00:00And we're looking to build on a positive performance last weekend as they welcomed in form Motherwell to the capital.
00:08An encouraging performance last weekend from Hibs but nothing to show for it as they welcome a Motherwell side who have won five of their last six
00:17and aim to head into the international break with that positive momentum.
00:22David Gray was so encouraged by Sy's display at Eibach that he's gone unchanged for this afternoon's encounter.
00:29Chris Cadden continues on the right wing and Mikola Kuharevic looks to put his penalty miss from last week behind him as he leaves the line once more.
00:38Motherwell are missing Dan Casey after his red last weekend so Kofi Bamer starts in the league for the first time
00:44and Apostolos Stamatolopoulos starts for the first time since injury against Rangers in August.
00:51Johnny Kountroombas takes his place in the squad for the first time since signing.
00:58It's last season's eighth against ninth, both will feel they're capable of much better this time around.
01:06In the Australia squad that was named during the week, Kwon who had a good game like many of his teammates against Rangers.
01:21Shift like the ball from side to side now they come forward, Cadden back to Miller, tries to turn away from Wilson but the young wing back's done well.
01:41And Motherwell advance, swings it in back post, a difficult one to take and a reasonable effort in the end.
01:51Stamatolopoulos, comfortable take though from Bursic.
02:07Kofi Bamer then will take what looks like it's going to be a long throw.
02:13Indeed it is, out comes the keeper, good fist.
02:17Back it comes, Motherwell looking to keep the pressure on, Halliday's lost out to Triantis who immediately feeds it forward for Hoylett.
02:26Hibbs on the counter here, Hoylett steps away from Wilson.
02:31Not a bad cut back in the direction of Kuharevic, they're in with Stravkovski.
02:37Good covering play from the midfielder to thwart the Hibbs counter attack.
02:44Which looked dangerous, Hoylett did well.
02:48His cut back was a good one, Stravkovski on the cover, approaching the quarter of an hour mark.
02:54And Hibbs, looking to likely aside in these early stages.
03:00Can he turn that into goals here as Hoylett fires this one back post, Miller with a chance.
03:05Maybe Liam Gordon did just enough to put him off at the last minute, but that looked like a real opportunity for the Australian.
03:12He'll probably feel he should have done better.
03:16There's good pressure from Kwon to win it back for Hibernian, now Campbell invites Triantis who hits the deck.
03:24And he's going to be booted for simulation there.
03:29Paul McGinn's adamant that there was no contact and the referee agrees with him.
03:38Cadden back to Kwon.
03:43Here's Obita, time to measure across, he has a good ball!
03:51Saved, Kuharevic on the rebound, somehow it ends up wider than balls.
03:56Kuharevic cannot believe it.
03:58Nor can his manager.
04:00No credit Aston Oxford are there.
04:04Kuharevic must have believed he'd scored here.
04:09Great reactions from the keeper.
04:12Hoylett's corner.
04:14Oxburgh's missed that one, he's bailed out on the line.
04:17Still, Hibs might have the opportunity.
04:20Mother will get it clear.
04:22It's a free kick in any event.
04:26Oxburgh having saved his side a moment ago, had to be saved himself by Lennon Miller on the line.
04:34After he completely missed this, Kuharevic is the man denied once again.
04:43Kwon, poor touch from him.
04:48And Mother will try and break here as Robinson picks up.
04:53Back comes Miller.
04:55Robinson sticking to his task though, and blocked by Eik Potata.
04:59An important challenge.
05:01Good play from Lewis Miller, steps away from Wilson.
05:12Caught there, right on the edge of the area.
05:17Little cards for Wilson.
05:22Probably made the foul just in time.
05:26Simply couldn't have waited any longer.
05:29Nonetheless, this is a good opportunity for Hibernian.
05:36It's Hoylett who goes for it, but he can't hit the target.
05:39Good couple of yards over.
05:42Trying to catch Oxford at his near post, but nowhere near it.
05:47Looking to get the noses in front here before half-time, as Hoylett prepares to take the corner kick.
