00:11In today's video, which is the first on the channel, we're checking out the iPhone SE
00:152022.
00:16Basically, this is the cheapest new iPhone you can get right now.
00:19And yeah, the last SE was released in 2020, so that was two years ago.
00:23So what does this mean for this new iPhone SE and what can this phone do?
00:28That's what we're talking about in this video.
00:29But first, let's unbox this real quick.
00:32This is gonna be a rather quick unboxing.
00:35So we have the iPhone SE Starlight 256GB version.
00:43We have the phone, but let's see what else is in the box.
00:45It's signed by Apple in California.
00:48You have an Apple sticker, paperwork, and a SIM tool.
00:51And then you have your Lightning charging cord.
00:54Pretty straightforward stuff in the box.
00:56Just so you know, there is no charging brick for this iPhone.
01:00Let's move on to the phone.
01:01This plastic shows you where stuff is.
01:03So you have your mute button on this side, volume buttons.
01:07On the other side, you have your power button.
01:10You also have your SIM tray.
01:11I think that's a single SIM slot.
01:16Backpack with a single camera actually looks pretty nice and clean.
01:21This is a very solid feeling phone.
01:23At the bottom, you have your charging port and speakers.
01:26And the sides are very nicely rounded.
01:30And if we look a little closely, you'll see where the bezels are.
01:33Let's power this thing up.
01:34And in the meantime, let's go to the montage.
01:53Most notable about this iPhone is that it features the same design that we previously
02:00saw on the last iPhone SE.
02:02And yes, you get a physical home button slash fingerprint scanner on this phone.
02:07Now I will say that for my tiny hands, this is a very comfortable phone to hold.
02:12It is basically near the smaller size of the mini versus the size of the iPhone 13 Pro.
02:19Again, the iPhone 13 is the same size as the iPhone 13 in between the existing 13 and 13
02:25Pro and the 13 mini.
02:27But despite the iPhone SE being slightly bigger than the iPhone mini, it does have a smaller
02:32screen because same design as the last iPhone SE, meaning bezels.
02:37But hey, that means that this iPhone doesn't have a notch.
02:42Handling this phone almost feels nostalgic.
02:45I didn't even realize that I missed the swipe up for settings because that's actually a
02:49swipe down for bezel-less iPhones right now, which can be a problem if you have smaller
02:53hands like mine.
02:54And despite this phone having the same old design, the iPhone SE is also powered by an
02:58A15 chip.
02:59Yes, the same chip on the iPhone 13s.
03:03And yes, this SE can do tricks now.
03:05iPhone SE can do this now.
03:07This is pretty cool.

03:28Apple also claims that the battery on this iPhone SE lasts two hours longer than the
03:32previous SE.
03:33And this is all due to a number of factors like a bigger battery, design optimization,
03:38chip optimization.
03:39Charging can go from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20-watt charging brick, except it doesn't
03:44come with a charging brick.
03:46And though this thing has wireless charging, it does not have MagSafe.
03:52Yeah.
03:53Also, the iPhone SE 2022 is a 5G device.
04:00This iPhone SE also has a new camera system.
04:02Like Apple said, there's a new chip in this and two generations of camera advancements
04:07because the last SE was two years ago.
04:09So there's one camera on the back and one up front.
04:12But there's smart HDR 4, photographic styles, improved low light, stabilization, and a bunch
04:17of other things.
04:18So I'm pretty curious to see how these single cameras perform.
04:22That is more or less it with what's up on the iPhone SE.
04:25So let's get to the camera tour.

04:29So let's get to the cameras.
04:31You do have photographic styles on the iPhone SE.
04:34So set up later, you have photo and you can zoom.
04:40I don't see the numbers, but that much.
04:43And you can zoom back out.
04:45Up here, flash settings.
04:47You have your different settings here, which includes your flash.
04:51Live photo over here.
04:53You have your different profiles.
04:58Just like on the iPhone 13.
05:00You have size settings.
05:02You have your exposure settings.
05:05And then you have your timer.
05:07Up here, you also have that light.
05:08On the right, you have portrait cameras.
05:11So if we continue, you have all the different profiles, natural light, contour light.
05:17It doesn't move closer.
05:19Up here, there's a flash.
05:21And then you can do the same different settings here, except you have your different filters
05:26here.
05:28And then you have your depth settings.
05:30So you can do an aperture of 16 to 1.4.
05:34That's also up here for easy access.
05:37You have a pano mode on the other side.
05:40And then on video, you can do HD 60, HD 30, 4K 60, 4K 24.
05:49And then you have flash settings up here.
05:52Can you zoom in?
05:53Yes.
05:54And then back out this much.
05:57You have a slow-mo mode that can do 240, 120 in HD.
06:05Flash settings as well.
06:07And then on the other side, you have time-lapse mode.
06:11You can change exposure here.
06:14There's a time-lapse mode on selfie.
06:17No selfie on slow-mo though.
06:19On video, hey, you can do HD or 720p.
06:25And then, yeah, 30fps.
06:30Can you zoom in or out?
06:31No, you cannot.
06:32And then you have your photos.
06:34No zooming in or out again.
06:37You have flash settings.
06:38The same settings at the bottom, live photo on the upper right.
06:42Portrait mode on selfie again.
06:44You have the same settings.
06:47You can adjust the depth.
06:49And again, same settings here.
06:51And then we have pano.
06:52And then that's it.
06:54Now, it's pretty much bare bones for this camera, but still, we get features we have
06:59on the iPhone 13.
07:00Anyway, if you want me to test out these cameras' capabilities, let me know if you guys want
07:04to see a camera vlog test with iPhone SE.
07:07Right now, let me give you some sample shots.
07:17By virtue of this being the cheapest new iPhone around, that might be enough reason
07:41for people to be looking at this device.
07:43And despite arguments against the phone design that seems a little old in the time of full-screen
07:48devices, that was the case for the last SE.
07:51And that last SE was still one of the best-selling phones in 2020 when there were bezel-less
07:58phones.
07:59It was like the top 2 selling iPhone.
08:01Personally, I'm pretty curious to see how these cameras perform too.
08:05After all, we've previously seen single-shooter phones outperform other devices before.
08:10So yeah, I guess a camera vlog test is coming on the iPhone SE.
