00:30Hello and welcome to Sportscene. Half a card but twice the excitement. Three games packed
00:46full of incident to bring you Shelley Kerr and Michael Stewart supplying the analysis
00:51and there's plenty of it. For so long Tony Docherty and Derek McInnes were joined at
00:56a hip but since they were separate ways they have met four times in the league with all
01:00four games ending all square. There really is no coming between them.
01:27Incredible late drama between these sides yet again.
01:37Will these two sides ever be split? Derek and Doc could not be separated last season. Four draws in the league, three of those ending 2-2. Surely we'll get a winner today.
01:50Tony Docherty makes just one change from the side that lost narrowly to Aberdeen last week.
01:55Sammy Braybrooke is dropped to the bench with striker Curtis Main coming back into the starting line-up.
02:02Derek McInnes makes four changes with goalkeeper Robbie McCrory coming back for his first start in seven games.
02:07Robbie Dees comes into defence with last week's hero David Watson straight into the starting eleven.
02:12Liam Donnelly also comes in.
02:15Cameron trying that ball out to Simon Murray who just about keeps it in.
02:22That could drop nicely for Larkesh, drills it!
02:26Just wide.
02:29It was on his weaker right foot.
02:32That was about as close as either side have come.
02:35The wing back getting forward, troubling Robbie McCrory.
02:40Robbie Dees trying to find Matty Kennedy but that's poor.
02:44Dundee will have a chance to get up the pitch.
02:46Lyle Cameron, plenty of space, not close down.
02:49Finds Larkesh, drills it again!
02:55And this time Ziyad Larkesh finds the bottom corner.
03:02All set up by the number 10, Lyle Cameron.
03:06All set up by the number 10, Lyle Cameron.
03:11And that was far too easy for Tony Dougherty and Dundee.
03:17Just picking the ball up in the midfield and allowed so much space to drive at that back line.
03:23And it's a brilliant finish from Larkesh.
03:26The left back lasering it into the bottom corner.
03:31Superb stuff, scored a few weeks ago against St Mirren.
03:34That was a second goal in dark blue.
03:41Michael Marnik still recovering from losing those late goals to Dundee United.
03:46As Mosilla clatters.
03:49Kyle Vassell, play goes on.
03:52Matty Kennedy up against Ethan Ingram.
03:55Works it to the left foot, Watson flicks on!
03:58John McCracken behind it all the way.
04:02Routine stuff for the Dundee keeper.
04:08We'll just come back for that challenge on Kyle Vassell.
04:11It was a heavy one from Mosilla.
04:14Thankfully back in the team after his health scare.
04:17But he's in to Grant Irvine's book.
04:28Ingram.
04:30Flicks on and it's just a bit of head tennis in the midfield.
04:34As we come towards halftime, Matty Kennedy goes down.
04:37And Grant Irvine is straight to his pocket.
04:41And I think Mosilla is going to be sent off here.
04:45Yep, there's the red card.
04:48When Mosilla looks up from the turf.
04:52He's going to get his marching orders from Dundee United.
04:56He's going to get his marching orders from Grant Irvine.
05:00And he can't believe it, he's asking for VAR but he won't get it.
05:04Not for a second yellow.
05:07David Watson's trying to tell him what's happened.
05:11It's an elbow on Matty Kennedy that Mosilla has been pinged for.
05:17Well is that a little harsh?
05:19I'll let you decide.
05:22Certainly he catches Matty Kennedy.
05:26As they battle for that ball.
05:31And you can see the bloodied face of Matty Kennedy.
05:34As Mosilla trudges off, Dundee down to ten.
05:41Komarnik looking to make that man advantage count straight away.
05:44But the corner is cleared.
05:47Watson out to his captain, Vassell.
05:51Cross back in, Watkins with the header.
05:54Always going wide, John McCracken.
05:56Untroubled in the Dundee goal.
06:02And there goes the halftime whistle.