05:54The in-post ball is easily defended by Krzywkowski, but it will come back to Hoylett.
05:59That's not a bad ball, Miller trying to make something of it.
06:02He's kept it alive for Kwon.
06:04He'll try and cut it wide, good save, Oxford up to tip it wide.
06:11Kwon denied a couple of times at Ibrox last weekend, and denied here by Oxford again.
06:18Triantis almost turning into trouble there.
06:25Now he's lost it to Stamatopoulos-Robinson.
06:30Miller's had his pocket picked, though, by Kuharevic.
06:34Good run from Kuharevic, chance for Chris Cannon!
06:37Brilliant save again from Oxford.
06:41Cannon must have thought he was opening the scoring against his former side.
06:48Campbell losing out, dragging Miller back.
06:54One of the more obvious yellow cards you'll see this weekend.
07:02Frustrating afternoon for Josh Campbell, hasn't really got going.
07:07Unable to influence the game as he would.
07:10Miller slides that forward, Stamatopoulos, what a goal!
07:15And Motherwell are in front!
07:17And Stamatopoulos has his first Motherwell goal!
07:20And what a way to strike it!
07:24It's their first real effort and goal of the afternoon.
07:28And what an effort it was.
07:31Riberyan mean to rue their missed opportunities earlier.
07:46O'Donnell's been caught in possession by Hoylet.
07:50Chance here perhaps for Riberyan to carve out an equaliser, Hoylet!
07:54It's a lovely finish from Junior Hoylet.
07:58And he's notched his first Riberyan goal to quickly pull Riberyan level.
08:04And at last have found a way through that Motherwell defence.
08:09Now he faces a wait to see if the goal will stand,
08:13or was there a foul on Steven O'Donnell?
08:18Goal stands, and Hibs are level.
08:21Composed finish beyond the gloves of the goalkeeper.
08:26And that goal will be hugely frustrating for Stuart Kettlewell,
08:30having just got their noses in front to concede so quickly in such sloppy fashion.
08:37But perhaps an opportunity here to move ahead once more.
08:43Well, there was a pull on the jersey there,
08:45and it's turned behind by Robinson, who's got to hit the target.
08:50Stamatopoulos, just a little tug there from Campbell.
08:55But Robinson, when it comes back to him, has got to do better, surely.
09:01Lines up another long throw in here.
09:07And it comes towards Watt,
09:09there's something on it, helped on by Gordon,
09:12and there's a chance, a goal!
09:14Moses Abiy!
09:17Oh, the flag's up.
09:19Well, that's a big let-off, if indeed it is offside,
09:22because the Hibernian defence was static here.
09:26Abiy's offside there, yeah.
09:29Yeah, it's well off.
09:37McGinnis' ball forward.
09:39Nick Potato's header.
09:42Picked up by Wo, who's dragged to the ground by Triantis.
09:46Is he going to walk here? He is.
09:48It's a second yellow for Nectar Triantis.
09:51A rash challenge.
09:53And Hibs will play out the closing quarter of an hour or so
09:58with just the ten men.
10:06Andy Halliday swings it in near post,
10:09well-headed clear by Caden,
10:11helped back in by Miller.
10:14Nick Potato gets it clear,
10:16Abiy, though, out to pick up.
10:18Wilson.
10:20Swings it in.
10:21Well won by Ohora.
10:25Abiy, though, picks up once more.
10:32And O'Connell smashes that off Miller.
10:35Sore one.
10:38And O'Connell smashes that off Miller.
10:41Sore one.
10:50Kofi Balmer lines up his latest long throw-in.
10:55It's gonna come for Halliday!
10:57Motherwell back in front.
11:01And it's the former Harshman, Andy Halliday,
11:04who's got their second goal.
11:07It's the first goal of the season,
11:09and he just loses Kwon to volley past the goalkeeper.
11:14He's got no chance of stopping that when Halliday's only six yards out.
11:18Further joy for Motherwell.
11:22Easter Road stands emptying.
