00:00Good afternoon everybody and welcome to Sandy Park in the sunshine on day two of Derby weekend.
00:10Isn't life good? Up and down the Gallagher Premiership things are getting personal as
00:16we prove that nearest doesn't always mean dearest. The West Country Derby intensifies
00:21things of course it does but there is a bigger picture here for Exeter who are one defeat
00:26away from their worst run of form since 2014 and hosting a side who've won their last seven
00:32on the road. Five changes to the heavies and two to the speedsters for the home side. Scorcio
00:39is rested and raring whilst the prodigious Roosie Tuima and Ross Vincent return to the
00:43starting pack. But the headlines are all about the Puma on debut in the engine room, Franco
00:48Molina and the returning Jacques Vermeulen at blindside. A mammoth amount of punch between
00:54those two. Harvey Skinner is back at ten having not started for the first time in
00:5818 months at the Stonex and Paul Brown-Bamper gets the chance to sparkle once more on the
01:03wing opposite Manny Fey-Ruboso. Judged so indispensable that despite being away with
01:09England in the week he will be with us from the off. Five differences to draw your attention
01:15to amongst the bears. Premiership player of the month Max Malins and James Williams were
01:20both injured in that dazzling ransacking of the rep. And so Bernhard Jensen van Rensburg
01:24with a swish of those luscious locks shifts to 12 and young Joe Jenkins accompanies him
01:30in the midfield. Santiago Grandona retains the open sidebar, of course he does, across
01:35from Steven Luatua with Skipper Fitzharding packing down at the base. England's Harry Randall
01:41and Ellis Genge spent their weeks wearing roses rather than bears so they're amongst
01:45the replacements today as Jake Woolmore and Kieran Marmiam join the run out 15. Pat Lamb
01:53admitted in the week with a rueful smile that wounded beasts are the most dangerous of them
01:57all and acknowledged just how often Chiefs have had the beating of bears. Chiefs all
02:06in black receiving the kick-offer. They are going to war across the West Country right
02:15now. 100 miles away, Gloucester take on Bath and for those soaking up the sunshine at Sandy
02:20Park we get another derby. It was a great chase by Jensen van Rensburg off the kick-off.
02:32Really put pressure on Exeter which has meant that actually with a fairly poor clearance
02:37from Sam Maunder they get the ball back Bristol in a really promising attacking position.
02:46They start so well this side. Six minutes for their first score at Kingston Park in
02:52the opening round and their next two rounds inside the opening two. Forward pass though
02:58won't help and an inauspicious start to Rich Lane's outing at full-back today in the place
03:04of the injured Max Mahlens. Well it was a bit of a wobbler wasn't it? From AJ McGinty
03:13and then Rich Lane thought well whatever you've chucked me I can do just as much. Up and over
03:19the top looping pass to escorting Brown Banto. Maunder on to Vermeulen who takes the direct
03:31route grappling with Batley who eventually hauls the South African to ground. Hawkins
03:39on to Woodburn who's popped up on the wing with Hodge for company and Vincent in in support.
03:46Does really well there to just grab an extra yard or two on the floor as a furiously squirming
03:51Feywoboso. Well it's interesting because it's the second time that Feywoboso's ended up
03:58at nine. He's coming off his wing looking for work which is what you really want your
04:02wingers to do. You don't want them sat in those tramlines waiting for the ball to come
04:06to them. When someone like that gets their hands on the ball it immediately interests
04:10defenders and when you're close to a ruck that can be a really interesting opportunity
04:15for a back like Feywoboso who's got feet to terrify forwards. Josh Hodge the Premiership's
04:22pre-eminent marksman this year. Eight of his nine kicks slotted so far and the scorer
04:29of every one of Exeter's points up in North London last week against Saracens.
04:39Well it clattered the upright several times by the sounds of it but over it goes.
04:44You nearly did a job on him.
04:45They all count. It's an important score for Exeter to go ahead at this stage of the game.
04:57He didn't hold back. It did only hit it once but it hit it that hard it may have
05:01echoed around this ground.
05:02Hold here, hold.
