00:00We've seen the PTVI news now. President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. has continued to call for help to those affected by the volcano eruption in Canlaona.
00:14According to the President, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian is now on his way to Negros to ensure the distribution of relief to those affected.
00:23The coordination of the national government with the affected local governments is also in full swing.
00:29In fact, DBM also assured that the government has enough funds to send relief to those affected by the volcano.
00:38First of all, I got the report from Secretary Rex Gatchalian who landed already in Negros early this morning.
00:47DBM has already assured me that they are ready.
00:52So yes, we are ready to support the families who have been evacuated outside the 6-kilometer danger zone.
01:01So, it really exploded. And so now, DNR and DOST are continuing to monitor air quality to see if we need to do more in terms of evacuating.
01:16If the levels of toxic gases coming out of the volcano are dangerous.
01:23FIVOX does not rule out the possibility that the situation in Canlaon Volcano will worsen the day after the eruption yesterday.
01:32According to FIVOX Director Teresito Pacuncol, they have recorded 20 volcanic earthquakes in the past 24 hours.
01:41When the magma rises, the volcanic earthquake increases.
01:45But if the magma is already at the top, there is almost no sign of it.
01:50Despite this, the government continues to urge for the assistance of the affected residents.
01:58We may expect these things to escalate in the next few weeks.
02:03But of course, we're hoping that it won't.
02:05But we would expect that the possibility that this would escalate further is always there.
02:11And that's the news for now.