11:25As their side are about to fall to another defeat.
11:30Confirmation of that as the boos ring out.
11:34It's a wonderful victory for Motherwell, you have to say.
11:37A sixth in their last seven as they move level with third-place Rangers.
11:41But for Hibernian, it's only one win in eight now.
11:44Five of those have been defeats.
11:47It finishes at Easter Road.
11:48Hibernian one, Motherwell two.
11:53Can't dominate as much as we did,
11:55create the chances we have and not win the game.
11:57The longer you don't take your chances,
12:00you then leave yourself open to them creating an opportunity,
12:03and then they take their chance straight away,
12:06which makes it even harder to take.
12:08I think the set-pieces in the second half was clear.
12:13Unprofessional ability, to be honest, to not pick up your men,
12:16not to defend the box properly.
12:18Do your job in terms of the set-up,
12:20but then you need to see it through,
12:21and you need to show that desire to defend your goal,
12:22which I thought we'd done in the first half.
12:23We dealt with them well in the first half,
12:25created numerous chances, should have been in front.
12:27But you can't not take these chances at this level.
12:29We've seen that already.
12:30The season can't have four, five, six chances to go and win a game of football.
12:33And then for that moment, once you lose the goal,
12:36the reaction's good because you get back to 1-1.
12:38And then when you're on a yellow card,
12:40you certainly can't go to ground and give the referee a decision to make.
12:44And it is a yellow card, the second one, you can't do that.
12:46And for that moment, then it would definitely not have cost us the game.
12:48In terms of where you are going into this international break now,
12:51I think we said to you at the start of the season,
12:53you will level on points for Rangers after seven games.
12:56You probably laughed at me at that point.
12:58Yeah, I can, Brian.
12:59I know it's early stages.
13:00It is early stages, but I think all you can do is you can start the season.
13:03So whatever that milestone is, seven games and a cup run or whatever it might be,
13:07we can only play what's in front of us.
13:09We can only play the fixtures that are in front of us.
13:11But I'm so consistent, you know this, that all it is is one more game of football.
13:16We've managed to pick up another three points.
13:18And the big driving force for me is to try and remain consistent
13:20throughout the course of the season.
13:22That doesn't mean you can't enjoy these results
13:24and you can't enjoy being in good form.
13:26But the motivator always has to be that level of consistency,
13:29not just for the football club,
13:31for the individuals to drive that within the dressing room.
13:33And I fair think they're doing that at this minute in time.
13:38In form, Motherwell win again
13:40as the Hibs supporters voiced their disappointment
13:43at the end of the match there, Shelley.
13:46Motherwell scored first.
13:47Stamatolopoulos against the run of play,
13:49but a good goal, really well taken from him.
13:52It was against the run of play.
13:54I thought Hibs started the game really well
13:56and created chances,
13:57but Motherwell have scored more than half their goals
14:00this season from set plays.
14:02So you need to be switched on.
14:04This is just a simple move.
14:06Play down the channel.
14:08Little movement there creates enough space
14:10and it's a wonderful finish.
14:12I mean, people will say about the goalkeeper at near post,
14:14but no goalkeeper saving that.
14:16It's a wonderful finish.
14:17But the point is about the set plays.
14:20If you know you're playing against a team
14:22that are strong at set plays,
14:23you have to pick up.
14:24His movement was great though.
14:26It was brilliant.
14:27You see that a lot with strikers that are playing
14:30and hanging in an offside position
14:32when the free kick's happening.
14:33But the run, to dart across the face of the defender
14:36and then down the side.
14:38The finish is fantastic.
14:39Great bit of play from Stamatolopoulos.
14:41But from Hibs' perspective, it was poor.
14:43It was a rubbish free kick to give away.
14:46I think it was Josh Campbell that's pulling the jersey.
14:48He's the one that's then in that front area
14:51that's ball-watching and not seeing the striker
14:53making that run as well.
14:54As much as it is difficult to track that,
14:56you've got to do better.
