00:00Australia laid out a five-year plan to help the development of the Philippines.
00:05Here is the report.
00:08Last week, the Australian Embassy announced the Five-Year Development Partnership Plan for the Philippines.
00:16It was led by Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade Secretary John Adams
00:21and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines HK Yu.
00:25Under the DPP, Australia wants to contribute to the stability of the Philippines
00:32when it comes to economic growth, prosperity and resilience,
00:36to provide protection to civil maritime security, conservation, peace and order, climate change,
00:43and to provide knowledge on ways to solve the problems of plastic pollution and coral restoration.
00:51The DPP was created with the help of the National Economic Development Authority, or NEDA,
00:57which is the country's development target.
01:00In more than two decades, Australia has already given AU$63 billion to the Philippines
01:06from strategic partnership or AU$4 billion per year,
01:10including AU$3.6 billion for official development assistance.
01:16Ambassador Yu believes that the DPP will contribute a lot
01:21so that the country will be conducive for business
01:24so that other Australian investors in the country can benefit.
