00:00You know, a gold iPhone is already kind of a flex, but have you ever wanted to flex so
00:10hard it doesn't even make financial sense anymore?
00:14All right, here's your new phone.
00:17This is the iPhone 11 Pro Solaris Zenith by Caviar.

00:42So this, there's literally nothing I can say about this one that's useful to a normal person.
00:49This is purely just a showcase of a fun and ridiculous iPhone 11 Pro mod because you really
00:57just don't get to see something like this every day.
00:59So this boutique, this small company out of Russia called Caviar, they reached out and
01:03they wanted to know if I wanted to check this thing out, I said, would you like to check
01:07it out?
01:08I said, uh, okay, and then they flew someone here to hand deliver it.
01:14So what exactly is this?
01:15This is a space gray iPhone 11 Pro with the glass back replaced by a massive mechanical
01:22clock structure, plated and covered in 24 karat gold and exactly 137 diamonds.
01:32It's ridiculous.
01:33And actually the ridiculousness starts from the unboxing experience.
01:36So after you get past the included pair of microfiber gloves and the cloth sleeve, you
01:40get to the phone box and the phone itself is in this custom black and gold box.
01:46Okay, so the peel was just as satisfying as any normal iPhone.
02:07And then for all the accessories, well below it, there's another section of this custom
02:10box with some paperwork, including a certificate and a serial number and a one of one certification.
02:18And then you have three black boxes with your Caviar accessories.
02:22First box is a USB-C charger in the box, an iPhone with a fast charger in the box.
02:30So you could, it's, I guess you have to spend a hundred thousand bucks on an iPhone to finally
02:34get a fast charger in the box.
02:35Then the second box is a lightning cable and a couple of smaller things, including a custom
02:40gold plated shark shaped SIM card removal tool, this golden rod thing that we'll get
02:46into in a second.
02:47And then this third box is a completely custom pair of matte black AirPods pro and a painted
02:54case with painted logo and painted AirPods complete with the gold Caviar logo that took
03:01me off guard.
03:02That's actually pretty impressive.
03:03Wow.
03:04Okay.
03:05So the accessory bundle is really legit.
03:06I was impressed with that, but that's not what we're here for.
03:09The main attraction is clearly the phone.
03:12First thing you'll notice, and this is not a joke, this is super serious.
03:15This phone is incredibly heavy.
03:17As soon as you pick it up, you'll notice this.
03:19I put it on a scale against a normal gold iPhone 11 pro.
03:23The Caviar phone weighs more than twice as much, 434 grams.
03:29That's more than two galaxy note 10 pluses.
03:33You got to get like a palm phone on top just to match the weight of the one gold Caviar
03:38phone.
03:39So yeah, it's heavy in the hand.
03:40It's thick too, which you can obviously see.
03:43And then of course there are tons and tons of details to admire.
03:48The lines, the concentric circles, the engravings, the diamonds all over it.
03:54It is absolutely nuts, but it's all still connected to a regular iPhone 11 pro.
04:02It does have a pre-installed pretty low res Caviar wallpaper.
04:06And the region is set to Russia.
04:08But other than that, the functionality is exactly the same.
04:10The great camera, the great battery life, the whole thing.
04:14I mean, you know what an iPhone is, although I guess you don't have wireless charging anymore.
04:18You're going to lose that.
04:19And then you might've also noticed the text on both sides.
04:22On one side is the name brand and your limited edition number one of one, which is so sick.
04:29And then on the other side, you get a little more info.
04:31It's an iPhone 11 pro.
04:33It's 24 carat gold.
04:35It's got diamonds and it's a Caviar phone.
04:37So what was that rod thing from before the thing in the unboxing?
04:41Well, the clock on the back of this phone, did you even notice the clock, the clock on
04:45the back of this phone is a fully functional mechanical watch instrument thing because
04:53of course it is.
04:54So you get this gold plated rod in the box with the logos printed on the caps and you
04:57can unscrew it to reveal a hex tool.
05:01And it turns out this hex tool is what you use to wind up the watch at the beginning
05:05of each week on the corner here.
05:07You can use that to wind up the spring mechanism and that gets it going and it just keeps running.
05:13All right.
05:14I actually looked it up.
05:15It's called a tourbillon apparently.
05:17I'm probably saying that wrong tourbillon.
05:19But if you want to learn more about them yourself, you can just read the Wikipedia page for that
05:23word.
05:24I'll link that down below if you want to have your mind blown a bit.
05:26But now you have a working mechanical watch complication on the back of your hundred thousand
05:30dollar phone.
05:31It clicks and ticks constantly and you can hear it all the time, especially if you have
05:35your phone up to your ear to make a phone call.
05:38Now I don't actually want to put my SIM card in this Russian phone to test to hear if you
05:42can hear the audible ticking through a phone call.
05:45But yeah, trust me, you can hear it.
05:47Okay.
05:48I also noticed there's a glass screen protector pre-installed to really protect your investment.
05:52I personally almost never use these, but there you go.
05:55It's on the phone.
05:56And yeah, if you go spec one of these out on their site right now, you can have a similar
05:59one made.
06:00This one as specced is $101,590.
06:05And if you go up to the iPhone 11 Pro Max, since it's bigger, it's much more expensive
06:09because there's more gold.
06:11And just for the hell of it, spec it up to half a terabyte.
06:13That's $121,280, but also limited edition, one of one.
06:20So that's kind of sick.
06:21Ah, God, you didn't, you thought I was going to drop it.
06:24So why, why does this exist?
06:26Why does anything like this exist?
06:29Because you've seen like those other random insert luxury item here, plated in gold costs
06:3410 times what it should.
06:35You've seen that, right?
06:36The answer is again, kind of like the others just because they can.
06:40And there's a small group of people who will appreciate the customized mastery of the mechanical
06:46engineering that goes into a watch face like this.
06:49I mean, think of the whole watch world.

07:27I'm appreciating the art, the mastery of making this piece, which is one of 10 in the world.
07:33And it just brings a tear to my eye and I love to look at it.
07:36I have no idea what time it is.
07:37I don't care.
07:38Yeah.
07:39So for that person with a penchant for collecting stuff and appreciation for the mechanical
07:43engineering going on here, I could totally see that incredibly wealthy person getting
07:47this phone, reaching in their pocket to pull it out and just staring at it.
07:53I mean, sure, there's technically a clock on the back, but are you really reading that?
07:56Maybe just turn the phone over and see the time with the digital clock on the front,
07:59but go right back to enjoying the crazy design on the back.
08:03And that's it.
08:04To be clear, I don't think this is a great idea for most people.
08:07It's a piece of tech still.
08:09It's kind of like how that Apple watch edition gold version never really took off and Apple
08:14eventually discontinued it because there's a new one next year.
08:17But hey, if you got to flex this hard to start a conversation, I guess that's a hell
08:23of a conversation, man.
08:24So that's pretty much it.
08:25This is the opposite of the tech that I normally play with where we're like, hey, should you
08:28buy this?
08:29Should you not?
08:30But I figure this is an opportunity I probably will never get again to hold $100,000 phone
08:35like this.
