00:30Good evening and welcome to Sports Scene. We have two new managers atop of the table
00:44clash and plenty of goals to bring you tonight in the company of a couple of league winners,
00:49Barry Robson and Neil McCann. We begin at Celtic Park, Aberdeen a side transformed this
00:55season under Jimmy Tolleen that has fans starting to dream. Both sides went into this
01:25season.
01:26I'm going to give it everything I've got. Lady luck please let the dice stay hot. Let
01:27me shoot a seven with every shot I see. Viva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas!
01:28Viva Las Vegas!
01:56The two dominant sides of Scottish football this season so far come head-to-head at a
02:01highly anticipated encounter in front of a full house. How dominant are they? Well, their
02:0714 combined league wins is the same number of league wins achieved thus far by the teams
02:12in fourth through twelfth. Celtic came from behind against Ross County to ensure maximum
02:18point payout so far. One change to that starting eleven. Kiyoko has got five goals in ten against
02:25the Dons is in. Adam Ida drops to the bench. Aberdeen saw off Hearts and a five goal thriller
02:31at Pittordrie. They lead the Tyne Castle side by 19 points coming into today. Jimmy Thien
02:36sees no need to gamble with his starting eleven. He's all in on the side that defeated Hearts.
02:46Celtic building slowly. Hattati. The idea was right. Oh, the goalkeeper stumbled. Miethoff's
02:53in trouble here. That should have been routine. The angle ball across off the bar. Well, it
03:01should have been simple and Ingles almost made Aberdeen pay. That was a terrific run.
03:08Ingles realised and then decided to put pressure on the goalkeeper who was in trouble. Miethoff
03:15then scrambled back. That's an audacious attempt. What a goal that would have been.
03:21Nielsen directing traffic. Plays a run to Clarkson. Got it just caught in his feet momentarily
03:27but Keskanen is in there. Little rebound. This bit was quick. He was quicker than Johnson
03:34that time. Here's McKenzie. Plays it in. Solid with a header away and Koon. Nielsen round
03:42the corner. That would be well read. Koon. Ingles. The Keogh expresses away. Keogh into
03:53the middle. It's a great ball! It's a great finish for Real Hattati. Unwanted by his country
04:04midweek. Cherished by the Celtic fans today. Just too tight from an Aberdeen perspective.
04:13And Ingles played it. Keogh goes so quick. Goalkeeper scrambled back. But he got the
04:19head up. First time finish for Real Hattati. Absolutely crisp in his finish. And he celebrates
04:30his 99th Celtic appearance with his 19th Celtic goal. And in a battle of the top two, Celtic
04:38are ahead. A little note for halftime but Brendan Rodgers will be absolutely delighted
04:48so far. He's only ever lost once against the Dons. It's the first game of the season in
04:56the league that Aberdeen have conceded the first goal. Here's McKenzie. Malloy to Mitoff.
05:04McGregor. It's a great ball. Maida has been played back to Hattati. It's played and Keogh
05:18will make it two. Aberdeen all over the place. And Celtic make them pay. McGregor played
05:31it out wide. And it came. Malloy presented it to Hattati. Made the block. And Keogh with
05:38a finish. Maida with a ball across. But the error was there. And Keogh, 6-11 against Aberdeen.
05:46Simply does not miss from there. Opportunity. This is going to be played on to Clarkson
06:00on his birthday. He cannot convert the gift that came his way. Valley getting himself
06:08back. But this was the chance the Dons had been hoping for. Slid across by Johnson. It's
06:16just too tame. In behind Schmeichel. Aberdeen trying to find a way through it. Sockler is
06:31in behind Scales. This for 2-1. It's a sensational goal for Aberdeen. And Esther Sockler pops
06:39it in the back of the net. Well, he scored on the Scottish Cup tie back in April. This
06:45goal could be more important. Timed his run to perfection. In behind Scales. The ball
06:52through was a work of art. And he kept his nerve to ping it past Schmeichel. And Aberdeen
07:00are back in this one. Maguire with a magic little pass. And Sockler, calmly, finished
07:09it. Well, there's a VAR check by Greg Aitken. But it's fine. Looked fine. It's away from
07:28Trustee. Tries to get things moving quickly. And there's a mistake here. Why he's gone
07:34down. Kisconen trying to make it 2-2. Goes in. Great block, Liam Scales. Big moment in
07:41the game. Kisconen drove in. He's scored in his last two Scottish Premiership matches.