05:22Feywoboso races back to gather that one and you can just feel the excitement every time he gets
05:29his hands on the ball. Well there's a head-to-head worth the ticket price alone. Ibertoyet up
05:37against Feywoboso and the ball just about recycled by the barnstorming Bristolian winger
05:43Marmion through the hands of Luatua out onto the wing and there's something on here
05:48and here's that Bristol. There's going to be an almighty chase on from Hodge but it won't be enough.
05:53Not by half and a Bears flag driven into Devonian turf. Kieran Marmion
06:04wearing nine takes the opportunity with both hands and slams it down.
06:09And this is absolute quality from Bristol. No space. Pace on the ball, pace off the ball.
06:16Two v ones time and time again. Let the ball do the hard work. Kieran Marmion under the stick.
06:24Look at this. Run straight, come back in off your angles. Joe Batley doing brilliant just to
06:30suck the defence in. Really good angle to see. It's over to AJ McGinty to make it a full seven points.
06:45Drift to wide, flag stay down but the first try goes the way of the visitors. I can't emphasize
06:59look at I mean it's just brilliant. You talk about attracting defenders you don't have to
07:03be going forward to fix defenders. It's about where they are in terms of the vicinity of you
07:08as a as a player with a ball in hand. Good acceleration onto the ball from Batley which
07:13draws in the full back. Across the face from the try scorer ball patted down here says Woodburn.
07:19Chase is on. Marmion's there. Lane is on. Desperate scrambling defence from Bares
07:24gets it done for now because Feiwoboso has it and classes into Luatua Tuima.
07:34Four, four, four. Straight down the passing lane you're offside.
07:39Well, it's Josh Caulfield who's going to be having a rest but broke down in midfield
07:52for Bristol and then he just thought Woodburn would be away there. Maybe, maybe a couple of
07:59years ago he would have put that under the sticks. That might be being a bit harsh because Rich Lane
08:04and the covering defence were flying.
08:08Straight up, not across please, gents. Thank you. Perfect. How many? Bares defending with
08:1614. There was no hesitation there. Harvey Skinner headed straight to the corner.
08:25They fluffed a couple of these in North London last week but this time it's cleanly down
08:30from Molina. Moore is formed but struggling. No forward momentum to be found for these
08:38black jerseys so they'll have to use it. Tuima is queuing up for it. Skinner barking orders.
08:49Stolen yet again. Each and every time Chiefs have got close to that whitewash they have been
08:55pickpocketed by Pat Latham's men. Well, keeping the ball in those precious areas of the field is
09:01ultimately important in these games because you don't get offered up too many opportunities. I
09:05think that's the third or fourth time that ball has been turned over in the Bears 22.
09:13Fine communication there between Hodge and Brown. Bampo but also well read by young Jack Bates on
09:18the wing for Bears. Makes the tackle as the white defensive line resets Hawkins. Onto Skinner,
09:26straightens, finds Woodburn. Beautiful pass to Faye Woboso. Off low, back in field. Off low,
09:31back in field but finds a bear and yet another chance goes begging for this ailing Exeter Chiefs.
09:41A great defensive effort by Bristol and Rich Lane there in the corner
09:46because it was a great piece of precision handling. Straightening up and then Faye Woboso,
09:53that tackle from Ibertoysk. Really top quality. Look at this tackle though. Nice and low, get
10:03underneath the fend. We talk about the sparkle and the razzle dazzle of Bristol Bears but they
10:12are looking more granitey this year. Crouch. Bind. Buzz. Scrummaging with seven. Stay behind
10:24the ball Kieran. Get behind the ball. Step back half a step, you're right in front of the ball,
10:29thank you. But looks like Rich Lane might have joined them. Skinner. Hurtles that one across
10:36the face of the defence. All bears but over. Crashes one of Baxter's rookie wrecking balls
10:45in Paul Brown-Vampo. A first premiership try for the flyer and that will have done
10:54Devonian Hearts the world of good. Well it's a brilliant set-piece move. I just wonder whether
11:01the ball needs to go that far across. Maybe Hodge was the recipient that should have got the ball
11:08but actually when you've got someone with the strength, power and pace of Brown-Vampo why not
11:15give him a shot because that's not a bad effort at a tackle from Rich Lane who just gets swatted
11:20by the young winger.
