesterday.
04:22At the same time, the Office of Civil Defense has called for cooperation with the public
04:27because all of their preparations will be in vain
04:30if the public does not help the government.
