00:00It's Derby Day weekend here on TNT Sports. We're here at King's Home for another classic
00:07encounter between Gloucester and Bath. It's an encounter that goes all the way back to
00:121882. This is the 248th edition of this rugby match. So let's head to commentary where we
00:20can join Sam Warburton, Chris Ashton and Alistair Eakin.
00:25Well it's a special place to be on Derby Day, an extra something in the air, an extra
00:30bite all around, an anticipation that's palpable as you walk into the stadium. It's been building
00:36really all week to three o'clock on this wonderful Saturday afternoon and it is showtime believe
00:43it or not. Each to their own as they say. Now then, some seven changes made by George
00:51Skivington, one positional. The good news is that they have Santi Carreras back from
00:57the Rugby Championship. He's world class as we know at fullback. Josh Hathaway's return
01:02from injury is timely as well given Christian Wade's rib problems. Thorley's back meaning
01:07Max Llewellyn can revert to the centres. No change to those classy Welsh halfbacks. Tomas
01:12Williams quite brilliant against Sale and up front. A return for the talisman Lewis
01:16Ludlow left out the last fortnight steaming for a comeback. One late withdrawal, Arthur
01:21Clarke with a back spasm and Freddie Clarke is a late inclusion. A new name on the Bath
01:28team sheet owing to injuries in their back three to Thokkanasinghe, Muir and Sam Harris
01:33as well. Austin Emmons on the wing, former Bath University GB7s player promoted on debut
01:40for the big one today. Sure the shed will welcome him. Will Butt shifts out to the wing
01:45as well. De Glanville returning to the 15 shirt. Red Path partnering Lawrence from the
01:49outset this time and Johan van Graan has benched those forwards who have been with England
01:54this week. Stuart Ewells and Underhill. Ted Hill bumped up to the second row. Josh Bayliss
02:00getting a run on the blind side and Alfie Barberi back to cause havoc at number 8. Adam
02:11Leal with the whistle and he's armed with a ref cam as well so we'll get the Leal eye
02:17view. And a full-throated Premiership derby then dripping in history and intensity and
02:26raw aggression that means the world to each of these sides, each of these sets of fans.
02:34Smoke still clearing from the scene and a first carry for Thomas Dutoy. So influential
02:42in the set piece but also that very very dangerous jackal threat too. Spencer to the skies, Hathaway
02:51back from injury but beaten to the ball by Ted Hill. Quick ball for Bath, trouble for
02:56Glen Gloucester. Dunne. A little blast up the middle here. Fired away, Russell keen
03:07to get width on it. Lawrence is caught initially by Max Llewellyn, did very well to track him.
03:17Russell again to Dunne who's chopped down low by Ludlow. Ross Maloney scored his debut
03:26try for Bath at the REC last week. Dunne already notching a third carry and Gloucester
03:31in there having a little sniff at the breakdown. Maloney again, big men piling around the corner.
03:42Heavily stacked bench as well for Bath which will be brought to bear later on you'd feel.
03:50Spencer deciding enough phases around halfway. Thorley comes in but again it's taken by Hill,
03:57supreme in the air in these early minutes. To Glanville, Russell, double pump of the
04:02ball, Lawrence fades past Hathaway. 12th phase of possession here, the ball is swept up by
04:13Clement and Gloucester. Hammond as they tear away but the blast on the Lille whistle. The
04:20first of the afternoon. The ball has been booted out of the rack. He's got to hook that backwards.
04:28He was fine initially Ludlow, he sort of come through the gate, he was standing there, you
04:32can't play the nines, he was intelligent. As soon as the nine picks that ball up you can play nine.
04:36You can't play the nine if the ball's on the floor so he just gets it slightly wrong there
04:40but Bath going twice to the air, Sayle got some good success in the air last week. Bath went twice
04:46this week for that man Spencer. He's fine there, he's not playing the nine, the ball's still on the
04:50floor, he's waiting for Spencer to pick it up, he just can't. Into the midfield come Bath and Ollie Lawrence
04:59who's having another excellent start to this campaign. Surely will be the fulcrum of England's
05:06midfield for the Autumn Internationals forthcoming. Live on TNT Sports of course as Bath bear down
05:13on the try line. Four minutes on the clock, playing with a penalty advantage.
