00:02This is where I always wanted to do some digging because I wanted to see, okay, if we add 30
00:08corn ferry tour rookies, which is a huge number, 30 is a big, big number to add to the FedEx
00:14Cup fall.
00:16Is that dipping too much into the churn of what we may say that, you know what, you probably
00:22didn't play well enough this season to deem yourself worthy of, you know, those additional
00:28starts to try to make that top 125.
00:31But the argument is, this is what the whole fall is about is for those players to have
00:36that second opportunity to still try to make it in the top 125 and keep their card.
00:43So looking at it, if you added 30 guys to the deal, it would go if at the Shriners open,
00:51the last guy in that would be 211 in the FedEx Cup, which it's, it's not a quite a perfect
00:57math system.
00:58It would just go minus 30 because certain guys are not playing.
01:01It actually goes down to 150.
01:04So 150 on the FedEx Cup, which I feel that that's just a clear that for people to understand
01:10that's 30 up for the last player in the field is 211 and that's 30 up from there.
01:15So that's equivalently where you'd be entering these corn ferry tour guys where this is kind
01:20of where I've settled in on this argument, which I think that if you had going into the
01:26corn ferry tour season, these players knowing what they're playing for, right?
01:30Like, so the first spot, you have all these exemptions that give the players championship
01:34now the U S open, but let's say that going into the year, they had one extra thing to
01:38play for, which is if you get into the top 10 of the corn ferry tour lists that will
01:44exempt you into the FedEx Cup fall.
01:47Now you will not be able to accumulate any points, but it'll give you an opportunity
01:52to be playing for more money and status.
01:55So what did we just see this week, Matt McCarty wins the golf tournament and get status made
02:00a whole bunch of money.
02:01Now we all knew who he is.
02:02So it's a win, win, win.
02:03So we're starting to introduce some of the top players that came off of the corn ferry
02:07tour.
02:08And the one way in which now, Hey, how do we get, you know, these players into the signature
02:13events because they're not eligible to compete in the next 10, because they're not accumulating
02:17FedEx Cup points.
02:18Like these players did all season, make it a straight battle for these 10 guys.
02:25And one spot gets in to maybe the first two signature events.
02:30You got a totally different storyline.
02:32Now to follow, you got 10 new guys playing the entire fall and then, and then they're
02:36also battling for what would be signature events being, whether it's after the century
02:41and it'd be Riviera and pebble.
02:43I think that would be really cool.
02:45You get to get the top 10 players.
02:47We're introduced to their storylines.
02:49I think 30 is a lot.
02:50I mean, one 50, you know, that's, that used to be the addition, the conditional status
02:55one 26, one 50.
02:56So that, that was also a number that meant something to a PGA tour member like myself.