14:57And David Grace said during the week
14:59he was fully aware of the set-piece threat,
15:01not just from the throw-ins,
15:03but set-pieces in general.
15:05The point that Shelley's making there,
15:06there are dangers aside from that.
15:08And his players just weren't concentrating
15:10because the second goal was even worse.
15:12Yeah, well, it was Hibs who got the equaliser.
15:15It only took them three minutes to get the equaliser.
15:17Good finish from Hoylet.
15:18I think Sod, hoping it was going to be a film.
15:21That's Stephen O'Donnell to the rest of the country.
15:25Well, the thing is here, obviously,
15:27McGinn stepped into the middle of the park there,
15:29so he's not deeper for him to be able to play
15:32and bounce off him.
15:33And you can see that Hibs are latching on.
15:35Kukarevic is in that gap there as well.
15:38I just think Liam Gordon's got to keep
15:40showing him down the line here.
15:41I think he's a little bit ponderous
15:43around the turn to get inside.
15:45Great finish from Junior Hoylet.
15:47Yeah, Stephen O'Donnell's got to do better.
15:48I didn't think starting position there.
15:50I know that you're in possession,
15:51so you want to be available for the ball.
15:53But your instinct as a defender,
15:54you have to cover the space.
15:56So, you know, when the ball's in that full-back area
15:59or wing-back area, you have to cover
16:01the centre area of the pitch.
16:02And I think he's too far apart.
16:04And then it's a mountain to climb to get back in.
16:06It's a great finish.
16:07Sian, it's, I mean, very obvious,
16:10second yellow, this.
16:11No debate here, but a silly challenge to make
16:14when you're on a booking already, Shelley.
16:16Well, I mean, the first one,
16:19he got booked here for a dive.
16:22I can see why.
16:23I don't think it's a blatant dive.
16:27He's getting challenged by two players.
16:30You can see why he's been booked for it.
16:32But the concerning thing is
16:34you have to be aware
16:36that you're on a yellow card already.
16:38So, at this time of the game,
16:41it's still equally balanced.
16:43And there's absolutely no need
16:46to make that challenge.
16:49I think, first of all,
16:50the defenders could do better,
16:52both of them.
16:53You know, one can go for the header
16:55and one can drop off.
16:56But that said, you know you're on a yellow card,
16:58so why make the challenge?
17:00And, you know, again...
17:02Well, it ends up being costly.
17:05It's been costly, absolutely,
17:06because they had a few chances in the game,
17:09especially before Motherwell scored.
17:11And they'll be furious with that.
17:13So you mentioned the long throws, Mikey.
17:15David Gray had said he was worried about them
17:17and so it proved to be.
17:19Well, he said his players were fully aware of it
17:21and they'd been working on it.
17:22But, you know, whether Kwon was not involved
17:26in those set play drills in training,
17:29I don't know.
17:30But, I mean, regardless of whether you're involved or not,
17:32this is just concentration.
17:34You can see everybody's picked up there.
17:36It's 3 v 3.
17:37But this comes back to something
17:38that Shelly picked up before.
17:40It's just ball watching, no concentrating.
17:42It's literally drifting away from the danger area
17:46and creating a huge gap for Andy Halliday to run into.
17:50I mean, credit to Andy Halliday.
17:51He goes in a taxi space and he gets good connection on it.
17:54But for Hibs to concede a goal like that
17:56is absolute amateur hour.
17:57It's incredible.
17:58And as much as you want to go and blame Triantis
18:00because it was a silly second yellow to pick up,
18:03that is unbelievable defending.
18:07It is literally a schoolboy stuff.
18:09Yeah, Motherwell going very well indeed.
18:11Well, St Mirren's two wins this season have come in paisley.
18:14Could they make it three against a Dundee United side
18:17managed by one of their best players from the 2013 League Cup win?
18:23It's fifth against six in the Premiership,
18:25but both sides have found it tough at times in recent weeks.
18:28Jim Goodwin returns to the club he represented with distinction,
18:31targeting a first win in four for his United side.