05:19There's also a no arms tackling there Adam. Spencer glances up, Russell wants it, so too Lawrence tries
05:29to free the arms up. Spencer again, Barbary battering onwards but what a tackle that is.
05:36Abano now, helped on by Baylis, has to feed the ball back. Barbary sizing up that try line and
05:45battering forwards, can he get it down? Adam Leal is right there, couldn't be closer.
05:53Time off, quick check Tom. I believe he's not on over the line, I just lost sight of it, if not we're
05:59coming back for the penalty advantage for no arms tackle. So on field decision, no try.
06:03We've got one angle to show to you, the ball is actually lost backwards but the game has
06:08stopped anyway so you will be going back for the penalty, here we go. Thank you. One more angle.
06:16This will be a good one you'd think. It's really unlucky from Bath.
06:21So it's no try but we've got an arms tackle there, there's another legal tackle there so
06:27it's not going to be a penalty try but that's two no arms tackle behaviour needs to change
06:30on that, we need to wrap in the tackle. Ironically the man who folded under legally
06:35was the man who made the first no arms tackle, Freddie Clark.
06:41So some alarm bells ringing here for Gloucester and Bath with a handful of options.
06:50Looks like the tap and go, it's Tom Dunne who's been a warrior of these derby days for
06:56some 12 years or more and here he is in the carry, three metres away from the try line,
07:02back they come to the shorter side and Barnault clatters through. First try of the afternoon,
07:09first blood to Bath at Kingshore. The try is good, we do have another no arms tackle in that
07:14passenger play as well but number five. Okay, speak to Lewis, speak to Lewis. So Beno Abano
07:22celebrating the score, he looks like he's done himself a mischief in the process.
07:29Now you see them bounce back here Ali, whether it's deliberate or not but it's Anscombe and
07:33Thomas Williams, so Beno Abano against a nine and a ten. I'm not sure if that's something that they
07:37previously picked up but it was powerful stuff from Bath, these no arm tackles normally come in
07:41when you're getting physical dominance but that looks a well orchestrated pick and go routine,
07:46just getting your big man against small man, five metres out, smart play, simple stuff.
07:55Beno Abano who was left out of Steve Borthwick's training camp squad last week,
08:03keen to find a way back into, yes he's got two arms on the floor and just acts as a speed bump.
08:07Okay, I'll make sure that they're on a warning for that then, official warning.
08:12Into the international circuit as we hear the conversation between Adam Leal and Tom Foley, our TMO.
08:25We'll be happy about that Ali. All eyes on Finn Russell, probably a little bit too far to
08:32mention anything to the shed at this point, you feel it's coming though.
08:35No, he took his time over that kick, I think he goes to his routine normally a little bit quicker
08:40shows the focus he's trying to get on his goal kick, it's been an area that he'd like to be better at.
08:49De Glanville gathering the restart, elusive as well until he finds Fazogbon in his way.
08:58Barberi, very clear job description for Alfie Barberi and indeed Jaco Coutinho
09:05from Johan van Graant, repeated heavy carries and they've got this unique ability to beat that
09:12first defender which is so priceless. Hathaway overran that, fortunately Tomas Williams was
09:17there and Mercer now is opening things up, Atkinson, Carreras, Llewellyn running onto
09:23the ball beautifully, Foley now, good tackle made by Lawrence on the gain line.
09:30Fazogbon holds that up for night.
09:35With the advantage now, Atkinson got it away, Anscombe, Llewellyn, Hathaway
09:44steps on the gas, plenty to do here, keeps it alive brilliantly, Llewellyn!
09:51Gloucester in full cry and that is the new Gloucester, here at King's Home
09:58in front of a full house, that's what they're all about these days.
