00:00In spite of the effects of the volcano's eruption in the past,

00:03the government still wants to give a happy Christmas to the residents who were evacuated and are now staying in evacuation centers.

00:24Earlier, the weekly media forum of the Department of Social and Welfare Development, or DSWD,

00:32was held and one of the topics was their update on their actions towards the affected families of the volcano's eruption in the past.

00:43It's only been two weeks since Christmas,

00:45which is why DSWD has now decided that Christmas will not be saddening

00:52for the affected families of the volcano's eruption in the past and are currently staying in evacuation centers.

00:59This is what the agency said in their weekly media forum that was held this morning.

01:05According to DSWD Assistant Secretary Juan Carlo Marquez,

01:09they are still communicating with the local governments affected by the eruption of the volcano

01:16to provide assistance to the victims of the so-called eruption,

01:20such as providing family food packs.

01:24Financial assistance has also been studied.

01:28According to DSWD, as of 6 a.m. today,

01:33there are 26 evacuation centers for the affected families of the volcano,

01:37of which there are more than 4,600 families inside the evacuation center.

01:43There are more than 81,500 family food packs distributed by the agency

01:50and more than 16,100 non-food items.

01:55These assistance is being distributed to Negros Occidental and Oriental.

02:05as part of the augmentation of support to our local government units.

02:10Of course, especially now during Christmas,

02:13we don't want their experience to be saddening because of the eruption that they were displaced from.