07:47But denied by Scales. By eight. It's been given away by Miner. Here come the dons on
08:01the break. Sockler. Scored once. Tries to set up. Kisconen. Pulled back. Shinnie with
08:06a chance. Deflected. And Aberdeen have come from two down to make it two apiece at Salt
08:12Ick Park. And it's the skipper, Graeme Shinnie, with the aid of an outrageous deflection.
08:18Well, if Aberdeen wanted to show their credentials, they had to come out in the second half and
08:25show what they were made of. And boy, have they done that. Miner's pass was loose. He
08:30was furious with himself. Maguire on to Sockler. Kisconen played it in. Maguire got the toe
08:35in. But deflected off of Trusty. Schmeichel beaten. He had no chance. And Aberdeen were
08:43dead and buried. And they've risen again. Two apiece at Salt Ick Park. What a contest.
08:53He looks exactly the same as he did when they were two-nil down. Doesn't give much away
08:57this week. It's not often you see Brendan Rodgers seeded. Shinnie there to John Kennedy.
09:05Oh, Jamie McGrath can deliver. Whips that one in. There's the deflection. It's in! Duke
09:16got the touch. And somehow Aberdeen have come from two down to lead 3-2 at Salt Ick Park.
09:24They've been behind against Deirdre. They've been behind against Hartz. They've won both.
09:29Can they do it against Celtic? Ball played in. Rubicic off Duke. It dropped off Duke.
09:39He'll take the credit. VAR checking for possible handball. He appeared to go in off Duke's
09:46arm. And that's the decision. Well, Duke was trying to make out that it was his shoulder.
09:54And it was lower down than that. And it remains two apiece.
09:59Gow has made a good run. In from Coon. Up against McGrath. Drags it in. They're lining
10:09up here. Forrest! Great save from Mitov. Strong in the body. Ten additional minutes. Celtic
10:22come again. Coon. Away by Malloy. Picked up by Johnson. Little cross ball. Forrest is
10:33waiting. Trying to find his spots. So near. So far. Well, James Forrest, who often has
10:42come up trumps, got himself in a good position. And the bodies were there. Devlin made it
10:46hard. That's how we all feel. Coon drives at Morris. Morris not fooled by that. He's
10:57trying to shepherd it out of play. Lands on the line. Morris tries to get it back. Coon.
11:03Terrific play. McGrath hits it against him. I think there's a foul on the goalkeeper.
11:08It's not going to count. Well, Alistair Johnson was up there. Scored last time out against
11:14Ross County. But the referee immediately decided this wasn't going to count. Final
11:25few minutes of additional time. Coon round the corner. Johnson plays it in! Almost. Bernardo.
11:35Right. Danger's not gone yet. Forrest again. He's tried that a couple of times. And that
11:41one rises. As he continues to seek his first goal of the season. Well, the pressure ramped
11:48up. Malloy. Almost putting it past his own goalkeeper. Forrest on the inside. Again!
12:02Rubicich. For the first time today, gets the crucial header. Scales. McGregor. McCowan
12:11goes down! Now, where did he go down? Inside and outside. He certainly fell inside. I thought
12:20the contact was just outside. Ball came across. Now, where does he get touched? Outside. Good
12:28call. Nick Walsh. Wow. Bernardo. With the touch. It's going to go up. It's going to
12:41go over. And it is a corner. Played in. Goalkeeper stays on his line and makes a stunning save.