06:04You can hear it at the booze for referee Grant Irvine and Tony Daugherty.
06:09Looking for an explanation for that red card.
06:17Marquesh rushing forward, away from Mayo.
06:20Trying to get away from Donnelly, goes down.
06:23Grant Irvine not interested.
06:28I think it's just good defending in the end from Liam Donnelly.
06:31Gets his hip in, wins the ball back fairly.
06:37And Dabba.
06:40Matty Kennedy.
06:43Giving Ingram a hard time all afternoon.
06:45Gets the ball in.
06:46It's bouncing around dangerously.
06:48And Lyle Cameron is able to hack it clear.
06:52Marley Watkins in there again.
06:54As Komarnik searches desperately for an equaliser.
06:58Remember they've still not won a game so far this season.
07:02They've got a lot of work to do to overturn this scoreline.
07:07Almost bounced off Watkins and in there.
07:11Armstrong chips in.
07:14Dealt with by Clark Robertson.
07:17Mayo holding off Murray and winning the ball back for Komarnik.
07:21Another wave of attack for the visitors.
07:24Bounces into Vassell.
07:26Cometeo with the block.
07:29And that could have just saved a goal.
07:33The ball bounced awkwardly through to Kyle Vassell.
07:37Without Cometeo's intervention that might have been goal-bound.
07:41Komarnik inching closer to a leveller.
07:48Derek McInnes not happy with what he's seen so far.
07:51As Dundee are in behind again.
07:53Adewoeme's gone down.
07:56Play goes on.
07:58I don't know how strong the contact was from Robbie McCrory there.
08:03Is this a penalty?
08:06There is a lot of pressure.
08:09There is a lot of contact from Jack Burrows on his shirt.
08:12Nothing given.
08:15Corner clipped in.
08:17Could drop to Lyons at the back post.
08:19Palmer holding in there.
08:21Comes back to Bruce Anderson.
08:22Hits on the volley off the post.
08:26Well it just has not been Komarnik's day so far.
08:31They're getting closer and closer.
08:34But they're still not able to find a way to goal.
08:37Bruce Anderson inches away.
08:44Palmer holding up against Ndaba.
08:46Flicks on.
08:47Adewoeme in behind.
08:48Oh, what a goal!
08:52All of a sudden Adewoeme
08:55has surely given Dundee all three points.
09:01They've played with a man less this entire second half.
09:08But a simple long ball
09:10has unlocked the Komarnik defence.
09:13And how about that for a finish?
09:17He's wrestling Jack Burrows.
09:19He shows brilliant strength.
09:22And brilliant audacity as well to then chip the keeper.
09:28Perhaps a finish worthy of all three points
09:32for the man on loan from Burnley.
09:38Cameron trying to hold off the challenge of Anderson
09:41but Komarnik have won it back.
09:44Matty Kennedy.
09:45Can he find a man in the middle?
09:46Picks out Vassell.
09:47It's blocked.
09:48Comes to Watkins.
09:49The ball's in the back of the net.
09:52But he knew as soon as that ball left his boot
09:56that the flag would go up.
09:59And a let off for Dundee.
10:02Marley Watkins always offside here.
10:04As the ball comes off Clark Robertson.
10:11McKenzie whips the cross in.
10:13Almost drops to Anderson.
10:16Kennedy picks up.
10:18Shuffles on to the left.
10:19Drills it.
10:20McCracken makes an error.
10:23Well I thought he'd made the save.
10:26But the ball just squirms under John McCracken
10:30and trickles painfully into the net.
10:35Is that a lifeline for Komarnik?
10:39Kennedy taking the ball onto his weaker foot.
10:42John McCracken really should do better.
10:45He's just been called up to the Scotland squad again.
10:48But he won't want to see that one back.
10:52Lyons.
10:55Wide to Gary McKay-Steven.
10:57Former Dundee United man.
10:59Clips to the back post.
11:00Anderson's there!