10:05Top work from Gloucester, just shifting the ball, this is how they want to play this season,
10:10Llewellyn gets the try but it's a complete team try, we just see some of this attack,
10:14it's fast, Fazogbon gets the ball away, just moving the point of contact all the time
10:18and here we see it again, as soon as the penalty of the ref goes out they're willing to play,
10:23shifting it, they've got numbers on the outside but there's still work to do here,
10:27holding the ball, perfect timing, get to the edge, find an offload, I mean it's a great offload
10:32on the inside to Llewellyn, just what Gloucester would have wanted.
10:38Well, brilliant acceleration from Hathaway but the wherewithal is probably the most important
10:44thing, Sam, the thing that's caught all the eyes of both club and country coaches.
10:49Well it's probably one of the criticisms of Bath last week is their transition from attack into D
10:53and Gloucester are switching into that really well, we saw their shape, Seb Atkinson stepped
10:57in at first receiver, Gareth Anscombe folded out to get that extra numbers, plays a second
11:02receiver to get that width, really nice attack in play.
11:08Carreras back from the Rugby Championship, back on the daily beat and slotting two to draw Gloucester
11:17level, glorious stuff this Chris. You take, as a team, you have a plan and when you come out here
11:24and when it comes off the way that has for Gloucester, you just have more certain belief
11:29in the way you want to play and you trust your attack even more to get a trial like that so early
11:33in the game. Seven points each, some nine odd minutes gone and a little bit of disruption
11:43for Gloucester, Freddie Thomas has come off for a head injury assessment, Miles Reid has grabbed
11:47the ball for Bath in the danger zone, they've got an advantage and they're building again,
11:55could be one of those days, out it comes from Russell, oh it was big, it was really big and
12:03if we're honest it probably should have been held by Wilbert. That's one of those passes
12:11I'd love to play with a Finn Russell, you've got to expect the unexpected from him, no one else is
12:17expecting to throw that 15-20 metre pass but as a winger I would be waiting for a pass like that,
12:25just wasn't quite ready for it. That's how you're going to find gaps in these games when
12:31no one else sees it but you've got a player like Finn being able to throw a pass like that,
12:37you've just got to be prepared for whatever can come at you.
12:41Expect the unexpected at all times but they were playing with house money to some expect
12:46they had the advantage and Russell will surely slot this in due course.
12:54On that Ash, what do you think as a winger, do you look at like the numbers in the defensive
12:57line when you need to be deep, when you need to be flat, what's going through your mind as a
13:00winger when you're on that touchline? You're always anticipating and if there's half a yard
13:04You're always anticipating and if there's half a yard of space and you've got to think
13:10what if Finn throws it because there's just enough room for you to get running,
13:14that's your own picture and with a player like Finn you've just got to hope he sees it too.
13:19A head injury assessment for Gareth Anscombe which means that Charlie Atkinson is at 10
13:36for Gloucester now there he is just lurking on halfway on the ball now Atkinson to Atkinson
13:42and Atkinson again and this is now Carrera space on the outside,
13:45Thorley pins his ears back, great tackle from Russell
13:50take some stopping Oli Thorley, Russell did well but the space is there for Clement
13:55and Clement is within a metre or so, Tomas Williams diving, darting and scoring
14:04once more Kingsholm on its feet, once more Gloucester breaking free in thrilling fashion
14:15all starts at the screw on the set piece so good first phase attack the slightness of hand
14:23everybody's doing their job bang on the money to provide the space for Thorley out wide hand-to-hand
14:29this on it just holding the feet leaving the space it's a great tackle from from Russell to
14:33get across and stop it but Gloucester just got far too much momentum and everyone just looks
14:39really comfortable on the ball Clement was going hard and that's all they needed Tomas Williams
14:43sees a gap he doesn't need a second opportunity wonderful work from Clement to set it all up and
14:53Tomas Williams as he did twice against sale last week on the money for the Cherry and Whites
14:5914 points to 10 Gloucester lead Bath
15:12so
15:25Tomas Williams keen to put some width on it Thorley keen to run as ever