12:50Mitov keeps it at 2-2. Forrest plays it across. Chance off the line by Duke. Johnson thought
12:56he'd won it. Duke thinks he has. What a sensational piece of play. Well, the referee will check
13:06it. Forrest played it in. Came across. And Duke, well, looked like he got his body in
13:12there. What an ending. It's all over. Duke's intervention to clear from Johnson was a legal
13:25manoeuvre. And it finishes at Celtic Park with neither of these two teams claiming the
13:32victory they sought. The drama at the end was worthy of Hollywood. Wonderful entertainment.
13:39Scottish Premiership at its finest. It's finished Celtic 2, Aberdeen 2. We're disappointed.
13:47Really good control of the game in the first half. Could have had more goals. And then
13:52they get punished for a really careless period. But once they get the first goal, then it
13:56gives them a bit of belief. And then we just couldn't quite find the killer instinct in
14:02that last 15 minutes or so. But yeah, they're there. It's still very early, but they've
14:08did well today.
14:09This game is important to play. It's a difficult game. And they're going to test us in every
14:14area of our game. So we're going to learn from this game also and improve things. I'm
14:19happy with that. I know sometimes in the last part of the game, you need some luck
14:22also. They had some really good opportunities, but it was good effort. We make some good
14:26big saves, but also you need this extra luck sometimes when it's difficult away.
14:31But overall, when you don't win a game, especially at Celtic Park, then it'll always feel like
14:38a defeat.
14:41An incredible game at Celtic Park. Aberdeen look done at half-time. But what an outstanding
14:47comeback it was, Barry.
14:49Oh yeah, I think totally. A game of two halves. It was a brilliant game to watch. I think
14:54Celtic, as Brendan said, had total control in the game. First half, probably should have
14:58scored a few more goals, but then Aberdeen were outstanding in the second half and could
15:02have went and scored some more goals themselves. So, a terrific game for Scottish football
15:05to see. I really enjoyed it.
15:07It was brilliant. Hattati and Kiyoko getting Celtic cruising, you would have to say, at
15:11that point at half-time, you're thinking, right, there really is no way back for Aberdeen.
15:15It's funny because Jimmy Tallinn is spot-on when he says about this Celtic side really
15:19test you. Mentally, they test where you're making good decisions. Nielsen and Shinnie
15:25are both holding players for Aberdeen and they've been very, very good at it. But there's
15:29a separation. You can watch Shinnie at the top there, he's with Hattati. Nielsen's in
15:33a good position here. Once he plays this pass, he's got to hold. But once he then decides
15:38I'm making a decision to step in, it affects Shinnie. Shinnie leaves Hattati, comes wide,
15:43ball slid in the channel. He's out of shot here, but Hattati hasn't stopped moving. That's
15:48from the edge of his own box and it's a beautiful little finish on his left foot. Nielsen's
15:51trying in vain to get back to cover Shinnie, who's separated from him and going the opposite
15:55direction. But it was really clinical. But I have to be complimentary to Jimmy Tallinn,
16:00as Barry will get on to in a wee second, how brave he is. He's continually trying to ask
16:04his Aberdeen team to play through, but Celtic are so well set up. They're there ready to
16:10They work their way out of this Aberdeen because they're brave and they don't want to just
16:13hook it up the pitch. But I think they should have burst the press by going long. They try
16:17to do it here under a bit of pressure. And it doesn't look dangerous at this point in
16:21time because it's halfway line. But watch Rubicic. He's been separated because they're
16:25under a wee bit of pressure all of a sudden because of Celtic's press. He should stay
16:29in the slot. He decides to squeeze out. It asks questions mentally of him. He's separated
16:33from the group. He's left the channel. And I have to say, you can strip all this back
16:38tactically, Tommo, but Malloy's mistake is...
16:41What is it you think he's trying to do there?
16:44I don't know.
16:45Do you think he's going to get more on it and just clear out the box?
16:47Yeah, probably. And he's maybe just on the back foot, so he's lost all the power. But
16:50he should just empty it. Just take it out where it's just come from. Put it out for
16:54a throw in. But they just constantly press. And they were excellent in the first half,
16:57Celtic, I thought.
