BJP leader Anil Antony on Kerala government passing a resolution against Waqf Board Amendment Bill

Delhi: On asking about resolution passed by kerala government in assembly against waqf board amendment bill BJP Leader Anil Antony said, There had been many instances in kerala recently, it has come to everyone’s attention that 600 families from poor fisherman community now that waqf board are claiming their land these were all land legally purchased and developed by poor fisherman community and such instances we are hearing more and more in kerala, they all have come forward and requested the central government to reaffirm the waqf bill so that these kind of incidents does not happen. 00:00There have been many instances in Kerala recently, one in Cherai beach, another in Munnambakkam beach,

00:08where it has come to everyone's attention that almost 600 families who belong from the poor fishermen community,

00:17now the Wakaf board are claiming their land.

00:20These were all land that was legally purchased and it was developed by this poor fishermen community.

00:27And now such instances we are hearing more and more in Kerala and there are lakhs of similar instances across India.

00:35At this moment, many major institutions from Kerala, including the Sivaramalabar church, including the Sivaramalangara church,

00:44they all have come forward and have requested the central government to reform the Wakaf bill so that these kind of instances do not happen.

00:52And at this moment, it is very disappointing but not surprising that the Congress party and the Communist party,

00:59the LDF and the UDF in Kerala, who are part of the same alliance in India, in Kerala they are coming together

01:06and once again they are unanimously opposing reforms that the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA government is bringing to ensure justice for people.

01:16At this moment, the left and the Congress, they are taking an anti-people stance and just for their appeasement politics,

01:25just for their vote bank politics, just to appease certain minorities, they are taking this kind of stances,

01:32which is preventing the people of Kerala, many of these poor people like the fishermen in Cherai and Kudambakkam,

01:40who have legally purchased this land and their constitutional right of owning property as well as to live in dignity is now being hampered by the left and the Congress.

01:52This is disappointing.

01:53Mr. Rahul Gandhi was the MP from there for the last five years.

01:58Last time, Mr. Gandhi was sure that he was going to lose Amethi, therefore he decided to stand in Wayanad,

02:05which was a constituency where because of certain reasons, the Congress had an advantage.

02:10This time, he hid the fact that he was once again going to contest from a second constituency.

02:17He misled the people of Wayanad and after he won Amethi, he has gone back from Wayanad.

02:24People of Wayanad say that in the last five years, when Mr. Rahul Gandhi was the MP,

02:28he has visited the constituency less than the number of times the wild animals actually come to the constituency occasionally.

02:35So, Mr. Rahul Gandhi never used to come to that constituency.

02:38The development work which has been done in the last five years have been very abysmal.

02:42And now Priyanka Gandhi is coming there as the new candidate.

02:46The Congress always is a party that believes in one family and it's only a party that believes and only works for one family.

02:55So, Priyanka Gandhi is naturally chosen as the heir apparent of Rahul Gandhi's constituency.

03:02And she is now saying that she is going to continue the work that Rahul Gandhi was doing in the last five years, which essentially is nothing.

03:09So, we are very hopeful and optimistic that the people of Kerala, the people of Wayanad will make the right choice this time.

03:16They will vote for development and progress and reject the Congress party.

03:20And you will see massive gain by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Wayanad also this time.