18:34The win here against Hearts two weeks ago
18:36is St Mirren's only victory in their last nine games.
18:39Scott Tanzer is suspended and Elvis Buomono drops out,
18:42which means a change of shape as Charles Dunne and Roland Idowu
18:45come in for St Mirren.
18:46Up top, Kevin Van Veen makes his first start
18:49in place of Mikel Mandron.
18:50United make two changes from the draw with Kilmarnock.
18:53There's no Louis Moult in the squad due to a knee issue,
18:55while David Babunski drops to the bench.
18:57In come Vico Seville and York Van der Sande partner Sam Dalby.
19:02United unbeaten away from home in the Premiership this season.
19:06Just the one defeat at home to Rangers,
19:08but it's been a promising beginning back in the top flight.
19:12Now that's a free kick to St Mirren early on.
19:15Kevin Van Veen, who's yet to score since returning to Scotland
19:20after his more than fruitful mother will spell.
19:26Nearly a goal for St Mirren,
19:29nearly opportunity for the home side.
19:33It's curled in, Taylor's there.
19:35Can't gather, danger not gone for United though.
19:38It's Taylor again.
19:41Well, they improvised brilliantly there, the St Mirren defender.
19:47United didn't deal with this, it came at Taylor quickly,
19:50and he recomposed himself, and he's unlucky here.
19:58Phillips flings it into the box.
20:01Dalby's header.
20:04And St Mirren will start again.
20:06Gogic with the cross.
20:08It's flicked on, and it's come off.
20:10Adeboyega in the end.
20:12The United defender.
20:15Alassane was lurking, but it skipped away from him and behind.
20:23Throw comes in.
20:24Graham heads that up.
20:26Walton swats it away.
20:29Curled back in by Boyd Munson-Phillips.
20:33He was racing in round the back.
20:37Difficult to take at pace.
20:41And he couldn't keep his footing.
20:44It's a bit wobbly from United here.
20:48And Phillips just falls at the crucial moment.
20:53And Gogic fills Sam Dalby there.
20:59Cheap foul to give away from the St Mirren defender.
21:05United free kick.
21:07It's deep.
21:08It's Graham's header.
21:09And there's Adeboyega!
21:12And he takes a fresh air swipe at the ball.
21:18And he knows he should have done better.
21:21And he knows he should have done better here.
21:23Emmanuel Adeboyega.
21:25Graham directs it into a dangerous area.
21:27He's got to connect here.
21:29And St Mirren get away with one.
21:35Sybilt.
21:38Ferry steers it into the box.
21:41Phillips away from Sybilt.
21:44It's nice from the Buddies midfielder.
21:46And then O'Hara strokes it forward for Alassane.
21:51And Alassane darts through a gap.
21:55He's up to the edge of the box.
21:57Gets it back from Van Veen.
21:59And he hits the deck to Ussi Alassane.
22:02And the home fans want a penalty kick.
22:07As O'Hara sends that into Walton's palms.
22:11Maldeklin Gallagher not moved here.
22:15And neither was the referee, Ross Hardy.
22:18Alassane with four premiership goals already this season.
22:21It's been a lively start to the campaign.
22:23Neat link up with Van Veen.
22:25And Gallagher just stands his ground really.
22:30Boyd wants his corner.
22:32Up in there from Graham.
22:34Walton's punch.
22:36And then Alassane.
22:38Into the stands.
22:43And all the chances at the moment coming from throw-ins.
22:48And corners.
22:49And free kicks.
22:51It's Scrappy.
22:54United struggle to clear their box again.
22:57Gogic lays it for Alassane.
22:59Can't keep it down.
23:05Phillips into the area.
23:07O'Hara's flick.
23:10Up by Boyd Muntz.
23:13Idowu.
23:15That's nice feet.
23:17He's still got it, Idowu.
23:19And it comes back to Idowu.
23:22And that was close to creeping in.
23:28Jack Walton may have had it covered in the end.
23:32But Idowu brings a bit of life to proceedings.