16:58They were. And Aberdeen were excellent in the second half. What did Jimmy Tallinn change
17:02at halftime, Barry?
17:03Well, they made a couple of substitutions, obviously. They took Duke on and they moved
17:07Jamie McGrath in the middle of the pitch. They put Esther Sockler on, who is brilliant
17:11on transition. Tactically, he gets it. And they made a great start here as well. But
17:15what a pass that is for Jamie McGrath.
17:17Unbelievable.
17:18And Esther Sockler's brilliant at that. That's what he's brilliant at. Getting in behind,
17:22playing on the edge, playing on the line, making runs in behind, penetrating runs. And
17:26if you get him on the team more regularly, he'll do that for you. Now, we've pointed
17:30this out. Aberdeen on transition. You need to be good on transition away at Celtic Park.
17:34And they did this really well. Speed on the team, Kerskinen who can run. They did it quick.
17:39Celtic are not set. Poor defending from Celtic, don't get me wrong. And Duke and Shinnies
17:45away. That's the speed on transition that they tried to get there. I think he could
17:50try and square it there, but it ends up fizzling out. He makes a wrong decision. But you'll
17:54see it again here. Aberdeen again. Looking forward. Speed on transition. Here they go
18:01again. And Celtic didn't cope well with this in the second half when Duke came on and Esther
18:06came on. And the speed and the power going in there really troubled them. And obviously
18:12Shady Morris comes on as well. So Celtic weren't dealing that well with it, but Aberdeen were
18:17causing problems when they did it.
18:19And I know this is a mistake for the goal, but you can see the speed Aberdeen. They just
18:23want to go and attack the goal and they want to attack it quickly. And that's why Celtic
18:26couldn't handle today, especially in the second half. Don't get me wrong, Celtic had a lot
18:29of chances in the game. They could have scored more goals. We know that. But Aberdeen kept
18:33at it in the second half, bringing that energy. And it's a good finish from Shady. He gets
18:37his bit of luck.
18:38He deserved that wee bit of luck in the second half. It was such a brave performance, wasn't
18:43it?
18:44Yeah, I mean, they tried to press. They tried to get after them in the second half. Two positive
18:47substitutions because everybody's probably thinking, well, we're 2-0 down. Celtic could
18:52have scored a few more, but I thought they were really good second half Aberdeen. Aberdeen
18:58could have scored a couple more goals.
18:59Well, let's look at one of those chances just now. They had the ball in the net, but then
19:02VAR intervened correctly.
19:04Correctly, yes. That's what it's there for. I mean, if it comes off the attacker, the
19:10goal scorer's arm and it leads directly to the goal, then it's not going to be given.
19:13You can see Alistair Johnson immediately. I mean, it's great vision from him because
19:17he's almost got his back to it, but he's maybe just got a feeling or a little corner
19:20eye vantage point to see it comes off the elbow or lower arm of Duke. But again, it's
19:28shown that Aberdeen are so aggressive in trying to get what would have been a massive result
19:34had that stood.
19:35I mean, I think getting a draw at Parkhead is a massive result given what Celtic have
19:41done to other teams this season in the league.
19:43I think you would go a far distance to find one person at 2-0 at half-time to say Aberdeen
19:48would get anything from them.
19:49Well, I wasn't one of them.
19:50I think everybody would have probably thought, we knew it was going to happen, they were
19:52going to come to Celtic Park and that's the end of their charges, but they were fantastic.
19:56Goals change games. As soon as they got that goal, the belief you see in them, they felt
20:00it. They've got good attacking players with speed, power, so I thought they were really
20:05good.
20:06Great management.
20:07It was. Impressive.
20:08And encourage his team to, as Barry pointed out there, in the transitions that he's speaking
20:13about, to actually go with risk. Because when you go with risk and you load four or five
20:18players to go and try and get a goal, you know how good Celtic are on the counter-attack.
20:23They counter a counter-attack so well. And I felt Celtic maybe were a wee bit spooked
20:27in the second half because I don't think they're used to teams coming at them in those numbers.