11:31Well the first one hit the sticks, the second one no one near but Axeter do regain the lead
11:37in this one. What a special moment for a special talent. It's a great ball, really long ball
11:44and look at the power, the ability to just drive his legs through the contact.
11:50There was Vermeulen, the put pass in from Tuima on to Sia who's had a couple of jaw-dropping
11:56interventions already. Fresh after his weekend off Skinner goes crossfield. Is that Brown-Vampo
12:02popping up again on the other side? How much turf is he covering? He's getting through a huge amount
12:10of work. I see Faye Woboso looking up thinking well that should have been me.
12:14Time off. Getting through a huge amount of work, so close to nicking that ball off Ibituye, look.
12:30He weathered the storm of that yellow card really well. Bristol so much pressure,
12:33they've not been up this end of the field in what feels like a lifetime.
12:38Now Ibituye ducking a shoulder and Hammersley is driven backwards and ultimately upended by
12:45the power of the winger. 11 black offside, 11 black offside never on. Advantage, going away.
12:53Penalty advantage Bristol. Pass off the chest of Lua Tua, straightening is Jantje Van Rensburg
12:59of Lua Tua. Straightening is Jantje Van Rensburg and splashing down in the corner is Joe Batley.
13:09Coast to coast go Bristol Bears. It's a swashbuckling score that puts them straight
13:15back ahead. Well as soon as Matt Carley was playing advantage you knew that Exeter were struggling.
13:26Did really well to get to that position down that that fine margin on the touchline and then
13:31Brown Bampo straying offside as soon as Jantje Van Rensburg he picks the perfect line because the
13:38outside defender feels really threatened by Jantje Van Rensburg taking off in a slightly
13:44diagonal direction. Hodge just hovers for half a second and that's enough space for Batley to dot
13:51The first one of these sailed white with an even tougher effort ahead. What can AJ McGinty manage?
14:01Oh well he nails the tricky one. 12 plays 8 with 30 minutes gone in this one. Good ball that pushes
14:10Jantje Van Rensburg and really no one's going to stop him now.
14:17And really no one's going to stop Batley from their big unit five meters out.
14:27Wait go back go back thank you. So it's still Hawkins in at 10. Mournda
14:32finds Hammersley. Look at him dip ahead and pump those legs. Molina on to Hawkins over the top
14:39to Faye Woboso who just has got springs in his feet. The footwork is electric.
14:45That less so. Gathered well from a totemic height by Molina. Kapstik back into the pocket
14:52for Hammersley who throws the little dummy and then throws the ball. Tackle made by Marmian on Woodburn.
15:00Kapstik with Lua Tua open side on open side.
15:08Hawkins just delicately passing that on to Jendle but he is hurtled through the washer and down
15:14again. Chiefs with so much ball so much territory but precious little to show for it.
15:24Sensibly there Hammersley rode the tackle. Just bade his time before making the placement.
15:33Hodge a name we've not said in a little while. Brown Bampo a name that we've said to the point
15:38of exhaustion because hasn't he been omnipresent.
15:45Here is Street as the phases mount and the pressure builds but still Chiefs
15:51not making it into the 22. They are being held at arm's length by a battalion of bears.
16:00Faye Woboso hungry for work spots a gap only needs a little chink of light to hurtle away.
16:07He roars his delight and makes being lethal look like so much fun.
16:20Manny Faye Woboso is a phenomenon and he proves it again. Well both wingers absolutely flying but
16:29the difference is that Faye Woboso gets the ball here and he looks up when he sees a prop.
16:35Attacker prop that's exactly the the mismatch that players like that want to try and find.
16:42Unfortunately I think it's Jake Woolmore gets too wide and when you've got someone like that
16:48the fend that comes after that is outstanding but you have to tighten up in and around the break.
16:55Make that area of your defense really solid and then adjust further out but this is the one.