23:36Does get lucky the way it comes back to him here.
23:39Not a bad effort.
23:42Just wide of the target.
23:51Graham's throw.
23:53It's across.
23:55And then Dalby.
23:57Back to Middleton.
23:59Who swipes it well wide.
24:02A wry smile from Dalby.
24:04I think Stevenson, his teammate, got in the way of his effort.
24:08Again it's a long throw.
24:10So many of them in this first half.
24:13Might be Taylor with the block.
24:16And Middleton.
24:19Just swings a leg at it.
24:21Can't find the target.
24:29Ferry.
24:31Finds Middleton.
24:33Who's got pace.
24:35The first half subbed.
24:37Gets it onto his right foot.
24:39Floats it in.
24:40Stevenson's header.
24:42And it's the United fans turn to cry for a penalty down that end.
24:48Nothing given.
24:50At least for now.
24:56Well the fans buying the goal certainly felt it was.
25:01Richard Taylor disagrees.
25:02He's confident.
25:04And a quick check.
25:06And it's play on.
25:08Middleton.
25:10Standing up his man and putting a decent ball in here.
25:13But Richard Taylor's arm is glued to his sides for a start.
25:17I think it hits him above the shirtline as well.
25:24Still goalless of Paisley.
25:26And that's neat from Taylor.
25:28He's taken it a step too far.
25:30But St Mirren still have it.
25:32Phillips.
25:35Clings to possession.
25:37Now Boyd-Muntz.
25:40Takes for O'Hara.
25:42Another fortunately.
25:44Mark O'Hara.
25:46For Oduwu.
25:48Here's Boyd-Muntz.
25:50With some space to work with.
25:52And Enola Sagna.
25:54Fluffs the follow-up.
25:58And that's the first real test that Jack Walton has had this afternoon.
26:03That's a really good strike from Caelan Boyd-Muntz.
26:06He rattled on in last season from a similar distance against Motherwell.
26:12Didn't get the better of Jack Walton on this occasion though.
26:18O'Hara's high hanging corner.
26:20Phillips header.
26:21Oh, Sagna.
26:24And you get the feeling it's not going to be his afternoon.
26:27As another one fails to find the target.
26:30Much to Steven Robinson's frustration.
26:33Got to try and hit it down there, Ola Sagna.
26:36It does come at him quickly.
26:46Forward for United.
26:48And Dolby stretches those long legs.
26:53Ferry tried to whip it in.
26:55And it's blocked.
26:57And you feel a game like this, one goal would win it.
27:00And it's been so scrappy.
27:03A tough battle.
27:07And Ferry's going to take another set piece for Dundee United.
27:11And it bounces.
27:12And then Docherty hits it.
27:14And there's Adeboyega.
27:19And Emmanuel Adeboyega is United's saviour.
27:24Adeboyega is United's saviour.
27:37Jim Goodwin unmoved.
27:39The fans are jumping for joy though.
27:42And it's apt, in a game of set piece chances really,
27:45that it's ultimately come from a corner.
27:48What about the hit from Docherty?
27:50Balcombe did his best.
27:52And it's Adeboyega who reacts the quickest to nod home.
27:58And it's another promising away day for those United fans buying the goal.
28:03And it's St Mirren-Merrell Dundee United 1.
28:09St Mirren still with time on the clock.
28:14As Gogic comes forward.
28:17Here's Scots.
28:20Well, there was a lot to like about that from James Scott.
28:26Touch and out his feet quickly.
28:28You can see exactly what he's trying to do.
28:30Just bend it in that far corner.
28:33But like so many other St Mirren attempts so far,
28:36it does not find the target.
28:45United just sitting in.
28:50Kilty.
28:52Cross.
28:53Phillips with the touch and turn!
28:57And the shot flies over the bar.
29:02He's been really industrious in the middle of the pitch,
29:04killing Phillips.
29:05He's had several attempts.
29:07And he's only managed to work the goalkeeper once.
29:13And St Mirren's wait for a goal this afternoon goes on.