11:03Two goals in two minutes.
11:07Komarnik are level.
11:11And Derek McInnes still isn't happy.
11:15Bruce Anderson wants one more.
11:19Well Komarnik have toiled for 80 minutes in this game.
11:25But in the space of two, they're back level.
11:28They've saved a point in Dundee.
11:31Surely they can't go on and get more.
11:34It's brilliant from Gary McKay-Steven.
11:37A good header at the back post from Bruce Anderson.
11:39The subs combine.
11:43McKay-Steven gets the ball inside to Bobby Wales.
11:47Another of the Komarnik substitutes
11:49who've had such an impact on this game.
11:52Can it fall at the front post?
11:53Headed.
11:54Burrows doesn't quite follow up.
11:56But the clearance from Cameron is not the best.
11:59Brilliant turn from Bobby Wales.
12:01He gets to the byline.
12:02Can he pick out a Komarnik man?
12:05Yes he can!
12:07It's Matty Kennedy!
12:11They've done it!
12:13They've somehow done it!
12:16Komarnik turn this game on its head.
12:19Well, last week they were the victims
12:21of Dundee United's late goal.
12:25This time, it's Killihoo Profit.
12:30They have not given up here in Dundee.
12:36And in the space of 10 minutes,
12:38they've pulled off a remarkable comeback.
12:42Brilliant.
12:43Well, there goes the full-time whistle.
12:45A first win of the season for Komarnik.
12:48A crazy comeback,
12:50when all hope seemed dead and buried
12:52just 10 minutes ago.
12:55A heroic heist.
12:57To save the game,
12:59to save the game,
13:00to save the game,
13:01to save the game,
13:02to save the game,
13:03to save the game,
13:04to save the game,
13:05to save the game,
13:06to save the game,
13:07to save the game,
13:08to save the game,
13:09to save the game,
13:10to save the game,
13:11to save the game,
13:12to save the game,
13:13to save the game,
13:14to save the game.
13:15A heist to steal all three points.
13:18It finishes at Dens Park.
13:20Dundee 2, Komarnik 3.
13:25In my opinion, it's the second time for this referee
13:27making a mistake that changes the course of the game.
13:30You know, I thought we were so comfortable in the game.
13:33You took it justified,
13:34you got a 1-0 lead, I thought.
13:36If anything, Komarnik gave us problems, issues,
13:39if you say, from free kicks that we gave away.
13:41And then Mosilla makes a challenge.
13:43He doesn't even know Mattie Kennedy's behind him.
13:45He raises his arm, as you do to go and win a ball,
13:47and he catches Mattie Kennedy.
13:49So I've watched it back.
13:50The referee's line of vision towards it
13:53is impaired by Lyle Cameron anyway.
13:55So I don't think he sees it,
13:56but he reacts to the player falling on the floor
13:58and he gives a sending off.
13:59And for me,
14:00and I've watched it back loads of times,
14:01it's never a sending off.
14:02Yeah, listen, we expected a tough game
14:04coming to Dundee.
14:06We obviously seen the importance
14:08that was well documented before the game
14:10for both teams to try and get that win.
14:12But a great moment for Mattie,
14:13scoring the winning goal.
14:15And on the second half display,
14:18no more than my players deserved
14:19because they kept at it.
14:20And it's a typical performance from us at the minute.
14:23We were having to do so much to win a game.
14:27Delighted to win the game,
14:28but we've still got things we need to be better at.
14:31And losing two goals
14:32and having to score three goals
14:33and coming from behind every week
14:34isn't going to be the answer.
14:36So it wasn't perfect,
14:37but it's a perfect ending.
14:39It certainly was the perfect ending
14:40as Killie get their first three points of the season.
14:43But it was Dundee who took the lead.
14:45Mikey through Larkesh on 24 minutes.
14:48He had a good game.
14:49And I think it's safe to say
14:51Dundee were impressive today.