17:00Look here steps out looks look at that fend you don't often see
17:06Bernhard Janssen van Rensburg fend it off like that shows you how strong he is.
17:17Yeah it's all good Matt all good yeah been checked no foul play. Well David Rose our TMO
17:24checking a few details in the background there but the score will stand and what a time for it.
17:28Chiefs will head in ahead at the break. Hodge with the opportunity to compound that lead and so he does.
17:41Scores from the two wingers Brown Bampo and Faye Woboso responses from Marmion and Batley for the
17:47visitors and three points in it after a highly entertaining first 40.
17:53Steepling from Skinner just ricochets through the fingertips of the newly introduced James Dunn
18:12knocks on in the process we go down as a reclaimed restart for X the Chiefs whose
18:20loose head looks in some considerable discomfort.
18:29Scott's CEO you just wonder whether he hyper extended his elbow a bit.
18:39Skinner saw Janssen van Rensburg in front of him and somehow decided that the option was to run
18:45right at the South African. Vincent taking on Woolmore with a little help from his mate Yusefa Scott.
18:56Ball heads in and on to Hodge and one of the many pumas involved today
19:01Grandona told to get his mitts off it what a debut he had at the rep a pair of tries.
19:0917 tackles and a yellow card just to keep things interesting.
19:15Quick ball again front foot ball for Chiefs who are grappling their way upfield through Maulina.
19:26Vincent well read what a shot that was from Joe Jenkins in the midfield there but
19:31they reload and they go again and right before that packed out stand to a
19:35man a high tackle their approval only by Bristol 3 on 15.
19:40High shots from Max Le Heath which means that there's a free hit coming the way
19:47of Exeter there. That kick was lovely but we will have to come back upfield.
19:55Yeah they'll come back because if they get the penalty they can kick to touch and
19:59regather possession. He racked up the phases there did Exeter. It almost looked like they'd
20:08gone through at half time and they need to try and play with the ball in the air a bit more.
20:12They're offloading game coming to the fore but I think they're the shapes that they're using
20:17and allowing them to get to the edges of tackles.
20:20And they're shifting that point of defense all the time.
20:23It's really difficult for Bristol to really get set to come forward together with some sort of
20:32sorry defensive integrity.
20:47When he gets called back and Matt Carley walks very slowly
20:51bang into the middle of the field you go yeah do you know what well we're here.
21:01He's got an almighty boot on him has Hodge.
21:10When any wind there there is today down in the southwest.
21:14Well that flag that end is going that way the other one down the other end is going the other
21:19way so let's say this end of the field he's going with him. I could read it off his hair
21:27She's flushering beautifully and just as beautiful is that strike sweet as you like dissects the uprights
21:38and Chiefs grow their lead to six points.
21:42It's just a bit of a soft penalty isn't it from a Bristol Bears perspective
21:46offering up three points like that which is dutifully taken by the Exeter fullback.
21:52Up she goes and Bates waits beneath it this time he sticks to the scripts but
21:58he's well wrapped up by Brown Bampo tackle inside.
22:06Randall to Dunn McGinty on the wraparound flying up was Feiyue Boso but the footwork
22:12from Lane there have been some scintillating steps across the park today.
22:18One from Genge there. Oh and you can use your footwork in attack but
22:21in that position it's so crucial that Rich Lane used his footwork to get his team out of trouble.
22:28Harem scare him stuff the ball is ripped tackle raining in from Genge on to Roots
22:34whose first carry is a beefy one speaking of beef here goes Ross Vincents.
22:39Capstick with help from Goodrick-Clark and now the Sandy Park faithful start to raise their voices
22:48as flooring it is Woodburn around the corner setting off fine tackle from Bates needed to
22:53be made they're 15 meters out now Exeter 15 meters from what would be a third try.
23:01Yet to manage a bonus point this campaign but top of the to-do list is a win.
23:09They need a victory today and Hawkins is hoping that every twist and turn that he
23:14makes there will get them closer to exactly that Skinner on to Hodge.
23:22Going laterally at this stage Chiefs.
23:28Betoya has stayed down.