29:20Six minutes added at the end of the 90.
29:22We've played a couple.
29:24St Mirren peppering the United box.
29:28Fraser.
29:30Smith.
29:31Curling ball!
29:33And Taylor got on the end of it.
29:36And he can't believe it.
29:41That's a good run from the defender.
29:44The delivery is more than decent.
29:47But once again, it's wide.
29:53Last-chance saloon for St Mirren.
29:57Smith with a cross.
29:59United repel once more.
30:04Scott.
30:06Goes from deep.
30:08And Holtz forces it away.
30:11And there's the full-time whistle.
30:14And there's the full-time whistle.
30:16It's a massive three points for Jim Goodwin.
30:19And Dundee United, as he plunders a second victory
30:22against his old club this season.
30:24It's another fine away day for the United fans.
30:28Four unbeaten away from home at the start of this Premiership season.
30:32It's one win in ten for Steven Robinson and St Mirren.
30:36So much for them to think about.
30:38But the Dundee United fans have loved their day in Paisley.
30:42And it's finished. St Mirren 0, Dundee United 1.
30:46Obviously very disappointed with the result.
30:49In the moment, a lot of things aren't going right for us.
30:52There's plenty of good things.
30:54I don't know how many chances we need to score a goal.
30:56The amount of crosses we put in, the amount of half-chances we had.
30:59The disappointing thing is we haven't hit the target often enough.
31:02We should work on tirelessly.
31:03So that's disappointing.
31:04I thought the boys done okay.
31:05I thought they looked decent.
31:06I'm not sure Ellery had a save out with the goal.
31:09And we've been punished again for an error that we didn't react to.
31:13If you do that and you don't take your chances, you lose football matches.
31:16I don't need to guess what game your guys in the sports scene studio will be showing last this weekend.
31:23Because it wasn't easy on the earlier times.
31:26I'm taking nothing away from the players.
31:28We know we can play better than what we did today.
31:31Results are what matters most to everybody.
31:35To me as a manager, to the players and to obviously the supporters.
31:38They'll go back up to Dundee tonight.
31:40Not really caring a great deal about the overall performance.
31:43The fact is we've got a really valuable three points against a really difficult opposition
31:47who finished top six last season.
31:50Well, you guessed correctly.
31:52Good day.
31:53Last game on.
31:54Wasn't a great game.
31:55United came out on top, Shelley.
31:57Adebayega got that all-important goal after an error that has to be said
32:01from Balcombe in the St Mirren goals.
32:03Yeah, absolutely.
32:04But I think St Mirren, they did create a few chances in the game.
32:07That's a wonderful hit from Dougherty.
32:09But I think the goalkeeper will be really, really disappointed.
32:13Really disappointed.
32:16I mean, it's a great strike.
32:17He sees it through the bodies as well.
32:19You see from a set play, I like players on the edge of the box.
32:21I don't think you see enough goals scored from that area.
32:25But it's a great hit.
32:26And I know it's going at a bit of pace, but the goalkeeper should have no problems with that.
32:30He's got to get it to the side or get more on it, Mikey.
32:32Yeah, there's no doubt about it.
32:34I mean, as much as you've got bodies in front of him,
32:37it's cardinal sin to be knocking it back into that area.
32:40Great strike from Ross Dougherty.
32:41Great reactions from Adebayega.
32:43And a brilliant travelling support.
32:45You see behind the stand there, Dungeonated filling the stand.
32:49Great to see.
32:50And for Jim Goodwin, it's onwards and upwards.
32:53Top six at the moment.
32:54They're going well.
32:55And it certainly wasn't a guess because you'd probably text him
32:57to tell him the game was going on last week.
33:00Anyway, Stephen Robinson lamenting St Mirren's finishing.
33:04They did have 16 efforts on goal.
33:06Only three in target today, though.
33:08Yeah, it's all well and good talking about all the attempts on goal.
33:14But when it's wasteful, these shots that you're seeing there,
33:19they're half chances.
33:21They're fair enough for getting strikes from outside the box.
