TDP MLA appointment to Tirumala Board kicks up row; why netagiri over Tirupati

The appointment of an Andhra Pradesh MLA to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board by the AP government has kicked up a row. This after a video surfaced where the Payakaraopeta MLA Vangalapudi Anitha said claim she was a devout Christian. The youth wing of the BJP has slammed the government over the appointment and demanded her removal, calling the move an act of 'sacrilege'. Anitha has rubbished the claims and said that the video was tampered with. Earlier, questions were raised after businessman Putta Sudhakara Yadav was appointed the chairman of the TTD Board. Some Pro-Hindu groups had objected to the appointment of Yadav, claiming he had 'campaigned' for various Christian events.
