Two incumbent members of parliament from India's Congress party were stuck after the voting machines they were using malfunctioned in West Bengal on Thursday.
In another incident, President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee, has been accused of trying to bribe voters with money ahead of the polls.
Mukherjee who is contesting from the Jangipur constituency, which was earlier represented by his father is facing a major challenge as he won the by-poll with a wafer thin margin of just 2,500 votes. "They are using money power to win. But all this will not work out, people are angry with the Congress," a district TMC leader said.