15:32to that short side again lovely work from Mercer bursting forwards drawing the man and still going
15:39in the offload so good Tomas Williams and inside and over the line and there it is
15:50all good Charlie Atkinson scores Gloucester's third oh what a moment
15:58what a moment for the shed what a moment for Gloucester supporters
16:03surely a try of the season contender what a try I mean Bath probably kicking a bit too long they got
16:09good success when they kick to compete they go long it gives Gloucester a chance to set they
16:14want to go this guy's had his hands on the ball so much Zach Mercer we said he needed a big game
16:19but he's so good in these 15 meter channels just so well to escape those two tackles Tomas Williams
16:24again great support drop the awareness of Atkinson that is just such a good try so far from line
16:30break it's given to mention it at the start of the game they had 16 line breaks last week
16:34if you convert a third of them that's you know five tries at least
16:38ruthless off line break absolutely love it Zach Mercer was brilliant stop drooling Chris Ashton
16:44you wish you were out there I know you're seeing tries lots and lots of tries unfortunately I'm
16:49glad of there's no Christian Wade out here today yeah can you imagine the palpitations
17:01he'd have probably had six tries by now no doubt great attack but I think we're seeing so many big
17:08score line in in games and people are going all the defense is rubbish and stuff but because the
17:14teams are putting so much into the tack you cannot physically keep getting up and defending all the
17:20time which is just leaving holes like we're seeing if it kicks slightly off there's gaps
17:25on the outside and we're teams are no willing to take that space this is not what you might
17:31consider to be a traditional Gloucester style but my goodness me it seems to suit them
17:37with the athletes they have and the speed that they have in their ranks as well
17:46Mercer again turning provider this time Charlie Atkinson stays on his feet well
17:56Mercer perhaps one carry too many conceivably this is Singleton all space in the backfield
18:05and Singleton's after his own kick gathered by the Glanville what a tackle that is
18:10a similarly brilliant offload Emmons two men bearing down on him
18:16and a scramble for possession once again
18:19done clattered in that midfield Gloucester spread left
18:24Barbary finding holes battering through Tomas Williams
18:29Bath with their tails up again Russell inside ball the red path to Russell
18:34oh it's magnificent has he rolled and scored
18:37I thought he had it Ali we'll have a look again so Tommy when I've come around I've not got the
18:43ball on the ground so my decision is no try if not we're coming back for okay no try
18:52I don't think this angle is probably going to be our best Adam just bear with me
18:56this is our best angle
19:00yes oh he's granded there Adam you may want to try yeah
19:04well that is a similarly special score from Finn Russell the interplay Chris the linkwork just
19:12sublime I'm looking at the other side I'm on the other side of the field I'm looking at the
19:18backfield I'm looking at the backfield I'm looking at the backfield I'm looking at the
19:23link work just sublime I reckon Jack Singleton might be apologizing under the
19:29post to the boys there the game's been open and free-flowing attack but I
19:34reckon the hooker kicking a ball through from his five meters of his own trial
19:39line wasn't in the playbook I mean there's there's bass ball and then
19:43there's that well they had penalty advantage from this Gloucester didn't
19:46roll away again they're getting caught out for that a few times but Russell
19:49does really well it's almost like a 1-2 football but he does really well he
19:53passes that ball inside Gloucester really need to take him out because then
19:56he supports it but Russell does really well to stay alive we see this inside
20:01ball here he stays alive somebody from Gloucester needs to track Russell it's
20:04too late at this point it's good one two don't see that very often his first ever
20:10score in the premiership for bath
20:15using all all of the shot clock or at least plenty of it to regain his breath
20:25and punch two more points over 21 17 28 minutes gone let's have another look at
20:32this decision from Jack Singleton this is the slight brain explodes I mean I'm
20:37here for it it's my kind of play Ali I'm not I'm all for it but just at the
20:42moment you anyone Gloucester just to calm down slightly and get some sort of
20:45control they're all attack the kick was just too far
20:53this time contestable from Spencer and so contestable that nobody wants to
