00:00Growing up and playing Canadian junior and amateur golf, you know, compared to maybe
00:09America where it's much more of just like trying to get in front of the coaches, I would
00:13imagine that Canada maybe was a little bit more of a system where Canada golf is trying
00:17to get, you know, these guys out to where they can eventually be on tour.
00:21Yeah, there's there's not as many events in Canada growing up, they try and do a good
00:26job of creating some higher profile junior events.
00:30But up until I guess in my junior career, you know, college was a was a goal.
00:35So I wanted to impress coaches.
00:37But I mean, I guess I didn't really know what I needed to do for that.
00:43Just play golf had fun.
00:44They did have a good system in place and the Canadian national team.
00:49I think I first got on the national team right around when I had committed to go to Kent
00:53State.
00:54So, you know, they certainly helped develop me and, you know, get me ready for college
01:00golf.
01:01But yeah, I don't know.
01:02I think just got, you know, there's some big events, the Canadian junior championship and
01:06Canadian amateur played in a number of times, you know, starting when I was like 14 years
01:11old.
01:12So I think those events had some college coach eyes there.
01:15But it certainly wasn't anything like the AJGA sort of program, the US junior.
01:21But yeah, I did play zero AJGA events.
01:24I did play in California in the Callaway Junior Worlds.

01:31I played I played with you at the US Kids Golf Championship in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
01:39I'll never forget this southern guy named Smiley.

01:45I did not know that we play together.
01:47But I remember playing at Jekyll Island.
01:49I still remember I got six because I was telling all my friends at school in the second
01:53grade that I was the sixth best player in the world because, I mean, it was the US Kids
01:58World Junior.
01:59It felt like, you know, that was accurate at the time.

02:09But yeah, they I don't know, I guess did enough good stuff and I got got noticed and got noticed