20:31And you saw there in Shinnie's goal, Shinnie and Nielsen both holding midfielders as I
20:35was pointing out in the Hitati goal. They're going to get themselves back into the game.
20:39So it was a super game for Scottish football.
20:41You'll never control it as a team like Aberdeen with that going. You'll never go and get 60%
20:45possession at Park. It's not going to happen. But how aggressive are you in the transition?
20:48Can you pick the right moments and expose them? And Aberdeen did it perfect today.
20:52You knew Celtic were going to push as the game went on into the last 10 minutes of added
20:56on time. And they had a couple of big chances, but I tell you what, Aberdeen defended heroically,
21:00didn't they?
21:01Brilliant.
21:31It's exceptional because Alistair Johnson has flushed that. I have to say, the Aberdeen
21:38performance in the last five, six minutes is everybody knows Celtic are going to go
21:42on a complete win streak.
21:43That's the other side of the game, isn't it, really?
21:45They were, to a man, outstanding, brave, totally committed.
21:50Celtic away to Atalanta, Champions League midweek. We know what happened in the last
21:55Champions League game. Will they approach this game differently, Barry, midweek against
22:00Atalanta?
22:02I think what they will be, they'll be better prepared. I think Brendan said before the
22:05game, obviously, they had a lot of their players away. They were away, obviously, in international,
22:09but so did Aberdeen. And I think you'll get a bit more structured training time with them.
22:14But also, you'll need to look back at the last game that they took part in. Obviously,
22:18they were a bit open at times. So maybe Brendan will tighten up a bit, but it's the whole
22:23new level for Celtic going to play in the Champions League. So it'll be a difficult
22:27game for them, but I think they'll do all right.
22:29OK. To start our race now, we're done. The United faced Hibernian, and Jim Goodwin's
22:34team could go 10 points clear of David Gray's with a win this afternoon.
22:41United have only lost once so far this season.
22:44Hibs have only won once to make matters worse.
22:47They've won just one of their last 13 away league outings.
22:50Can they change that today?
22:52United are missing first-choice picks Ross Docherty and Craig Sybild.
22:56So there's a slight change of shape.
22:57David Pobudsky comes back in with Miller-Thompson and Glenn Middleton
23:00starting on the wings. Kevin Holt also slots in.
23:04Hibs are without the suspended Nektar Triantis, with Josh Campbell dropping to the subs.
23:08Joe Newell returns from injury to gap from the side,
23:10with 18-year-old Rudi Malotnikov restored to the starting line-up.
23:14Before we start, there's a minute's applause for Peter Cormack,
23:17the former Hibs and Liverpool great who passed away last week.
23:21FULL-TIME WHISTLE
23:22FULL-TIME WHISTLE
23:24FULL-TIME WHISTLE
23:25Miller trying to work something on the right for Hibs, comes back to Kwon.
23:32United still possession, Glenn Middleton trying to get away from Newell.
23:36He's caught by the Hibs skipper, and it will be an early booking.
23:42Newell into Chris Grahams.
23:46Little black book after that challenge.
23:52Hibs give away possession, Middleton.
23:57Chameem away from one, and then away from Miller as well,
24:00shows him a clean pair of heels, into the box, he squares it!
24:04Sam Dalby scores!
24:07United are ahead.
24:10And they celebrate with Glenn Middleton.
24:13His first start of the league season.
24:17And he does so well there, and Dalby does well to stay onside too.
24:23Middleton, instrumental in United's championship victory last season.
24:30And he's earned a start, and he's got an assist as well.
24:34Brilliant play by the winger.
24:37The first United goal for Sam Dalby too, from all of a yard out.
24:46Middleton up the line, looking for Hoylett.
24:49Kuharevic.
24:52Hibs just not able to work it, United trying to get away.
24:56Kwan just caught.
24:59Chris Grahams thinks about playing advantage.
25:02And then pulls it all the way back.
25:06Boglinski sliding into the challenge, and then using his body to foul Kwan.
25:11Always going to be a free kick.
25:17Newell, crosses it deep.