14:53Yeah, I mean, as much as obviously
14:55it's a bitter pill to swallow
14:57when they've lost the game,
14:58they were good.
15:00Obviously highlighting here
15:01the simple mistake that Killie are making
15:04to allow Dundee the opportunity
15:06to be able to counter on them here.
15:07Lovely little reverse pass there from Lyle Cameron.
15:10And it's a good finish from Larkesh.
15:12And you're right.
15:13He was good today.
15:14He is a good player.
15:15He's settled into...
15:16He likes getting a shot off,
15:17isn't he?
15:18He's a threat down that left-hand side.
15:19He certainly is.
15:20But I just wonder here
15:21whether Lewis Mayall really needed
15:22to be tucking in like that.
15:23You know, when you're the right side there,
15:25you're stepping in
15:26and leaving such a big gap
15:27for Larkesh to be able to get in behind.
15:30And this one's just another terrible goal
15:33to lose from a defensive perspective.
15:37It's a really neat, composed finish here
15:39just to lob it over.
15:40It's a great finish,
15:41but Derek will be furious.
15:42You know, it's a straight ball up the pitch,
15:43Shelly, isn't it?
15:44That should be dealt with
15:45on the first occasion
15:46and then not dealt with
15:47when it's flicked on.
15:48I think both defenders
15:50are marking actually too close.
15:52You know, you talk about being touch-tight
15:54when you're so close.
15:55You can't move anywhere.
15:57You'll be furious
15:58because it's just one ball
16:00that the defenders should deal with.
16:02And I have to say,
16:03I thought Colmannock struggled a wee bit
16:05at the start of the game.
16:07They were struggling
16:08to get out their own half
16:09and Dundee pressed them very well.
16:11That's how they got the first goal.
16:13Yeah, Dundee were impressive.
16:14Right, we need to get
16:15to the Silas sending off.
16:17A couple of incidents to show before it,
16:18including the yellow card.
16:20But I think we're all in agreement
16:21that we agree with Tony Docherty.
16:24Yeah, I mean,
16:25it's a ludicrous sending off.
16:27Obviously, we highlighted this one
16:28because this was the only other foul
16:30that he'd committed in the game.
16:32Obviously, just prior
16:33to his first yellow card.
16:34This is a foul.
16:35And, you know, for me,
16:36it's one of those ones
16:37that's borderline.
16:38You know, I think he could have
16:39perhaps got away with it,
16:40but I don't think you can have
16:41too many complaints
16:42with the yellow card being brandished.
16:43But there was three minutes
16:45between that incident
16:46and him actually getting the yellow card
16:48because the referee played on.
16:50At which time you think to yourself,
16:51maybe the ref would have just
16:52allowed the game to continue
16:54without needing to brandish
16:55the yellow card.
16:56Whereas this one is just,
16:58it's a nonsense.
16:59And I think Tony Docherty
17:01is understandably furious
17:02because, you know,
17:03a sending off is such a huge,
17:05huge impact in the game.
17:07There is nothing in there
17:08that you could suggest
17:09is deserving of a yellow card.
17:11Yes, Mattie Kennedy's been caught.
17:13That happens in football sometimes.
17:15It's not the responsibility
17:16of Mo Silla there.
17:17Or, you know,
17:18you can't hold him liable.
17:19He doesn't even know
17:20that he's behind him, you know.
17:21No, and there's the coming together.
17:22Mattie Kennedy collides
17:23into Mo Silla.
17:24It's unfortunate.
17:25Thankfully, Mattie Kennedy
17:26was all right.
17:27It's never a yellow card.
17:28What's your take on it, Sheldon?
17:30I think it's quite straightforward.
17:32The first booking,
17:33I think Mo Silla has a fill before that.
17:35So I think that's how he got booked
17:37for the first one.
17:38I think so.
17:39But the second one,
17:40as Michael said,
17:42he's been nudged.
17:43So when you get nudged,
17:45momentum carries you forward.