20:59contest it and suddenly Josh Bayliss is in clear water
21:05beyond the 10-meter line approaching the 22 Russell screaming for it red path
21:10options left and right here clear out from the Glanville Russell again over
21:18the top to Lawrence and a ball there to be one it's been swept up by Atkinson
21:24always not to let go I think Adam Leal was issuing the instructions there here's
21:29a bar note Bayliss once again to Glanville they're looking for that edge
21:33drops on the foot of red path picked up by Atkinson again charging forwards now
21:40real speed Evans having to drop on this
21:58the voice you can hear is that of Tom Foley our TMO
22:04this will not be allowed I'm gonna show you a player dropping onto a player on
22:09the floor
22:11okay yeah Luke well as you said so he dives onto the player on the floor
22:15that's why the ball becomes loose yeah okay so it's gonna be no try and a
22:20penalty on the five tomorrow it's such a hard thing for a winger not to do
22:32Atkinson spreads it wide Thorley plenty of attention on only Thorley searching
22:38for the hole there it is half through it
22:43Buff infringing at the breakdown the ball left in behind swept up by
22:48Llewellyn still with the advantage here Gloucester
22:56Mercer Atkinson takes man and bull Carreras the handling well back behind
23:02the game line and then the blast number seven the whistle
23:14Miles Reid not rolling this time
23:19so a chance for one more meaningful attack before halftime oh they're gonna
23:27have a shot at the goal Gloucester just getting a lot of chances on the outside
23:31channel a lot of that is to do with baths defense and how they keep keep
23:35coming up and in Sam it's not ideal when you've got such good players and backs
23:40that Gloucester have got every time if you see in here no back angling in you
23:45completely isolating yourself to be able to turn and get back yeah Gloucester
23:50actually set up really well you know if you're gonna play against that there's
23:52two things well there's a few things you could do you either play sort of short
23:55side you go for sort of attacking kicks over the top to slow down that lines
23:58with all you've got to set really deep in attack so you couldn't you always the
24:02defense don't want to blitz that hard they know if the ball gets beyond them
24:05as you say Chris they get into that 15-meter channel but Gloucester setting
24:08up really well getting plenty of depth it's very difficult to defend against
24:14Carreras on target again for Gloucester and that's halftime thrilling contest
24:27this one helter-skelter and a West Country Derby at its best still very
24:34much in the balance Llewellyn Thomas Williams and Charlie
24:38Atkinson for Gloucester bath with tries from a Bono and Russell halftime
24:44Gloucester 24 bath 17
24:49so bath trailing once again trailing at halftime and Charlie Atkinson oh not
25:10getting that away clean Spencer slinging a long ball infield to Russell back the
25:14other way they go to Glanville and the second half begins as the first one
25:20ended Maloney upended a reminder that Gloucester have lost three players to
25:29head injury assessments which they failed Barbary having a hard time
25:36working that back his red path swallowed up in the tackle Russell to
25:45read Clement Anscombe and Freddie Thomas the men's have made way for the cherry
25:50and whites his Emmons dealt with this time around and Gloucester plundering
25:57the ball at the breakdown Mercer looking to those wide expanses again or it's a
26:01loose pass and Llewellyn has a lot to do the opportunities with their big old
26:07overlap Clement into Bayliss Kieran Knight leads the charge in behind
26:26Atkinson Thomas Williams who's been quite magnificent this afternoon his
26:31Carreras space in the backfield and an awkward bounce for Russell and a blast
26:38on the Adam Leal whistle an offside decision on that was a great read from
26:51Hathaway and the turnover was excellent from Fassad bond but I just thought from
26:54a wingers perspective he jammed in so well there well this is Thomas Williams
26:59that we're saying look how wide he gets with that pass he takes out six seven
27:03players of the bath defense which then creates the opportunity on the outside
27:07just by having the awareness of space and how we can affect the defense
27:14creates an opportunity from nothing really for Gloucester will but the only
27:20man hugging this right-hand touchline otherwise bath quite tightly packed
27:26around that shorter side and intent on keeping it with the big boys for now
27:36Barbary breaks away Spencer rumbling around the corner is Maloney
27:49Detroit brilliant leg drive Oh Obama again he's found a way through