25:20Miller gets there, it's nodded back!
25:22And Ohura's in there!
25:27Warren Ohura with the goal.
25:33Hibs have dominated possession this entire first half,
25:36but they've not been able to make the chances count until now.
25:41A powerful header from Ohura is first in the league for Hibs.
25:46And it has them level just before the break at Tannedyce.
25:52And it's probably what they deserve as well.
25:58Gallagher, long ball forward, looking for Middleton.
26:02Up now against Chris Caddon.
26:05One way, then the other, crosses in, there's Dalby!
26:102-1 United!
26:12What a brilliant start to the second half.
26:16Just what Jim Goodwin would have asked for.
26:19And it's soft, soft defending from Hibs.
26:22Dalby just ghosting in away from a beat-up.
26:27There's a VAR check on this.
26:30And it's ruled out.
26:31Grant Irvine, the VAR, gets involved.
26:35And Glenn Middleton just offside.
26:41Boglinski trying to find Dalby.
26:44Molotnikov does well to find Martin Boyle.
26:48Thinks about the shot.
26:50Makes it wide to Hoylett instead.
26:53Fired across the face of goal.
26:55Well, that could have gone anywhere.
26:58Mikulam, Kuharevic, almost on the end of it.
27:01Jack Walton just let it fly across his six-yard box.
27:07Hibs win it back up the pitch.
27:09Here's Kwon, thinks about the shot.
27:11Oh, he caught that all right.
27:14Jack Walton, brilliant save in the end.
27:17He's been a little busier in the last five minutes.
27:20He did well to keep that out.
27:23Almost a super goal from the Celtic loanee.
27:33Beat-up down the line for Kuharevic.
27:37Comes back to a beat-up.
27:39That's a good cross. Dwight Gale's there!
27:44Hibs are ahead!
27:47Dwight Gale with his first goal for the club.
27:53The veteran striker with an experienced finish.
27:58Just planting his header into the ground.
28:01And then the back of the net.
28:03And it's a brilliant ball in from Ibiza as well.
28:08And it puts Hibs into the lead in Dundee.
28:14Kwon back to Newell.
28:16Assessing his options, bad touch.
28:18And he flies into that tackle on Lucas Stevenson.
28:22The play goes on.
28:24And Stevenson rolls around on the deck,
28:26but it's eventually going to be called back.
28:28And Joe Newell could be off here.
28:33The Hibs skipper gets his marching orders.
28:36They've been walking a tightrope since the 15th minute.
28:39He may get the ball, but he gets a fair share of Lucas Stevenson too.
28:45United flying forward.
28:46Trapanowski gets the break of the ball.
28:50He charges to the by-line.
28:52Can he pick out a Dundee United man?
28:53The ball falls!
28:55Lucas Stevenson!
28:59Finds the leveller for United.
29:02It's another late goal for Jim Goodwin's side.
29:05And it rescues a point.
29:08Or should Joe Bursic do better?
29:11He just palms that out into a perfect position.
29:14And Stevenson just wants it more.
29:18Controls the ball.
29:20And rifles it home.
29:24And it's another late goal for Hibs to concede.
29:32Walton urged to go long.
29:36It's knotted on.
29:37Bursic comes.
29:38He doesn't gather.
29:39Misak's there!
29:41He's done it!
29:443-2!
29:46Dundee United leads.
29:49A goal at the 99th minute.
29:54And that'll be all three points for Dundee United
29:58as their final goal.
29:59Dundee United as their fans pour onto the pitch.
30:06A first Dundee United goal for Misak.
30:09And what a time to get it.
30:11What composure.
30:14Just to lob the ball over Joe Bursic
30:17who came out stranded and only caught his Hibs defender
30:22in off the underside of the bar.
30:24The most dramatic finish at Tanned Ice.
30:30And Chris Graham blows the full-time whistle.
30:34United have won it.
30:36Ten minutes ago, they were behind.
30:39And now, somehow, they have all three points.
30:43A complete capitulation from Hibs.
30:46They've completely crumbled.
