00:00While riding his motorcycle to work at the Micron Memory Malaysia factory,
00:05former Navy veteran and current production supervisor
00:08Daniel Abdullah's life took a dramatic turn.
00:30Despite being injured, disoriented and suffering from severe spinal injuries,
00:36Daniel's military training kicked in and guided him to do what he had always been taught.
01:00Daniel is just one of the many veterans who shared their stories with Human Resources Minister
01:07Stephen Sim, who praised his resilience and said it highlighted the value that veterans
01:12bring to the workforce. For Sim, the discipline and loyalty instilled by their military experience
01:19make these veterans invaluable assets to the job market. The minister also honored 25 veterans,
01:26including Daniel, who joined Micron Memory through Telencorp's Veteran MyWira program.
01:33Supported by Perhebat, the Armed Forces Veteran Affairs Corporation,
01:37this initiative helps soldiers transition into civilian careers after 21 years of service.
01:44Thanks to the MyWira program, Daniel and 24 other veterans are now employed at Micron Memory,
01:50earning between RM3,000 and RM4,000 a month.
01:55Last week, Telencorp and Northern Corridor Implementation Authority signed a partnership
02:00to expand the program, providing upskilling opportunities for veterans in the northern region.
02:07With Telencorp's support and the commitment of Minister Stephen Sim, Malaysia's veterans are
02:12finding a second chance at building successful civilian careers, a win for both the veterans