27:57scurried his way towards the try line and that's two for Bella Obama this
28:03afternoon back within two with the conversion to come they've looked so
28:11good off the pick and go over they very powerful right around one against
28:15Northampton but the toy you said him at the start of the game Andy great ball
28:19carrier we've seen him as well but just that one did the damage the toy there
28:24somebody needs to get on that ball and slow it down but then as a great clear
28:27out the bar just goes straight away generates momentum that's what you want
28:32for your pick and goes yes it's got to be powerful but it's gotta have the goal
28:35to generate momentum good support from bath getting the big boys on the ball
28:39Gloucester haven't got too much to answer for this at the moment
28:45testing summer for for Benno Obama of course shown red in that Premiership
28:54final and absolutely crestfallen as a consequence he's been to some dark
29:00places over the years twice recovering from ACL damage in his knee twice on
29:08target here this afternoon for bath scores level it's not not difficult what
29:18Bath are doing I think you Gloucester it's quite obvious that that has come in
29:21narrow channel narrow channel they want to keep it tight you've just got a just
29:25got to make your one-on-one tackle teleport teamwork keep getting off the
29:28floor bath then searching for a bonus point try and Ross Maloney pops it out
29:34dispense a lovely ball for Lawrence to absolutely hammer on to Spencer bodies
29:42underneath him just a try from Spencer penalty try I'm going here Ali just
29:58Atkinson was offside me stop Spencer from picking you go and get the try
30:04so that's instinct isn't it he doesn't really have a choice there Charlie
30:15Atkinson having got to his feet yeah he's not exactly come back and round as
30:19he we have got an offside line we just need to determine whether before nines
30:23actually played him he's got his feet back to the offside line yeah yeah
30:30yeah so looking to see if where the 22 red is on side yeah okay this is going
30:36to be a best angle thank you this game gives seconds get to the screen
30:45he's a tighter angle so he clearly got a rock there yeah he doesn't get to the
30:51offside line and then he's the player that holds it up agreed so that's going
30:55to be a yellow card in the penalty try to number 22
31:02that's number 22 so a yellow card for Charlie Atkinson and a penalty try to
31:10bath who bank all seven points and move in front for the first time in a long
31:17while and it's very significant of course to lose your ten particularly
31:24when Gareth Anscombe was lost early on to a head injury so they're going to be
31:30quite disrupted now the cherry and whites
31:44out it comes for Spencer red path straightening well Russell to Glanville
31:50but now swallowed up by Max Llewellyn Russell could see up expect to see him
31:59on the carrier great deal Russell again Ted Hill bath just beginning to look a
32:05little bit more fluent now Russell hit late Lawrence keeps it alive quite
32:11brilliantly red path to Baylis and Baylis is home and host the fifth of
32:18the afternoon for bath they just seem to slip through the gears in those last
32:24few phases and when they do that and they start to play with confidence they
32:30look really really dangerous exactly that alley you called it lost to find it
32:36difficult to get onto their ball Ted Hill with a good carry
32:39glossy get a reasonable double shot but no one on the ball it means Spencer can
32:43get that ball away and Lawrence does really well just a slip that pass their
32:46red path 2v1 makes it look easier Baylis gets a well-deserved choice but
32:50a real workhorse this afternoon Baylis quietly going about his business that's
32:54lovely just freeing up his arm there Ollie Lawrence but Baylis holding his
32:58width giving them that extra number and he's been superb in the back row this
33:01afternoon
33:08so back within striking range Gloucester and this time the line out is a success
33:15thanks to Blake and Alomar know and a good drive here which bar for really
33:19struggling to handle Williams eyes up Atkinson back on the inside is through
33:27Allen and his thorny
33:33Mercer now could do with some assistance incomes Repava Ruskin Atkinson again
33:42Gloucester could do with some bodies there's some tired men making their way
33:45around the corner at this point Clement lays it up Mercer once more for Gloucester
33:51oh dear is that off the knee Tomas Williams recovers Ludlow now relentless
33:59pressure here from the Turian whites feels like a pivotal moment this score