33:24You're not saying that you would expect to score.
33:27But there was a number of other ones that were closer, obviously,
33:31towards the goal that should have been doing better with.
33:34Olasanya, I think this is the one here.
33:36Yeah, I mean, that's a big chance.
33:39That's really a nice one.
33:40It was.
33:41Do you think they've got a really out-and-out goal-scoring type forward?
33:45I suppose Kevin Van Veen.
33:46He started today.
33:47If he could be getting a run of games, he'd be fit.
33:49That is something that you would say has always been the case
33:53for St Mirren with Stephen Robinson,
33:56is that very well organised, difficult to play against.
33:59But they've never had somebody that you would class as,
34:01you know, going and banging 15, 20 goals a season.
34:04They've always had two or three guys that they're trying to find,
34:07you know, something from.
34:09And I think this season's no different.
34:10But unfortunately for them at the moment,
34:12it just feels like they've not built up any momentum yet.
34:15But I mean, look, the season's in its infancy.
34:17They're still sitting, I think, 6th in the league,
34:18so it's not a disaster if a wee touch inconsistent.
34:21Let's look at the table now, shall we?
34:24Three games, three winners.
34:26Motherwell in 4th place on 13 points.
34:29United just behind in 5th place.
34:32And Killies win, lifts them to 9th on 6 points.
34:36Three games tomorrow, guys.
34:38Of course, let's start with early kick-off.
34:40Ross County against Celtic.
34:42How do you see it going, Shelley, that one?
34:44I think Celtic will bounce back after midweek.
34:47Ross County would have been disappointed losing late on
34:50against Hearts for that equaliser.
34:53But I think Celtic will win quite comfortably.
34:55Yeah, I mean, they took a bit of a do in Europe.
34:58But their last domestic game, they were unbelievable.
35:00Yeah, absolutely. No question about it.
35:02I mean, just like Shelley says,
35:03I think when you look at, obviously,
35:05the difficulty that Ross County are going to come up against
35:07in regards to the quality that Celtic have got,
35:10it would be difficult to think of anything else
35:12other than a comfortable Celtic victory.
35:14And obviously the debate will continue to rage on
35:17with regards to Celtic in Europe.
35:19But I think domestically,
35:22they're far and away the top side in the country.
35:25And there are a lot of games in this Champions League
35:27that they're going to be competitive in.
35:29That was the most difficult game.
35:31Disappointing result.
35:32But I don't get any feeling or impression
35:34that they're going to be lingering on it for too long.
35:36Good. I'm glad you took up so much time.
35:38They have no time to talk about anything else.
35:39The game of the day for me...
35:40That was deliberate.
35:42Aberdeen against Hearts.
35:43Can Aberdeen keep that run going?
35:45It's been incredible.
35:46I think this will be their toughest game.
35:48I think they've had a good start to the season.
35:50It's been a good run.
35:52Like the balance in their team,
35:54Hearts need to kick on as well.
35:55So it'll definitely be an interesting one.
35:57It is going to be interesting.
35:58And the late kick-off, Mikey,
36:00I believe you were there at the game.
36:02Rangers need to show a reaction
36:05to their mid-week disappointment.
36:06But also St Johnstone,
36:07obviously now they've got Seamovil carrying in
36:10as new manager.
36:11I don't think he's going to be there tomorrow night.
36:12But they also need to show a reaction
36:14after what happened to them against Celtic.
36:15Yeah, absolutely.
36:16I mean, look, it's a difficult start so far
36:18for St Johnstone and for Rangers.
36:20You know, like we were talking about with St Mirren,
36:22it feels like they're taking one step forward
36:24and then one back.
36:25They're really struggling to get that momentum picked up
36:28and huge opportunity to try to put to bed
36:32what happened during the week against Lyon there.
36:34Yeah, that is indeed.
36:36Okay, let's have a wee look at what's coming up
36:38over the next week or so
36:40for you to enjoy on BBC starting tomorrow.

37:26Goodnight.
37:47.
