00:27President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. congratulated the new President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto,

00:33following his inauguration which was personally attended by the first couple.

00:38President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos

00:42witnessed the inauguration of the President of Southeast Asia's largest economy.

00:48Prabowo Subianto was formally sworn in as the 8th President of Indonesia

00:53alongside the youngest Vice President, Gibran Nakabubin Raka,

00:57yesterday at the House of Representatives building in Jakarta.

01:01The first couple was invited by then-outgoing Indonesian President Joko Widodo

01:06to participate in the significant celebration.

01:08In his message, President Marcos expressed his and the First Lady's delight in being part of this occasion

01:15which is special for friends and the international community.

01:19The President recognized Indonesia as a longstanding partner and close friend of the Philippines in the region.

01:25He emphasized the desire to further enhance the relationship between the two countries

01:30on this historic occasion coinciding with the upcoming 75th anniversary

01:35of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Indonesia in November.

01:39This is not the first time the two leaders met.

01:42Prabowo paid a courtesy call on President Marcos Jr. in Malacanang in September,

01:47a few months after his election victory.

01:49Both leaders promised to strengthen the alliance between their countries.

01:53Thus, President Marcos Jr.'s visit is a testament to the deep and strong friendship between the Philippines and Indonesia.

02:01It also symbolizes the commitment of both countries to expand and improve bilateral relations.

02:07Meanwhile, President Marcos Jr. acknowledged the contributions of former Indonesian President Widodo

02:13in fostering cooperation between the two nations.

02:16In 2022, Indonesia was the first state visit of President Marcos Jr.

02:21where he was warmly received by Widodo, who later visited the Philippines in January this year.