30:48But this is all about United's victory.
30:50What resilience they've shown.
30:52It finishes at Tanned Ice.
30:54Dundee United 3.
30:56It finishes at Tanned Ice.
30:57Dundee United 3.
30:58Hibernian 2.
31:02After being away from Tanned Ice for so long.
31:04It's their first game here in around about a month.
31:07And with the supporters turning out
31:09and the kind of numbers that they did,
31:10it was really important that we gave them a positive result.
31:13And I think that'll be up there
31:15with some of the most exciting finishes to a game
31:17that they've seen for a long time.
31:18Wilson, when you're down the bottom
31:20or you're underperforming and not getting the results that you need,
31:23things do seem to go against you
31:25and everything gets magnified.
31:26And it certainly feels that way at the moment.
31:28We are being punished all the time
31:29for individual errors, decision-making.
31:31But I'm not going to stand here and make excuses.
31:33I'm responsible for that as the head coach.
31:36I take that on the chin.
31:37And it's up to me to make sure we stick together.
31:39We'll work as hard as we can to make sure we put this right.
31:43Goals on 93 and 99 minutes
31:46earn United the win in dramatic fashion.
31:49I mean, it really was an absolutely brilliant game.
31:51Again, thoroughly entertaining.
31:53So many games.
31:54I mean, testing our multitasking skills today.
31:56I know, there's a lot going on.
31:57Testing all the games and listening to the commentary.
31:59And people seem to be going crazy everywhere.
32:01But, I mean, that is a hammer blow to David Grader.
32:04You can see how flat he is.
32:05And his team will be as well.
32:06But on the flip side,
32:07sheer elation for Dundee United and Jim Goodwin.
32:10He was talking about his grass stains in the back of his pants there.
32:12I had a wee fall.
32:13I think, aye.
32:14Disappointed they didn't have footage of that, really.
32:16A remarkable bit of football towards the end of a football.
32:21It shows you a football match.
32:22It shows you how important...
32:23I was talking about discipline in the Aberdeen game.
32:25Making decisions and good teams punishing you.
32:28Talking about decisions today.
32:30Joe Newell, for example.
32:31Let's take a look at it.
32:32You queue them up.
32:34Last week, Hibes lost a man.
32:36Triantis, within a couple of minutes,
32:38they conceded the winner against Motherwell.
32:40Today, 2-1 up.
32:41Joe Newell, this is his first yellow.
32:43We were looking at it, Barry and I, upstairs.
32:45He's been booked there.
32:46There's no contact from him.
32:48None whatsoever.
32:49He's trying to pull out,
32:50but he's stopped a promising attack.
32:51It's cynical.
32:52It's cynical.
32:53I think the yellow card is probably justified.
32:55Even though he made no contact?
32:56Yeah, because he has impeded Glenn Middleton.
33:00This one, he takes a heavy touch.
33:02When I look at this,
33:03this is a yellow card all day long.
33:05It's one of those naughty ones
33:06where you know you're getting the ball,
33:07but he's lifting his sole of the boot up.
33:09Catches Stevenson.
33:10Any more than a yellow, if it wasn't...
33:12Might be, but I think a yellow.
33:14Punishment enough.
33:15His second yellow, red card,
33:17and then what happens afterwards.
33:19I don't have any complaints with the red,
33:21but it's a decision making
33:22from a really experienced player, club captain.
33:25He'll be hating himself tonight because...
33:26I think the thing is as well,
33:27it's the 85th minute.
33:28I know.
33:29The Hibs are looking to get their first away win of the season.
33:32You hang in for another five, ten minutes,
33:34and you've done it,
33:35but Dundee United took full advantage, Barry.
33:37Definitely.
33:38Of that numerical advantage,
33:40and fair play to them.
33:41They really pushed, showed a lot of character,
33:43and in the end, got the goals.
33:44You did.
33:45I mean, Hibs at this point,
33:47you're the 85th minute experienced player.
33:49You've just got to dig in and stay organised.
33:51You need experienced leaders in there.