23:33Penalty earned Maughams are looking to go quickly but all great slowing things down.
23:40Well an Exeter.
23:42Josh Hodge slightly slow to his feet but with this sort of positioning with the score on the
23:49board as it is 18-12 taking another three would be perfect but instead they've gone for the corner.
23:59It is a gargantuan first throw for Dan Frost and in a cauldron too because it has got
24:06cacophonous at Sandy Park. The crowd expects they want Chiefs back to winning ways as Maunder
24:16summons Hawkins and Woodburn and every available ounce of muscle.
24:23Frost goes it alone support is there they need a scrum half.
24:28It's Feiwoboso who obliges finding his England teammate roots and now the mall trundles up
24:33and over place backwards. Bodies flocking to the breakdown on either side to Ema player of
24:40the match in this one last year but hold down Josh and held up and also Exeter got a six on
24:48two out to the left. Harvey Skinner absolutely fuming that that ball hadn't come out.
25:03That's a good D anyway from Bristol.
25:13That man really chucking himself into everything as you'd expect.
25:21James Dunn heading off for a bit of a patch up with a bit
25:24some claret coming off him. On comes Benjamin Grondonner.
25:29Brother of Santiago just 20 years old been playing for the Pumitas Argentina's under 20 side.
25:43They've had three little three-minute spells so far this season. An earlier introduction than usual.
25:52No seven thank you. Vincent will be hoping to be back with Gonzalo Quesada's azure over the
25:57autumns. Playing for Italy every moment of course live on TNT sports of those brilliant
26:04robbing autumn internationals.
26:10Wallops into Harding and Tom Cairns on wearing 22 replacement scrum half for chiefs
26:17whips that one onto Skinner does so again there. Here's Hawkins fizzes that over the top brown
26:24Bampo snapping ankles and now Goodrich-Clark who does something slightly more straightforward but
26:34gets the job done just as well. Delay on that pass up and onto Vincent. You moved out you moved out
26:39so strong so powerful but so quick too. Speaking of speeds down the touchline Brown Bampo
26:46not held gets away he's only gone and got himself a brace.
26:55Bish bash Brown Bampo
27:00and the chiefs production line just keeps churning out starlets.
27:08He's absolutely loving life and why wouldn't he be. Bucks rugby to premiership rugby easy peasy.
27:17Molina big second rows using their hands who would have thought it.
27:23Simple stuff we've seen it in the first half pick your defenders off
27:26poor decision to step in there from from Bristol but my god did he shift down that
27:31touchline opened up still had a fair bit to do but he left that Bristol defence in his wake.
27:40I'll tell you what he continues in this form Steve Borthwick will be
27:43paying another visit down to the southwest apparently there's another winger.
27:52So
28:12well they say that winning is a habit it's one that chiefs haven't exhibited very much
28:18this season but in this match they are making a habit of fine involvement. It's a lovely strike
28:24from Hodge to ensure that Brown Bampo claims seven points for his side. You can tell the
28:30enthusiasm it's creeping into their defence I say creeping it's been there all day line
28:34speeds just going up and up and up every time Bristol get the ball they're on the back foot
28:40unless you can just win the contact area like Jansa van Rensburg just did.
28:44Intercept from Feiwoboso and if you want to stop Mane of Feiwoboso you're gonna have to catch him first.
28:58The dive at the end is the exclamation point that score merited a fast bonus point try of the season
29:07for Exeter Chiefs and they are rebuilding the ramparts at an ecstatic Sandy Park.
