00:00This pomp and ceremony of this whistle-stop tour comes to a jam-packed end.
00:08So it'll start with the King and Queen actually doing separate business.
00:11King Charles will go off to Redfern in the inner city to the National Centre for Indigenous
00:16Excellence, where he'll be greeted by a smoking ceremony and talking and speaking to some
00:20Indigenous community leaders at that location there.
00:23Meantime, Queen Camilla, she'll be off to Oz Harvest, where she'll meet with people
00:28from that organisation to learn about poverty and hunger in Australia.
00:31She'll also be attending a library where she'll be meeting some of the entrants and winners
00:35of the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Prize, so she'll be meeting some young writers and impressionable
00:40minds there.
00:41Well, then, they'll both unite at Parramatta Park this afternoon for a community barbecue.
00:47It's an invite-only event and there's some distinguished leaders, community leaders as
00:52well as Olympians and Paralympians as well in attendance.
00:56There's a shout that there might also be a game of backyard cricket or outdoor cricket
01:00there, which might be interesting to see what kind of bowling style the King undertakes
01:05if he does end up having a bowl there, Gemma.
01:07But it all culminates here.
01:08Here's where the big show is.
01:09It's one of the few public meets and greets, as you noted, right off the top.
01:13And it's in a time where we've seen an incredibly stage-managed tour here at the Royals, but
01:18this is one of the few occasions where we'll get people who are indeed fans of King Charles
01:22and Queen Camilla to come and meet them and say hello and perhaps try and get a word to
01:26them as well.
01:27Are there any people on site at the Opera House already?
01:29Yeah, there are actually, which is quite incredible given the event's not for seven hours, but
01:33people are streaming through already.
01:36We met one family who've come bright and early, almost 12 hours before this public appearance
01:43kicked off.
01:44It was the Howard Chipola family.
01:46Here's what they had to say.
01:47We love all the history about the monarchy and everything, so yeah, we're cool to see
01:51them.
01:52It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, really.
01:54I just said everybody, we're up at four, and we were on a five o'clock train, and we were
01:59here, I think, just after you, so no plan, we're just going to enjoy this beautiful sunny
02:05day.
02:08It's certainly a long haul for the Chipola-Howard family.
02:11They've also attempted to see the King and Queen before at Charles' coronation, all the
02:15way in London last year, so certainly true fans of the monarchy here.
02:19We've also seen a couple of primary schools come through, including Victoria Avenue in
02:23Sydney's inner west, who've said if they got the chance to say anything to the King
02:27or Queen, it'd be g'day.
02:30Certainly an Aussie welcome on this tour, which is wrapping up today before the King
02:34and Queen fly out to Samoa for the Heads of Commonwealth Government meeting tomorrow.