34:05here and anything's possible if they're denied bath will draw such huge
34:11confidence from their defensive efforts time and again Gloucester pull forwards
34:18Clements upended by Hill most phases they've been through in the match so far
34:24Alomar know they can have to be very careful they don't get caught without
34:32enough players at the breakdown got to commit sufficient numbers Mercer again
34:36over the top and gathered in by butts and away come buff and the Glanville's
34:42gone good tough stuff is burnt off and Tom de Glanville almost certainly wins
34:50the game for bath what a turnaround potentially a 14-point turnaround
34:59Gloucester simply had to get points there instead Tom de Glanville's cashed
35:05in great finish from Tom de Glanville it all started in their own 22 like you
35:14said Ali they just got looked a little bit late but they couldn't get to the
35:17next breakdown feel like it was always gonna come I used to love these
35:21situations there's always a chance that it might bounce to you and you get an 80
35:26meter running just as Tom de Glanville got there gotta be ready for them when
35:30they come we mentioned Gloucester looking slightly tired he did the great
35:36try from back once again said Hill with the you're completely closing the gap
35:46I've asked you twice Hill Hill with the with the work in the line out but
35:54unfortunately an infringement they're also so Gloucester on the move Williams
36:03to Blake
36:06bar shirts they're in good numbers for the time being Thorley wrestles through
36:11oh that's magnificent
36:14an act of defiance from Ollie Thorley Gloucester not done yet
36:22Darby day Sam you said what's he gonna be what's gonna be the spark is it the
36:30crowd that's it I think Thorley's just done it let's find his energy for the
36:35team from absolutely nothing just rips through two tackles and still gets
36:40roamed outside to finish one England international and a second row that he's
36:47gone through how meet me and Brian are actually just go and look at him in the
36:54warm-up like blimey what he thought he's looking powerful isn't he and you can
36:58see it in his legs to fight off two front five players good front five
37:03players that is extremely good power that's all it is just a missed tackle
37:09but it's a 2v1 against him it's exceptional power from Ollie Thorley
37:16so he'd be gone as well oh dear
37:23Bravo
37:27cool as you like from George Barton we have no time and he had players bearing
37:33down on him and Ollie Thorley as a consequence has seven points for Gloucester
37:39off the back of this search to the line excellent from Thorley and well
37:45astoundingly good from Barton it really is even on a bit of fade on it just
37:53amazing skill from the young kid no doubt to pick up the ball and knock over
37:58a drop goal instantly with a bit of faith and a face that just says yeah and
38:04that's the best reaction exactly is completely ordinary that's something you
38:09do all the time
38:16because it's a show they're entitled to be replaced the players come back on the
38:19original title runoff tactical so he's back on me play on so my understanding
38:26here is we've got a couple of blood replacements because because there was
38:29blood injury and an HIA we need clarification to make sure that the
38:32players were entitled to be replaced all good 15 on 15 thank you
38:35Pearson patience that's so do toys come on for Will Stewart again for blood and
38:41Josh Bayliss is back with us as well I think that's on account of Ross Maloney
38:49having to go off so game on again with ten minutes to play ten points in it
38:57Englefield on it scrum half for Gloucester potentially significant given
39:05he's got an enormous boots and could pump over anything within 60 meters but
39:11bath importantly have secured the ball and Bayliss is juggling with it and
39:17Gloucester are on red alert again Scribner sizing up the options and Alice
39:23is the first of those could see ever willing
39:31thank you
39:42Gloucester ensuring that this is slow progress at least for bath but they are
39:48making headway incrementally could see her with another important burst forwards
39:53and now potentially some width and Lawrence breaking free for a score a
39:58really really important one
40:04Ollie Lawrence a brace here against Gloucester last November and he's
40:12dotted down yet again a superb choice by Lawrence he's been one of the standout
40:18players for bath they came from a turnover from under Hill and codes here
40:23they did so well got the territory put pressure on indeed powerful stuff up
40:28front as well
40:39Atkinson to Clements like beyond 10 meters bath with good numbers and up and