29:16Well they're absolutely flying now aren't they the Chiefs they're back you can see the relief
29:23from the reaction from Feiwoboso but it comes from line speed in defence get up get flat
29:31and try and pick those wide balls off he almost re we he read the mind didn't he
29:39I think it was AJ McGinty I was slightly concerned about people's rib cages when they do that but
29:46good deafness just to
29:49push the ball up in the air regather it and let's see it come on oh that's gonna hurt
29:56gonna hurt he practically came back down with snow on him he went so high
30:03Josh Hodge knocking over the two 32 12 in a game that Rob Baxter would have
30:10been desperate to win this is exactly what he would have wanted
30:26some noise for number 12 Joe Hawkins
30:30Harding rises to claim it this was an area that they really struggled with last week
30:35against Saracens and Bristol know it there is blood in the water here
30:40can they get themselves a first score of this second half when they have been stymied something
30:45rotten back where they started five meters out but with an advantage this time to flax
30:52you can get it wide if they want it between is right out hugging this near touchline but
30:56they're driven backwards and we will bring the penalty into action 16 come here captain
31:06captain 16 twice in a row down here that your players have either taken the ball away or
31:11stopped them from getting the ball he took the ball and kicked it away leave the field
31:15well dan frost made that slightly personal against harry randall since he's come on
31:22as i say they don't want bristol to get their hands on the ball and shift it quickly but you
31:27know you've got to let people get the ball when it's their their penalty when the penalty has
31:32been awarded against you and that could cost exeter 15 minutes to play 10 of which will be
31:40done with 14 men okay two meters here two meters thank you it was at this time in the match and in
31:47this exact location at the wreck that all gray scored off the back of an attacking line out but
31:53this time the arrows are wide of the mark chiefs have the ball back and they will not be in any
32:04whatsoever to play their way out here play the ball it reflects really bristol's afternoon i
32:13think that line out it's been there or thereabouts but it hasn't quite been on point it hasn't been
32:19accurate enough and when they have had the ball thank you well they've not done what they wanted
32:26to do with it hold your space x to hold
32:38yeah for the excellent chiefs for number 16
32:46charge down skinner just turned to see where the ball had landed but the answer was in the
32:50hands of baits he was bouncing and ricocheting through the midfield and look at the line speed
32:56there from vincent but the ball's away and with all gray and he scored a rolling mall try last week
33:03he's produced something that is pure fireworks this time around what overthrown line out
33:12well when you make a mistake bounce back do something positive
33:18what a line picked by all great it's a poor attempt at a tackle from goodrick clark and then
33:24just pace for more great you could have him at 12 probably if you ran out numbers in the backs
33:31good pickup and this is a dangerous time for exeter 32 19 now with the kick having gone over
33:42time off 12 and a half minutes this could get spicy
33:46it is everything you could want from a derby
33:54for both sides again with a bit of a must-win feel about it
33:59definitely you talk about desperation shown by exeter
34:03on the flip side of that here come bristol showing exactly that okay wait for replacement okay eight eight
34:12another change being made by war boxer vincent is done for the afternoon but what a replacement
34:19they have available to them in fred who was down training with gendry with randall with all the
34:25others in england camp this week young savannah rensberg with the restart and returning it with
34:30interest there's an added urge on the back of the back of the back of the back of the back of the
34:37it with interest
34:41there's an added urgency to bristol now as they get it wide
34:45it's the way they know it's the way they sparkle bass
34:50carding he's rustling for it now and just helping out at the breakdown talking in the week about how
34:55they've taken their hand break off they've given themselves permission to lose so long as they do
35:00it the bears way and this is the bears way heads up rugby from mcginty it lands right in the arms
35:07of gabe
35:22to the tmo and check that everything is all right with that one yeah i'm gonna try and get it my
35:27views well from everything i saw live this is all good the line speed opens up the hole
35:35for aj mcginty
35:39and you can see him looking across field he knows where the space is
35:46exeter's defense is shortened up
35:50just bear with me ma'am still trying to find the actual footage just bear with me please tell you
35:54what this goes down as a score i'm fine with the pass on the way out it's the one that comes back
36:00here he comes up one hell of a game on our hands that ball is brilliant
36:04that's fine that's fine it's this one here inside from this player
