00:00Hey, what's up, MKBHD here, and this is a big one.
00:07This is an exciting video.
00:08Welcome to the official launch and reveal of the first ever MKBHD product line.
00:15And you know, we've had our merch and our apparel and accessories and notebooks, stuff
00:19like that.
00:20But this, this is next level.
00:22So let me just let me give you a little backstory just for a second.
00:24A lot of you have asked in the past, like, Marques, why don't you make your own product,
00:30your own thing?
00:31Like I review things all the time.
00:32So of course, you can count on my taste and evaluating if something's good or not.
00:36But why don't I like make my own perfect smartphone or something like that.
00:40But it's just we're a small video team here in the studio.
00:44Making videos is hard enough.
00:46Making a smartphone with the factories and R&D and engineering you need to do that is
00:51pretty crazy.
00:52Now, something I haven't told you is I've had smartphone, I'll just say I've had product
00:57companies come to me in the past, asking, can we just slap your name on this thing,
01:03and then sell that as yours.
01:05And I've largely pretty much just said no to that stuff.
01:09Because I, to take a smartphone, for example, I would have feedback like, all right, can
01:13we make the battery a little bigger and make it a little thicker?
01:17And they'd be like, no, we finalized that stuff a long time ago.
01:20We really just want to put your name on it and it's the MKBHD edition.
01:23And I say, yeah, no, that's going to be a no for me, Doug.
01:27So then about a year ago now, dbrand approached me with the open-ended idea to collaborate
01:33on something new.
01:35Now, you guys have heard about dbrand here on the channel.
01:38If you've been here for more than a little bit, you're aware.
01:41They're kind of the perfect company to collaborate with because they make accessories for like
01:45every product that I review.
01:48But they've been a channel sponsor since 2014, super easy to work with, and they make
01:52high quality stuff.
01:53And fun fact, we actually collaborated on like a baby version of something like this
01:57a long time ago.

02:53Well, once you see it, it is pretty self explanatory what you're looking at.

03:01So this array is made up of 100 unique, different icons, each of which is representing either
03:10part of the channel or part of you, the tech enthusiast.
03:14And it creates this design.
03:15It's clean.
03:16It's minimal.
03:17It is angular the way I like it.
03:18Of course, it's red and black as well, at least for now.
03:22And every icon is custom illustrated and every single one of them ties back to something
03:27in one of the thousand plus videos that I've published.
03:30And I mean that literally, there's the MKBHD logo, there's 8K, there's a Tesla Model S,
03:36there's the robot dog.
03:37And then we've also sprinkled in some of my favorite longest running everyday tech stuff.
03:43MX Master 3, Herman Miller Embody, my HS8 speakers, WH1000XM4s, the Sigma 18 to 35,
03:52the Kira robot, Final Cut Pro, the Mac Pro.
03:56I could just keep going.
03:57We have a lot of, there's new stuff on here too.
03:59There's the RTX 3090, there's the Tesla Model X, there's the Roadster, there's good stuff.
04:06It's pretty sick.
04:08There's two colorways at launch.
04:09You'll probably already know my favorite colors are red and black.
04:13If you made it this far and didn't know that, now you know.
04:15So our colors are going to be red on black and black on black.
04:19So this is where dbrand came in clutch.
04:20They've worked on this finish, a layered print where the icons sort of shine against this
04:25ultra matte finish.
04:26So it looks super clean no matter what you attach it to.
04:29And so the red one is called Red Code.
04:32Fun fact, that's also the name of the codec that red cameras shoot.
04:35And the black is matte black everything.
04:37You already know.
04:38And it's available immediately for literally every device in dbrand's portfolio, which
04:43is a ton of stuff.

07:22Each face has a theme.
07:24So when it's solved, there is a smartphone side.
07:28So everything here has to do with smartphones.
07:30There's a camera gear side.
07:32Every icon relates to camera gear.
07:34There's a social media side, a gaming side, a dbrand side, and an MKBHD side.
07:39So feel free to use this video as a study guide.

07:52when it really comes down to it, the reason you guys have asked for an MKBHD edition of

08:09And so the fact that we can actually make something for us tech enthusiasts to like
08:15is a pretty big deal for me and I think just fun overall.