40:49over the top they go well in bouncing off only Lawrence Englefield whips it
40:55away it's offset ducks and there's work to be done here by said Blake Clement
41:07the tip on the clock and Clements again and then a fingertip from red path
41:13that's going to be yellow he knows it it was an instinctive reach off he will
41:23trot to the bin one thing for Gloucester that could be an issue as the season
41:35progresses if teams know that you're going to relentlessly play out from your
41:40own half they're going to set up for that defensively and that becomes harder
41:45and harder to be able to get out your own half screwed up injecting a bit of
41:53life and Baylis hitting the gas brilliantly and his Emmons tackles
41:58himself on the 22 did really well to cling on to that swiftly back into
42:09position now ready to be in support for Raleigh Lawrence who is brought to the
42:15ground and Gloucester are doing their level best to slow this ball up if
42:18nothing else they've given up the penalty
42:27so back in Sun and Val republished in the guilty parties I think it was
42:32recovered Ruskin actually whose activities eventually led Adam to blow
42:37the whistle like it just enough here to see Ollie Lawrence how much he wants it
42:43this season we are 77 minutes in and he's hitting that ball as hard as he
42:48possibly can yeah you might not be I might have thought it'd be okay for him
42:54to just avoid that one no he is flat at the line 77 minutes in it's that kind of
43:01game isn't it you're either all in or not at all and Ollie Lawrence exemplifying
43:07that this afternoon he's had another good day at the office today which
43:16Steve Walt Bothwick the autumn internationals were in the con we
43:19really pleased about you need him firing we need that target for England
43:25to be able to go to especially offline out interesting bit is who who
43:29potentially partners him in midfield will it be yeah Alex Vesovsky will it be
43:34Fraser Dingwall lots of combinations available bath edging forwards here
43:42looking to kill this off Nile and it's very very close indeed he turns and
43:49there's the next score the score that really kills things off and brings up 50
43:56at Kings home for bath in the worst country Derby
44:00Yako Katsuya is the man accepting the congratulations and with a couple of
44:06minutes to play this is now looking like a very comprehensive victory been
44:14excellent up front over the alley been so good we've seen this all game this
44:19power game five meters out reminds us of the extra of old they've been very
44:24potent they've scored some great tries in the opening rounds of this
44:27premiership but they've really tightened it up today and the forward
44:31pack Ben O'Brien has obviously got two for himself
44:33Jack O'Keefe a great ball carrier getting straight into it but they've
44:36been brilliant when they've been five meters out from Gloucester's line I ask
44:44you Ali as well before the game 6-2 bath bench split wonder why they've done that
44:50I think we're seeing the reasons why the forward pack coming off the bench has
44:54just added more power to it and that's where they've scored a lot of their tries
44:58today
45:14that's got a nice little fade on it as well 55 points to 31 this is the biggest
45:20score now that bath have scored against Gloucester anywhere just a handful of
45:27seconds remaining Ted Hill who's been instrumental time for your part of the
45:32match Sam yeah Ted Hill was just in shot there he's been excellent but absolutely
45:36phenomenal kick chase line of defense carry hits but my Gallagher Premiership
45:41play of the match we've just been complimented but that man only Lawrence
45:45has been superb grown into the game but he's our Gallagher Premiership play of
45:49the match superb why'd they go to Edmonds Lawrence running a support line
45:55here Edmonds still moving and they're struggling to contain bath on that left
46:01flank the ball finding its way into touch and prompting the end of a
46:06thunderous Derby bath winning a game of swashbuckling adventure and they pulled
46:14away Johan van Graan's side in this second period with six tries to add to
46:19their two from the first half Gloucester at times full of joy full of running but
46:26ultimately very well beaten full-time at Kings home Gloucester 31 bath 55 so
46:33there we have it bath absolutely rampant in that second half the most amount of
46:38points they put on Gloucester in their Premiership for Gloucester we're gonna
46:43have to look their wounds entertaining of course but certainly need to tighten
46:47up their defense fair play to bath winning that one 55 points to 31 we'll
46:52see you next week