36:10that's not gone back that's not forward he's overrun it to me i don't doesn't look although
36:16the players in front of me has to reach a long way back to get regather the ball
36:20so it's whether the ball comes forward out of the hand there that's not gone forward
36:23i don't think it does no the ball does not go forward out of the hand he does reach back to
36:28collect it but it's not a forward pass try yeah ball doesn't come back for instances like that
36:36it's going backwards that's correct yeah so try time still off aj mcginty
36:43with the two points spice has arrived
36:47and it is a pearler crucially it's a bonus point score to boot
36:57aj mcginty just looking up just put it in space let the wheels get hold of it
37:05proper proper squeaky bum time for the exeter fans
37:12knock on in the tackle
37:17finding in between two of the most dangerous athletes
37:20in the premiership in glorious glossy galloping tandem
37:34an utterly scintillating bit of top draw rugby magic there is no way this should happen but
37:43that offload the ability to know where your support is coming from
37:46and that footwork is filth utter filth from gabriel ibertoy
37:55this game has turned on his head i didn't see anything apart from a load of push harvey skinner
38:00just done on a sixpence seven
38:07probably just wanted the ball i don't really know what to say wow yeah try as good mate thank you
38:13ibertoy with face splitting defense decimating rugby
38:23and this kick to take the lead that's the lead taken and have exeter chiefs conspired to lose
38:34again in their own backyard nine minutes to play just watch this in out
38:41that is nigh on impossible to defend in terms of what you're saying though this is all about
38:48mental toughness interesting setup from exeter skinner and fey will also right tucked in right
38:54behind the scrum but they're only six seven maybe eight meters in field and with a penalty
39:03if you're an exeter fan please just take the three
39:11so
39:22also it just takes a bit of wind out of the bristol sails slows the game down
39:29makes them a bit twitchy
39:41the yellow card has proven nigh on disastrous for chiefs but what it has done is ensured
39:46that yendel was on the pitch to help with making the pragmatic decision here
39:52it's the right definitely the right decision now a young player to potentially win it for his team
40:01his team five from six this the biggest of the lot over it sails and up rises
40:13the crowds at sandy park 35 33 with five minutes remaining of what is turning into a bit of a west
40:23country classic well it's like two heavyweights isn't it stood toe to toe just slugging each other
40:31who's going to topple over first
40:40and a sound day well scratched by woodburn so at home in that outside center defensive birth
40:49and now randall always allowed to opportunity and in between a will have his hat trick
40:56in what has been the most topsy-turvy and entrancing of affairs
41:04the lease changes yet again he's the hat trick hero and you get the sense there might be another
41:11couple of twists and turns in this one
41:16wow i'll tell you what harry randall has made a hell of a difference look at the line he takes
41:23here okay he breaks in field but look he's come back towards the five meter line that leaves the
41:29space on the outside for ibaraki if he runs straight look he comes off his left shoulder
41:35it just means that it just creates another meter for ibaraki and then look josh hodge is quick
41:42but he made nothing on ibaraki
41:51hat trick for that man away from home 38 35 what are we seeing
41:57the contact injury so they play with 14 they've run out of subs it's a contact injury yes
42:13so
42:2610 tries and 75 points yeah you have to go look at that hang on hang on time's off time's off
42:36such a good line from harry randall he is the grateful recipient
42:42not now 16 stop there's seconds remaining
42:54and just when we thought we had run out of our allocated drama for the afternoon
43:02exeter come up with the penalty time off chips on the table
43:12one final throw of the dice for baxter's tyros
43:20what a time to give away a penalty
43:23i'm just now this is dealing with pressure
43:43he's coming around the back you make sure he goes
43:46off heads gabriel or gray on comes birthday boy will cape on 25 today
44:00happy birthday will you can play your part in one of the games of the season
44:16have you ever seen theatrics like it so many points so many swings of the pendulum
44:26the margins as fine as you could imagine and the drama right up to devonian skies before
44:36stands at sandy park who now watch on a pulled because bears have done it
44:47will cape on come on make a contribution he was the one that made the tackle
44:53that led to the turnover bristol from nowhere have come down to sandy park
45:02and properly dusted up exeter
45:07well the west country right now is bear country one involvement one match winning
45:16intervention at the end of 80 minutes which have delivered in spades
45:23tomay your galaga premiership player of the match well it's that man there he's been outstanding
45:29from nowhere gabriella betoya has dragged his team back into and beyond exeter chiefs
45:39full-time exeter chiefs 35 bristol bears 40