33:53Obviously, the goalkeeper needs to do better,
33:55but you need experienced players in
33:57to calm everybody down.
33:59It's all about easiness, isn't it?
34:00Yeah.
34:01They've got excitement over the sending off.
34:03They've been rocked by it.
34:05That's where you've got to stay calm.
34:07Like this here,
34:08two centre-backs getting caught cross between each other,
34:11left-backs away.
34:12Wide goalkeeper comes,
34:13flap him a bit.
34:14Oh, that's great.
34:15What's Barsic?
34:16Just stay calm.
34:17Focus on the positive,
34:18which is that the finish is brilliant from Meshack,
34:21but what's the goalkeeper Barsic doing, Neil?
34:23Well, that's the thing.
34:25First of all, the set-up.
34:26It comes from a dead ball.
34:27The set-up's poor.
34:28They're all over the place.
34:29Never recover.
34:30I don't think the ball's high enough
34:31for Barsic to come and challenge.
34:33I think as soon as the first header is lost,
34:35he must retreat onto his line
34:36and let his defenders deal with it.
34:38There's Goody falling.
34:39Brilliant.
34:40I'm so pleased we've got that.
34:42He's tried to style it out as well.
34:44He 100% didn't.
34:45Brilliant.
34:46Delighted we got him on tonight.
34:47You'll be watching that
34:48with a wee glass of wine laughing, I hope.
34:50But it's no laughing matter for David Gray
34:53when your keeper's making such a bad error.
34:55It's such a...
34:56I mean, you'd probably take a point there.
34:58Listen, the experienced players,
34:59the 85th minute getting sent off,
35:01that doesn't help.
35:02You're saying it's no laughing matter for David Gray.
35:04I mean, for him personally,
35:06Hibs down at the bottom of the table now,
35:08really, really struggling.
35:11They've got the Derby game against Tarts
35:13coming up next weekend.
35:14It's a huge, huge game
35:15because you don't expect a team of Hibs' size
35:19to be down where they are.
35:20It's quite early in the season we get that
35:23and there's no panic yet.
35:24But the expectation level is higher than that.
35:26Oh, of course.
35:27But there's been so much scrutiny under it.
35:29We've both been in positions
35:30where we've lost our jobs
35:31and it's not easy
35:32because results are not coming.
35:33And you know how hard the work you put in,
35:36particularly when you know you're under pressure,
35:38you're double-checking everything.
35:39But when players are making decisions like that
35:41on the pitch
35:42and it's costing you dearly,
35:44it's a horrible situation.
35:46It's gut-wrenching.
35:47He's a young manager.
35:48They've got Malcolm McKay above him.
35:49They've given him the opportunity to stick with him.
35:52I know the results haven't went his way,
35:54but you can see his enthusiasm,
35:56how little he wants to do.
35:58As I said, they've got Malcolm above him
36:00who's got a lot of experience to lean on.
36:02It's amazing that you talk about things like this
36:05eight games into a season,
36:06but it was just his experienced player
36:08costing him today.
36:09I've been there myself as a player.
36:10I've done it.
36:11I've been sent off at the wrong times.
36:12I've done it myself.
36:13And Joe Newell's done that today.
36:15And it does it cost you.
36:16The derby next week could be the worst thing for him
36:19or it could be the best thing for him.
36:20Are you seeing enough on the pitch from his team?
36:22I mean, they seem to be losing.
36:23I thought they were excellent against the Rangers.
36:25They were good against the Rangers.
36:27And then, as I said, last week,
36:29it wasn't brilliant,
36:30but there wasn't much in the game.
36:31And then you lose a player
36:32and within a couple of minutes
36:33you've conceded Andy Halliday's scoring
36:35and you end up losing the game.
36:36Today, you looked at it,
36:37very even game in the stats,
36:39the actual boss possession.
36:40As Jim said,
36:41Hibs were probably the best team
36:42for a large portion of the match.
36:44But they showed the aggression.
36:45They asked the questions
36:46and unfortunately Hibs came up short.
