00:00The sale of some vape products in the country has become a hot topic.
00:03This is after the Department of Trade and Industry, or DTI,
00:06stopped the tax stamps on the products of Vape Civil Custodio in Italy.
00:16Vape shop businesses are affected by the Department of Trade and Industry
00:20stopping the tax stamps on vape products.
00:24This vape shop is now in danger of closing
00:27because two vape brands are being sold with tax stamps.
00:31It's really hard to sell now, it's almost closed.
00:37The display in this vape shop is almost empty.
00:40Since DTI confiscated some disposable big vape brands like Flava,
00:46their sales have declined.
00:48Our sales have declined because there's a limit to what we can sell.
00:55That's where it all started because there are still a lot of disposable vape that don't have a permit.
01:05Some manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers of shamed vape products
01:12like Snow Plus, Instabar, Dencat, Geek Bar, Vape Gin, Wave, Boss, Devox Bar, and Uzo.
01:20The so-called vape brands in Section 4 of the No Tax Stamp
01:24under Republic Act No. 11900, or Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act,
01:31although the selection of vape products is now more limited,
01:34it's still a favor for the vape user.
01:37The government's restriction on the use of unauthorized documents in the sale of vape products
01:42It's like they removed the use of smoke control in the air conditioning.
01:46Because the smoke is coming from the air-conditioning.
01:49It's a waste of money.
01:51Because it's also for the consumers.
01:53Because there are people who make vape-infused vapes.
01:56So that they can get rid of the pain.
02:00It's really painful.
02:01Because what they're using is cheap.
02:03But it's painful.
02:05The last 2 million pesos will go to the first offender.
02:104 million pesos will go to the second offender.
02:13And 5 million pesos will go to the third-time offender.
02:16And they will cancel the business permit and licenses.
02:19If we go back, the BIR ordered the placement of internal revenue stamps
02:24on all vape products based on Revenue Circular Order 59-2024
02:29which became effective since June 1.
02:31The absence of an internal revenue stamp means that the excise tax will not be paid.
02:37And the BIR can confiscate vape products for tax evasion cases.
02:42The Philippine Standard License is also suspending imported vape brands
02:46while the investigation into the alleged violation continues.
02:49Vel Custodio for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