17:47The first thing you'll do
17:48is lift your arm up.
17:49So I would be furious as well.
17:52And it changed the game.
17:54It definitely changed the game.
17:55No, but that's something else,
17:57you know.
17:58When VAR got introduced
17:59midway through the season before,
18:01it was something that I thought,
18:03you know, it's an imperfect system,
18:05OK?
18:06But I think with the technology
18:07that's there,
18:08it should be utilised
18:09for second yellow cards,
18:11obviously leading to ascending off.
18:13I think the VAR officials
18:14should have the ability
18:15to be able to look at it
18:16to determine whether
18:17it's the right call or not.
18:18Oh, if it's something so important
18:19like that, ascending off.
18:20Of course.
18:21But they come back, Shelly.
18:23It was absolutely incredible.
18:24I think 2-0 down, 86 minutes.
18:27You're all kind of sitting
18:28and going, right,
18:29you know, another bad day
18:30at the office for Kelly.
18:31A great result for Dundee.
18:32And then you have to give
18:33so much credit to Kelly
18:34for Derek MacInnes' substitutions
18:36and the character they showed.
18:38It was 86 minutes
18:39and it's three goals.
18:40And, you know, even in commentary
18:42you're thinking the game's done,
18:43but it just shows it's never done.
18:45I do think a lot of credit
18:47to Derek for the substitutions
18:49that he made,
18:50especially Mackay-Stevens.
18:52He was involved, I think,
18:53in all three goals.
18:54But they utilised the wide areas.
18:56You can see the space in there.
18:57They've allowed them to go 1v1.
18:59And that type of ball
19:01going across the face.
19:02And, you know, Bruce Anderson there.
19:04He scores goals.
19:05I know he's not started a lot,
19:07but look at the space there
19:08for Mackay-Stevens.
19:10And he's fresh on the pitch.
19:12Great little dink up.
19:14I mean, it's poor defending,
19:16but 1v1 situation there.
19:18And Bruce Anderson does
19:19really, really well
19:20to get in the back area.
19:22This one here, it's obviously
19:24Dunty are desperately defending.
19:26That touch is absolutely...
19:28So is the way he takes past
19:29the defender.
19:30Out of this world.
19:31I mean, the touch is incredible.
19:32It makes the goal for me.
19:34He creates space for himself
19:36by having such a brilliant touch.
19:38And again, it's another substitution
19:39that's come on the pitch.
19:40So they've been very impactful.
19:42Again, though,
19:43it's really slack at the back post.
19:44I mean, defensively,
19:46Ingram got pulled off
19:47after the second goal
19:48and he got released by Astley.
19:50And he comes bombing out
19:51of his position there.
19:52And Kennedy's able to score.
19:53But I mean, look,
19:54without focusing too much
19:55on the defensive side of things,
19:56because there was poor goals
19:57right throughout there.
19:58As Shelly's talking about there,
19:59the substitutions that were made.
20:01Mackay Stephen came on,
20:03made a difference.
20:04Bobby Wills obviously
20:05made a difference there.
20:06And Bruce Anderson scored
20:07one of the goals.
20:08So, massive impact.
20:09And we should have known.
20:10The four games last season
20:11all finished in a draw.
20:12And three of them
20:14were injury time goals
20:15that obviously impacted
20:16the result.
20:17And none more so than today.
20:18It's just a follow up of that.
20:20And it's not just a draw
20:21that they've been able to get.
20:22They've been able to get
20:23three goals inside,
20:24what was it?
20:25Five, six minutes.
20:26Quite incredible.
20:27Are Kelly going to kick on now,
20:28do you think, Shelly?
20:29They've got this first win
20:30under their belt.
20:31I like Derek's interview
20:32in terms of his assessment
20:33of the game.
20:34He said you can't afford
20:35to go into games
20:36and be 2-0 down
20:37before you start playing.
20:38Obviously, the sending off
