00:16Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara attended a meeting hosted by the European
00:21Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and led by ECCP President Paulo Duterte.
00:25Secretary Angara and officials from the private sector discussed several education programs in
00:30the sector. They also talked about reducing subjects under the matatag curriculum, reforms
00:35in the licensure exam for teachers, improving teaching skills, fairness in the free college
00:40tuition fee law, and enhancing computer literacy. The secretary also touched on ongoing improvements
00:45in the curriculum. As the Philippine Senate commemorates its 108th anniversary, Senate
00:53President Francis Escudero affirmed the Senate's commitment to the principles of democracy,
00:58transparency, and accountability has remained steadfast. The Senate leader reminded the 108th
01:04anniversary is not only a time for celebration but also for introspection and an opportunity
01:10to reaffirm their commitment to the values the Senate stands for. The Bureau of Jail Management
01:17and Penology and the International Committee of the Red Cross launched an online health
01:22information system to improve jail health care. It ensures all inmates are screened and have
01:27documented health histories, helping to create more informed health policies. Each inmate will
01:32now have individual health records with monthly reports from all BJMP facilities to enhance care
01:39and provide data for the Department of Health. The Indonesian Embassy in Manila held a cultural
01:46celebration as part of the 75th anniversary of the Philippine-Indonesian diplomatic relations.
01:51Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo said in her speech the activity serves as a testament to the ongoing
01:57relations between the Philippines and Indonesia. An Indonesian ambassador to the Philippines,
02:01Agus Widjojo, also reminded Filipinos and Indonesians to be open-minded and celebrate
